Had my 7965's priced at $229 on AMZ - was $40 over going rate when I went to sleep. Sold 3 over night. Was intending to hold those longer. Oh well, QFLL for me.4 points

Yesterday I decided I should knock down my price on MC the cave since I have 8 and was a bit worried a major restock would come. My plan was to put up the best price on ebay sell 3 or 4 and then bump back up a bit. They all sold in a couple of hours while I was putting the kids to bed! $44.95 shipped, probably could have squeezed some more out of them but nice to be out of the QFLL MC game (except for a couple of first nights I have left). Also an icebreaker $183.95 a SC $174.95 my last RI $44.95 and some Mixels. I'm selling much more than I planned to this year as my rookie Xmas season basically. Yo ho, yo ho the QFLL life for me. We pillage from grandma's lil' Johnny beware buy up the lego yo ho!4 points

Made another stop at the Mom & Pop Pharmacy today. They are running 25% off all Hasbro and LEGO. All of the older LEGO is MSRP, but they are starting to mark-up at least 10% on the new stuff they're getting in. I got all of this 25% off. I left a Helm's Deep (nice condition) and Jabba's Palace (crease in the middle) behind. If anyone wants them for a decent deal off their reseller special prices, shoot me a PM. Helm's Deep - $104.99 Millennium Falcon - $97.49 Pet Salon - $22.49 Creative Bucket 10662 - $24.89.3 points

No. There have been numerous sets where there was a misprint, but the misprinted sets were not more valuable than the corrected ones.3 points

We had the freight train, the steam locomotive and the modern express. Now what we need is a crappy rundown eastern european passenger train from the 70-80s. A new track piece is needed which makes the train bump and derails if goes at normal speed, so a speed limit has to be imposed which makes the train rides very slow.2 points

From the dude who isn't a builder of lego.... I'm freaking building this set before Christmas. Best lego set ever.2 points

The Tower Bridge doesn't dance. It is a great value...and set. This set is a must have for any collector. I think you will be hard pressed to find another 4000+ piece set for $240...ever. If you don't have at least one, what are you waiting for?2 points

I've been having a blast parting these out. People will buy any piece of this set they can get. I sold the instruction book for The Farm: $6.25 shipped! I listed an empty 2114 box and I have bidders. Next, I plan on selling a photograph of myself playing with a Steve minifigure for a dollar. Sent from my XT1028 using Brickpicker mobile app2 points

Just a tip for the future, when you're that close on shipping weight (assuming you're shipping in a box), you can trim the inside flaps of cardboard a bit to take the extra weight off. Works great for me when you're that close in ounces.2 points

Actually, not an Apple problem. It's the forum software app that is being upgraded soon enough. Workaround is simple. After submitting your post, wait 3-5 secs. If the app is still refreshing (the clockwise status circle) , simply quit the app and reopen.2 points

For you Investors starting next year I would buy a Tumbler when ever you can, I have 5 now and will be buying one or two at least every month or so, this way when the Retiring panic buying starts I should have 20-30 now most will wait and wait and again miss the boat.2 points

Materials guide for LEGO selling & shipping Many members have asked for a centralized place where they can go for shipping box information. I'm going to pin this post and update it as new information is provided. I just want to take a few minutes and thank those who wrote the following articles. They are still very good reference materials for the LEGO storage and shipping process. I may develop this into a blog article eventually. Fcbarcelona101's : Selling LEGO : Basic Materials Guide Mos Eisley 's : LEGO Storage Wars Incompetech's Catalog of Amazon.com Box Sizes - (thanks No More Monkeys) Amazon Boxes Sorted list by length - courtesy of pstebbing I've scoured the forums and here is a list of box sizes with basic set information: Boxes: 24x20x8 : Super Star Destroyer; Death Star, Roller Coaster, UCS Sandcrawler, Assembly Square 24x20x6 : Thicker sets like Town Hall, Tower Bridge 24x16x6 - 60052 Cargo Train, R2-D2, Maersk Line Triple-E, 7939 Cargo Train 24x16x4 - Helm's Deep, Vampyre Castle, Black Pearl, Friends Riding Camp, Parisian Restaurant, High Speed Passenger Train, Jabba's Palace, Downtown Diner 24x20x4 : Grand Emporium, Pet Shop, Imperial Shuttle, Haunted House, Palace Cinema, Fire Brigade 24x14x4 : Dolphin Cruiser, Coast Guard Patrol 24x4x12 - Dolphin Cruiser, Coast Guard Patrol 20x16x4 - Volkswagen Camper Van, Olivia's House, Sonic Raider, Sopwith, Creator Bike Shop, Batcave, Quinjet, Moria & Ambush 20x16x6 : Thicker sets like the Republic Gunship; City Cargo Plane 20x14x4 : Attack on Weathertop, Hulk 's Helicarrier Breakout, X-Wing 9493, Black Gate 16x16x4 : Gungan Sub, Pre Viszla, Tie Fighter 16x10x4 : Council of Elrond, Desert Skiff, City Grand Prix Truck 16x10x6 : Thicker sets like Creator Family House, Hillside House 15x12x4 : Funhouse, Orc Forge, Tumbler Chase, Daily Bugle Showdown, Hulk Lab Smash 12x12x4 : Uruk Hai Army, City Cargo Truck, Creator Treehouse, City Fire Emergency 11-3/4x8-3/4x4-3/4 : Wolverine Chopper, Arctic Batman, Power Armor Lex, Droid Escape, Cloud Cuckoo Palace 12x8x3 - Battle Packs, CA Avenging Cycle, Catwoman, Gandalf Arrives, Holiday sets 10x8x4 : Battle Packs, CA Avenging Cycle, Catwoman, Gandalf Arrives, Holiday sets Envelopes: 4x8 : Minifigs & small polybags 6x9 : Polybags small & larger 10.5 x 16 : Larger shipments of 3 x polybags or more Packing Tape : buy in bulk or on sale : you can throw some in during a Staples coupon promotion to get up to free shipping Walmart.com Duck Brand Packaging Tape http://www.staples.com/Staples-Standard-Grade-Packaging-Tape-Clear-189-x-110-yds-6-Rolls/product_380107 Retailers: Uline.com : holiday sale starts first part of November (usually 30% off) Staples.com : use coupon promotions - $10 off $30, $20 off $75, free shipping over $60 Walmart.com USPS Priority Mail (free boxes at USPS.com) Michigan Box Company: Flat Boxes 18"-23" L (thanks pstebbing) GBE Packaging (thanks pstebbing) PackingSupplies.com http://www.packaging...ated_boxes.html (thanks pstebbing) Bubble Wrap: 3/16" thick x 350' ft x 12" wide - eBay Sams Club 3/16" - 12"x240' $12.98 (In store) ($.05/LF) (thanks pstebbing) I like to use large and small retailer plastic bags to wrap items in, even after I bubble wrap it. For battle packs and even small sets, I sometimes use Wal-Mart, Target, or plastic bags from any store. Additional packing isn 't really needed. Usually like 2 bags on bottom, one to wrap the item, and two bags on top. Make sure to cover the corners of the item real nice to provide extra padding. Rule of thumb : ship & pack all of your items the same way you 'd like to receive items you've purchased. Guess I have to clarify since some took my comment as "the 7965 is a POS". There will be a small window to make money with this but I stand by my opinion to not get caught holding these thinking that this recent bump in price is the sign of huge things to come. All the new Stars Wars movies in the world aren't gonna help this set when the refresh hits.....1 point

A new employee at Lego made a mistake..... Got calendars, 2x VP points, and Winter Ice Skating. Multiple purchases. Also got a few other sought-after sets......Hint: Star Wars1 point

Guns '****** Ammo, Payday Loan Shop, Rent to Own, Bail Bondsman, and maybe a storefront fortune teller. Lots of possibilities for Lego to explore if they want to go downscale a bit... I bet the AFOL's would be all over the Modular Buildings -- Wrong Side of the Tracks theme!1 point

Amazon is already $214.95 and eBay is $192.50 as the lowest prices. Glad I stocked up. They can go with the 9493 X Wings I got that are already at $99.90 Amazon and eBay $86.98 that some thought was a bad buy in at $48 a couple of weeks ago from Walmart. That goes with the Tie Figher advice I got to avoid those too which unfortunately I heeded. All of these are medium level winners at worst. I love the OT stuff and I do not think any of it is coming back. It will all be Episode VII'd which is a great thing too but makes the OT stuff more valuable.1 point

The way I see it, someone is going to want to swap in a few friends hair and head pieces and create all of ariels sisters. amazing treasures is the cheapest way. I'm definitely not ignoring any DP set with more than one minidoll either.1 point

I don't think so. From what I have seen, the values are relatively the same between a misprint and a normal one.1 point

I took a gamble on them. I knew they wouldn't be elsa grade but it is a pretty nice set. Expensive but nice. Got them down to $44 with the 20% off coupon.1 point

- Pet Shop: Yes, but I have my projected number of them. - Triple E: Used to be very sure about this one and bought a couple. But after speaking with someone about this set I think I will keep it at three. The previous version seemed not to have done so well. - Death Star: My source and my gut says it is done. Just takes time for such a big expensive set to disappear. Have not seen any nice deals on it lately to make me pull the trigger. - Palace Cinema: You are right. - Sea Cow: Do not believe in this one. - Simps House: You are right1 point

When you go to your post office to drop off a ton of packages and the line is a mile long. Manager comes out gives me the keys to the side Door and says let me know when your done. Everyone in line looked at me like why does he get this privilege. Even through me off. They know me but they legit gave me full access. Walked all my boxes in put them in the back. I was around the money etc etc. They really trust me. Very appreciated.1 point

Man, nobody knows. Might as well post some stock tips too. For example, I see the S & P at 4000 by year end, and crude oil at $10 a barrel. Also, gold at $2000 an ounce and pork bellies at... something cheap. I'm a vegetarian.1 point

I do not get ebay buyers. I put creative tower at 85 and no bite. I bumped the price to 90 and boom, I sold 11 point

Have you ever had the desire to sell any? Or was it part of your master plan to keep building the collection until a certain point / timeframe. Just curious. To accumulate the mass amount of sets you have without selling a set is pretty amazing. Have you not sold anything at all across the board or just LEGO (I think I remember saying you collected the old Jordan sneakers as well) I personally have just always liked to buy and sell things. I do save stuff as well but for me its full time so income is a priority. back in 1999 was 24 and about to be promoted to a district manager for a retail company and was kind of doing ebay on the side and said screw it I'm going to try to make it work on my own. Everyone thought I was crazy but corporate retail was not for me. 15 years later still doing it.1 point
-
This was my point. I just didn't make it as clear. I'll help whoever. Many of you have my number. But I'm not going to write a guide for how to sell or give up tricks I use. I've been ealing and hustling since my teens and to this day I still learn new stuff. Experience really carries weight in the game. Buy the should I buy this set what do I invest in is annoying. Besides why would you trust or listen to an online stranger. I don't even take investing advise from some of the closest people in my life.1 point

For those of us that don't lie at the border that they're for our kids, they were $40 in Canada. Plus tax for made them $45. I've sold some at $80 already so makes me wonder what's up with $70?1 point
-
I also had a couple of $50 requests, but I also ignored them. I so wanted to mock them though! I've sold a couple for $80 already so I'm not going to accept $60 either seapotato. There are a few $65-75 listings on our local CL but those will eventually disappear. Also, I've tried Kijiji and CL and CL is definitely more successful for me, so I've stopped using Kijiji completely.1 point
-
Wow do people get all angry when you try and make some money. Just received an email that says "Is the Lego Creative Tower still available that you have posted on Kijiji? Just to let you know I am willing to pay $50.00 like everyone else is selling them for not $80.00." Thought about replying "then buy it from them", but I've decided it's not worth my time. All of those offers have been straight to the ol' deleted bin. I'd rather post and complain about it here.1 point

You need to get some polybags or mixels to get hits and raise your search results. If your auctions are getting ignored you are not getting good enough placement. Ebay's search placement relies heavily on amount of items sold, % of sell through, pricing, feedback & scores etc. Even if you have good feedback and scores but your items move slowly due to price or whatever the reason is you will not place higher in the search standings. While you're in this position you need to be cheaper by a decent amount to get any hits. If an item sells for $150 for everyone else it might be $135-140 for you. I know people will get that random sale that goes high and think it does not matter what you price at but for building up higher search placement it is very important to have a high sell through %. In future buy 10-20 of something that sells instantly like RR , Snowman Poly, Series 2 mixels , anything that will get more transactional sales for you and raise your search standings. Your purpose is not making money on those items so just put them at whatever the fastest selling rate is. Those are easy items that don't take any time to pack. If limits are an issue you need to be hitting them each month anyways so you can call each month and have them raised. So if your limits are 100 per month (just using that as an example) and you are only selling 30-40 items you need to sell 60 things to hit that number. Once you hit you call and they will usually go to 250 or so. Now you will have the extra listings to do these type of listings to keep raising your search status without taking away from your valuable listings. That will increase your sales each month. You'll eventually hit TRS just off the amount of transactions which will also increase your search tremendously. Free shipping also raises your search a lot. If you are doing fixed price anyways theres no point not to do free shipping. If you are selling an item at $90 and $10 free shipping you are way better off doing $100 with free shipping. You will sell more guaranteed in the long run. Ebay wants fast free shipping and ads that offer it will receive greater exposure. Now you may not have time or even want to do this but if you are planning on getting more hits and selling more product that is what needs to be done.1 point

I've had some pretty sh**ty luck on craigs list. BUUUUUT ironically enough, the UCS R2-D2 on my picture I got off there. Literally 4 emails a couple of texts messages later, and I had it in my hands an hour and a half and on my way home. And to top it off, I only paid $75 for. Brand spanken new in flawless condition. Just like what he said and how the pictures looked. He apparently won it in a game of poker a couple nights before and doesn't collect Lego or know anything about them. He just wanted cash. I didn't even try to haggle. Lol. But I thought about afterwards and had I just pulled out a crisp new $50, he prolly would have even taken that. Lol... Anyway, that's the best luckiest most awesome, will never happen again that's ever happened to me on craigslist. Other then that one experience, craigslist has been pretty much ALL BAD for this guy....WELP! Off to build the rancor pit (I was able to pick it up today AT TRU today for $41 on a price match. Last one too, only one I've seen in stores) to put underneath THE PALACE! YESSSSSSS LOL. THE END THANKS FOR READING -JakeTheGreat1 point
