same could be said about otherwise rational adults getting worked up about whether a set is retiring or not and when it is retiring and spending countless minutes / hours on this process. and spending thousands of dollars on a thing we call a hobby / business where others might think we're crazy Everyone has there passions and likes. I still prefer deflated balls as opposed to under inflated leather lol4 points

Hey, it's all just speculation, and I hope you're right. What concerned me about the $483 TH sales was not the dollar amount but that the sale was apparently to an investor. I'd be more comfortable with any price point if it represented sales to end users rather than speculators. I remember back in maybe August of last year some guy was posting about buying SSD at $670 as an investment. Well, considering fees, he's still underwater on those by around $60 per set (assuming sale on eBay). He could have, as you say, put that $670 into three HH and change, four GE (still available at LEGO Shop at Home then), or even three TH. Paying 2x MSRP for an investment set is seldom the best use of cash.4 points

You guys probably have too much time on your hands discussing this way. This is an investing site. So when you look at the TH as investment it is pure gold! That's all that counts. And if you do not like it? Better! So you won't have any problems letting it go at $800 a piece coming Xmas.3 points

be careful in thinking the TH is a all-time holy grail. because every town has many houses, shops, restaurants. but there is always only one town hall. good for NOW, because the only one TH is EOL... BUT.... it3 points

Thought.... Because usps is overwhelmed with amount of packages from everyone jumping ship from ups and FedEx..... More volume... More margin for error. Just a thought. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Brickpicker mobile app2 points

I'm from L.A. We don't even have a team and as long as I lived in Atlanta I never really cared for it so no to the Falcons. My college didn't have a team either, until last year. Hell, I haven't had true cable in almost 8 years, just the $10 basic for local. I would drop it as well, but every time I try Comcast extends a promo for Internet so that I would pay more if I dropped it.2 points

I think we're overthinking this one. If it's a big, expensive Star Wars UCS Lego set, the price is only going in one direction. I concern myself much more with the potential ROI of a $200 Lego investment in other categories. That should be the debate. The Red 5 is going, and future fans of Lego will want it. You won't lose money.2 points

I'm with Tony on this completely. Adapt to the situation. They should have. No matter who your quarterback is- epic risk in tossing the rock with the stakes being so high. When Lynch is in the backfield- change your plan. Adapt, deliver. On a different note... Sroster.... ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Purple Rain picture, LMAO. My Wife rags on me all the time for loving that song, then forcing the kids to watch parts of the movie which has been on my DVR for the last eight months thanks to VH1. Classic- and very well played. ___ Migration... a fair point, but to each their own!! We pay a couple hundred bucks a year with Direct TV to get the "NFL Sunday Ticket", so I can watch- in painstaking detail- my beloved Denver Broncos fall short year after year. I know soccer is the #1 sport world-wide, and I wouldn't knock it- but it is not for me. Different flavors, I suppose... but I loves me some NFL football.2 points

If you already have a couple, (for me), yes! I am already moving money around to try and best capitalize on 2xVIP and this set should definitely be on one's radar. If you have none or one (or are waaaay below your target) then by all means buy now and later. But I sincerely doubt this is gone in six weeks from S&****.2 points

Broke down the rest of my pallets and found my other Lonely Mountain. Had tossed it in the "to deal with later" pallet and heard the famous sounds of LEGO and decided to check it. Sure enough it was the set. First set in over 10 years of buying Amazon liquidation that came in a brown box and not the retail box. Usually they're destroyed / damaged but always included. All outer numbered bags had been opened but all inner bags were still sealed. Instructions sealed. Smaug and minifigs accounted for. Switched this one out into my personal inventory and sold another I had bought in its place to get a little more money out of it. Let the daughter build Smaug and I decided to build the rest. On a side note the box they put it in fit it perfectly so there is still room for box sizes to get smaller LOL (I put another one behind it to show comparison)2 points

I don't get why otherwise rational adults get so worked up watching millionaires toss around an under inflated piece of leather.2 points

Amazon.ca has 20% off the following sets it seems: 60052 Cargo Train (Can some BP affiliate link this one?) 75054 AT-AT 75052 Mos Eisley Cantina The only one that really stands out to me is the train but I'm not prepared to buy into that one yet. But maybe for personal collection some of you will want these.1 point

Did the package show delivered inside of ebay's estimated delivery window? If not you will lose the case. If it did it is an auto win for the seller so something is missing from the story. Delivery date is critical. If you ship late or your carrier is delayed you are on the hook.1 point

This is very strange. I use ebay to print labels so tracking is auto-added to the sales record. I also provide tracking in the case and have never lost a case. I don't understand how the appeals process denied your case, seems very cut and dry. You can try calling the Utah number and talking to a sentient human instead of a script reader. I have had great luck with them.1 point

Thank you maryjmeg, that promotion code seems OK. Pleased 4 orders with this code, each has $10 removed from total price. In order to use this promotion code, you must use the one maryjmeg gave. Note: it is case sensitive. Seems TRU.ca want to make sure each user could just use this code once for all, but looks like they just save the usage information in cookies. So if you got annoying message saying your code is not valid blah blah blah the second time you trying to apply it, just clear your browser's1 point

Aside note: When a hedgehog is sick or wounded, he comes near to your house so you can help him, so do not hesitate to do it. It happened twice to me ! (I've found two of these little guys just in front of my entrance door !) When a hedgehog is sick, put him in a warmer place (your garage for example) in a card box with some dry stuff (straw, newspaper...) and safely from other animals (cats and dogs) so he can rest. You can feed him with some water and some cat/dog dry food but most of the time he will not be hungry. Do NOT give him some milk, nor bread, it could kill him (his stomach can't handle this food). And be careful about the Lyme disease: catch him with a newspaper to avoid to be hurt by his spikes. In my country the hedgehog is a protected species.1 point

Sales in general (at least in my area) have been non-existent. TRU's flyers for January and now the start of February have been painfully underwhelming. I didn't make it to my Target today but I will go tomorrow morning. With the Red Card 25% off a couple SW sets might be worth it for the personal collection, but not juicy enough to invest heavily in. Remember the glorious time of 50% off Unexpected Gathering, Black Gate, Pirate Ship Ambush, Republic Gunship and Sail Barge. I miss those days.1 point

About 6 months ago, Target had some good deals on the tins (30% off I think) but they don't usually go on sale anywhere. I only saw deals at TRU for their Canadian Black Friday event. Not sure how into Pokemon your kids are but for anyone thinking... If you can find the Elite Trainer Box (it's a black box), the price might be scary but it has excellent cards for building real decks. The problem with the deck packs is that you have 1 deck, that's it... and the booster packs generally stink for adding energy and trainer/supporter cards. Don't get me wrong, I think at 50% any of the boxes, tins or packs are a great deal. 20% off . nope, we've had better.1 point

No. You have a guy that drags 3 tacklers 3 yards after contact on a regular basis. If he cannot break the plane on 3 attempts with timeouts, hats off to a pats D that stepped up when it mattered most. Reports are they had pre-planned the series. What they didn't do was pivot when the situation changed and it cost them.1 point

As mentioned new tracking, guesses and related contests when they occur will start in a new thread soon. Since this one is 99% done I will finish it here with this post and one final confirming post tomorrow. Thanks to toycrazedchris for his assistance with this behind the scenes! WINNING ENTRY - PENDING CONFIRMATION Lets go with Friday 1/30/15 at 12:27 AM EST as the time it went out of stock. I find it interesting that it was at 100 earlier tonight and went to 0. I can only assume some big Brickpicker buyers that remain silent bought up the balance quickly tonight or Toys R Us adjusted their inventory. From all the emails I have gotten the closest person (before or after) to this time wins. From my records I show that it should be newbiecollect with a prediction of Thursday 1/29/15 5:55 PM EST. I would appreciate if someone else would concur. I will wait to state it is final tomorrow. Now for the surprise. I like No More Monkeys suggestion to throw in a Red 5 T Shirt so I am going to do that as well for the winner. Once we confirm tomorrow morning that it is newbiecollect then please PM me your shipping address and your T Shirt size. I'll order one and throw it in for free too with the Microfighter X Wing once I receive it. It is the least I can do for everything that Brickpicker does for me. I just hope Red 5 continues the bounce at LEGO Shop at Home and then flies off into the moonset. Thanks everyone this has been a lot of fun. May the force be with you! Trek1 point

Please use a more muscular image in referring to me in the future. Thanks. The irony Is I was in honors English and advanced writing classes throughout school life. I can write very well. But, I'm way too lazy to do so on here, or in text. Seems like a lot of work.1 point
