Crazy time of year! So weird when a big reseller like Toywiz.com buys out your whole stock of something in an instant. They're either drop shipping or beefing up their inventory.

Got up early with the kids...groggily checking the computer as the coffee was brewing, trying to find a different auction I had previously seen. Saw this baby and clicked Buy: http://www.ebay.com/itm/291310950709 Sealed 3450 Statue of Liberty for $1050! Later received legit emails and pictures. Thanks for waking me up kids!

Just sold another 3 calendars in the space of an hour off Criagslist. They're all gone. I've had more sales from there today than I usually have in a month. And I didn't even change my ads. I got a very lovely email from one mom who had already bought Friends calendars for her girls and then had a very upset little boy without a calendar for himself. Apparently I "saved Christmas". I'm having an Ebenezer Scrooge Christmas morning moment here.

Amazon is down to 11 left...then it will just be Shop at Home with any stock...at least until Amazon keeps everyone F5'ing 6 mos from now with 8 "new finds" at a time.

What I do with a zero feedback buyer is send them a message thanking them for their purchase, telling them that I can see they are new to Ebay and offering to answer any questions they may have prior to shipment. I have almost no problems with zero feedback buyers. I had way more problems with Russians opening chargebacks and the French customs people stealing items out of my boxes and delivering them, then from zero feedback. If it's a big dollar item and they won't message you back, then I'd likely cancel the sale. Hope this helps.

I do over 50k US a year just on Lego's on EBay and I still leave feedback for every sale...

buy, buy, buy, buy, buy, then HOLD. This set is insanely cool. We rarely build large sets but could not resist this one. I categorize it as a Town-Hall type investment... buy, sit, hold. Long-term appeal for a long-time audience of LOTR fans. In the back of our attic there is a "special" place, with boxes of gifts/items we don't like/want but feel too guilty to get rid of them. An inherited Velvet Elvis from a deceased uncle, along with his glazed Dale Earnhart plate collection... a box of horrible hand-made sweaters from Aunt Ethel which are nothing shy of atrocious but we don't have the heart to get rid of, etc., etc., etc. We are planting a few TH's and ToO's next to THAT inventory. Distant... and not to be visited for a very long time. Those familiar with Tolkien's work understand the intrinsic value of the ToO and how truly iconic this set is. For those unfamiliar with his work, trust your fellow investors who are familiar with its appeal. You do not need to have any interest in what this set represents; you can research it thoroughly- on this very thread- and understand it has the potential to make you a lot of money. Tolkien and the fantasy genre may mean nothing to you, which is certainly okay, but if making money is- I would start at page one of this topic and begin reading. This should be ranked very, very high on any investor's radar based on what is currently available, what is near retiring, and what will offer long-term growth and demand.

Well apparently BooksAMillion needs a freight company to ship 20 minecraft caves. Its a 50 pound shipment that would fit in a normal size box. Pretty pathetic. not with darth vader and young han solo and young princess leia. also as someone already pointed out, the MF in the movie trailer has a square antenna, not a circle, so unlikely to be the same. for now 7965 is the second biggest lego MF ever made. and with a little help and god willing, the next MF will be some $69.99 600 piece Midi-monstrosity right at grandma's price point aimed at kids not adults which will further propel 7965 into post EOL hyperspace.

Used sets are a lot of work and corner cutting will cost you. Taking it apart is essential for dealing in used sets. Then wash with warm warm soapy water if it's not too bad; if it's really bad and smells then use white vinegar and water. It works amazing, I too, the smokiest nastiest bricks and turned them into beautiful little money makers using this technique. I have rebuilt every used set I have sold but 1. That 1 took 4x as long to sell. It's really easy to sort by color as you take it apart and buyers usually will leave a + for sorting by color.

Great work, I think your margins and sales are most likely better as you are of a Lego Master Seller Ninja, but I've got 26 shipments to process tonight for Friday through Sunday. At first having 20 or 30 sales in a load to the post office was fun, now I'm starting to feel the burden part of it. Its all good. That's at least what I keep telling myself.

I was at the Lego store yesterday talkign to store manager in Cali and they said the R2 had some part issues that some pieces were not holding on right. the piece they are referring to is the arm or blade. I haven't built it yet so I don't know. They said r2 will be back and not retiring yet.

Just had to share a question I got from a potential bidder. This is for Santa's Workshop. "Would you be willing to sell this for $69.99? That's what the price is on Lego.com." Yes, I know how much it is and it's also unavailable. Do they bidders think we are dummies?

Getting photos for proof is always a good idea. With those photos one can file a claim with the USPS online. Priority is automatically insured up to $100. For First class, unless you add insurance, I think you're out of luck. I have filed claims and it is quite straightforward. Unfortunately it comes with the territory, I got a "mine is missing bag #1" just the other day even though i know the weight and seals were good before sending. I basically proceed as if the buyer is telling the truth and politely ask for photos where appropriate. Often times you just won't hear back from the 'presumably' dishonest ones.
