All this practice does is hurt the legitimate ebay sellers including most of you on here, yet every time one of these type auctions comes up of $50 Death Stars or half price this and that people bid on them with the hope they are going to get something that will never come. It affects ebay sellers as a whole as ebay then takes proactive measures like restricting additional accounts a legitimate user may have or putting harsher monthly limits on sellers to protect them from getting more damage from hacked accounts. If something is over 50% off on a hot item you know its not legitimate so why bother!!!! The attitude that I am covered by paypal and ebay so it doesn't matter is the wrong one to have. It still have repercussions on the site as a whole. Just report these type auctions instead of purchasing them and hoping for the best.9 points

I'm not trying to bust your you know what but your attitude is precisely why scammers are so successful. Your logic is if it's a scam oh well ebay or paypal has got my back. Meanwhile the scammer got away Scott free with your money. Who do think reimburses you? The thief? It comes from PayPal or ebay who have to foot the bill, and then people wonder why the fees they charge keep going up and up.8 points

I ended up placing a couple orders from zavvi.com after they were rumored to be sold out. I didn't think I would get anything but today I got a nice surprise in the mail! I read they made 500 of each color, I ended up with 4 copies of red vinyl and one of them is #000001 as shown in the photo! Never expected that! If anyone ends up with an extra yellow and wants to trade for a red, keep me in mind. Time to break out the wheels of steel.. lol4 points

Ah, the classic Chinese 'Lego to Jewelry' bait and switch. It's the oldest trick in the book. I still have a giant heap of costume jewelry where my stack of MISB 10179's is supposed to be. I just can't bring myself to take the loss and accept that the UCS Falcons I was promised by 'supertrustguy99' (only $99 each with free shipping!) will never arrive... I mean, delivery from China can take a long time, right?2 points

Point taken I shall see if I can get in touch with ebay regarding a possible scam. In the future I will be a lot more careful not to be taken in.2 points

That could have been easily covered had USPS stopped subsidizing those damn mails from China.2 points

I am a seller that calls them new. If I part out a set (minifigs), are they used because I sliced open a big bag to take the minifigures out? I don't use stock photos on sets like that and I also list a good description of what was done so it isn't a surprise. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Brickpicker mobile app2 points

Something about Star Wars and spaceships seems to trump all rationale when it comes to Lego investing. I have an equal share of these two so I'm happy to see either win. Assuming TOO poofs out completely soon, I expect Red Five to win the 1-2 yr appreciation race and TOO wins long-term.2 points

I might have bought a couple of those X-Wings at Sam's Club, but I'm not sure what they finally cleared out at? I think I saw them at $19.81. I thought about rigging them with some rocket kits for some Saturday night fun.2 points

Oh there's no "lose" in Mixels as far as I'm concerned. I just hope we can move them sooner than later. I hope that BP member that's being talked about up's his asking price. If he holds that much power over prices, it could be wise for him as well. I was gonna say, it better not be Alpinemaps! haha. He wouldn't keep them too low. lol1 point

its been less than 3 weeks . with 99 limit TLG must have ramped up after they got sold out during holiday. Now its overflowing... bad timing... amazon ranks it @ 27,383. its moving albeit slowly but at least about 20sets/week. price has been steady and BB price has slightly increased. i see this as a "+"ve ... S3 may not be the best amongst with regard to reselling but again depending on your entry point $$ is there. if S3 remains this cheap by next year then it will act as a very good X-Mas stuffer ...1 point

Don't you love it when your writing a sentence in a memo for your job and you are evaluating the use of the proper to or too for writing and your so deep in lego the first version that comes to mind as the answer is ToO?1 point

42009 (Crane MkII) is the mother of all technic sets. An amazing, long, complex build. 2 gear boxes that switch between 5 functions. You'll get to book 3 (out of six), and still wonder what the heck you're putting together. Very sturdy final model, highly recommended.1 point

So sorry for this mess. I just spent an hour weighing my inventory, and all my large sets were within 10-15g of each other (Harbor Freight scale with +/- 5g resolution). Shipping weights will be your best way out of this. (un)fortunately, your weight variance is very large, many pounds. This will appear in your shipping weights. Do your packing slips have weights recorded? Even without this data available to you, I would ask Walmart to try and recover shipping weight info from their system or UPS/Fedex. Obviously, the tracking number will be of immense help here. If shipping data shows a discrepancy of a few kg, then you've got everything you need to prove to Walmart that they shipped sets with many missing pieces/bags. At some point, if Walmart hasn't yet resolved this, I'd open the underweight sets and inventory what bags are missing. Its possible - possible - that someone pilfered a complete set from 2 or more other sets. In this case, the missing bags from your set would be telling. The lego bags will be marked with numbers. If I was thinking deviously and wanted to short a few sets to make a complete one, I'd simply take all the #1 bags from one set, all the #2 from another, and so forth. Practically, there's no other way to do that; trying to discern individual bags would be a nightmare. Anyway, knowing what bags are missing is additional evidence for you with Walmart that someone shorted your sets on their end, perhaps to steal a complete set of their own. Good luck, and keep us posted. From now on, I'm weighing every set I receive for which I have other sets to compare to. And not a bad idea to weigh outgoing-sets, with perhaps a photo of the outgoing shipping info + the set on a scale as a bit of proof of what you're sending. I'd also *not* tell buyers I have this info recorded. Would be very handy for counterevidence against shady buyers looking to skim parts or some other scam in the future.1 point

I too had the problem where every time I set out to buy a Red 5, I bought a ToO instead. 2400 pieces versus 1500 for the same price, and the tower is far less likely to be released as another set, while we all know the future holds many more Lego X-wings. Plus you can actually play with the tower. Even at several hundred dollars each, lots of these exclusives are being sold to parents (judging by online reviews and my own customers' emails). With the tower, you can display it from three sides, or turn it around and play with the interior. It's a win-win.1 point

While I don't disagree that it is better to not put bad ideas out there - I find it hard to separate these statements of potential danger from many others. If it is all about the common good - We should never discuss what might cause the market to crumble - since it might send people into a selling panic. We should never state that any set is a winner or loser - since it will effect the way people buy and sell. And most importantly - We should never say that someone throws, runs, punches, or buys LEGO like a girl.1 point
