I just wrapped up another Hobbit set. My favorite part of this set is that two sections of the castle explode.

My initial plan for quantity was 100 TH but eventually I realized that I only have money for 3. (Same goes for GE and PS... maybe I shouldn't aim that high in the first place ^.^ )

Do me a favor. Bookmark this post and come back to it in 2 years when you start selling those TH, PS, GE, etc on eBay or any other online venues.

The LEGO AFOL in our house wants a Mr Gold and I said no way at the current prices.... We just have too many bills to pay to justify those kinds of costs for a teeny tiny minifig. I think that if you've got the cash, this would be pretty cool... I'm expecting Ed Mack to post a picture of it once it arrives at his house.

Keep an eye out kmart has been putting different items up everyday that are giving back almost the same amount of points redeemed. Some of its not great for resale but hey its free. So far I have gotten 3 surge protectors, 2 pairs of headphones, and 4 of the skylanders sets all earning more points back than what I paid with. I have been redeeming $1 less in points than the total on the order and the points back are showing up, if you redeem the whole amount in points then the points back goes to $0. So with a coupon I have been getting back more points than I am using.

We beat Georgia last bowl game, doesn't mean I think NU would compete in the SEC. Bowl games are tough because you really don't know what team is going to show up. The last 2 bowl games that Alabama has played in that didn't mean much to them they have lost, also losing to Utah in the Sugar bowl a few years ago. The way Texas always recruited was to basically lock up their class by the end of their Junior Days and then grab a couple here and there. The problem with that strategy, even though you are getting elite talent, a lot of time you are getting kids that peak early while teams that recruit later may get that kid that is hot at the end of his senior year and still developing. Neither is wrong, but they missed out on a lot of kids that blew up because they were already full.

For me, getting this deal means spending a LOT more money on things I don't need, and buying food (and eating it) in quantities that I will definitely regret. This is a terrible deal. So did I buy one? ... oh yeah... I bought one.

This touches on the point I want to make. The statements regarding how many people have purchased or hoarded GE and how it will affect the market doesn't take into account the vast number of new lego fans there are each day.(including AFOLs) I'd be interested to know how many new members joined BP since the last modular officially retired. While there are more people investing in LEGO these days vs back in the GG days I still think it can be offset by the new fan base. We all started somewhere and we all get really excited about different Legos. This excitement and desire to have "THAT" lego is what we count on and what will fuel our ROI. I do hope GE does well. It may take 4 years to get into the $400 mark but most of us have positioned ourselves to wait that long.

Sorry my bad to go off topic. Even if GE is the most hoarded set, am I the only one to think the number of new AFOL that just got interested in modulars sets from buying parisan restaurants and the newer sets will offset the amount of extra hoarding?

Inside information for Dutch investors: Intertoys will have a 15% discount on the entire Lego collection next weekend or one weekend later. Hope their inventory Town Hall will last till that moment. It is the same issue with the SSD in September: Discounted for 320 euro in September, quickly sold out and then a few days later also the 15% discount.. man, what would I love to have SSD's for 272 euro back then :-)

That thing is kinda cool, just not $600 cool. If the story behind it is legit, it's nice to see the game company on board with that auction. A charity that provides Lego to kids in the hospital, where have I seen that before?

I wouldn't be investing any money into Lego's at all.. seriously. At your age it's not worth it for the stress taking your focus off doing your best in school and possibly taking money away from your future University/transportation needs. Your best bet is to put away 30% of your fun money for school into a bank and the rest into a safe index fund account (S&P 500 USA stocks) each month and have it ready when you're going to move on to University. You don't want a headache of having to sell your entire $2,000(for arguments sake) collection of Lego at a moment's notice and hoping you break even, when you could have been stress free and had both money in the bank and a small amount of interest as you either head into a trade or into school.

I picked up a lot of these at $20 earlier this year, so far, in order of popularity... Wii Xbox 360 PS3 Wii U I recommend the 3DS Version bc you get Lava Barf Eruptor (exclusive to this version) & Rattle Shake (hard-to-find in a single pack) & Free Ranger (common), as opposed to Blast Zone, Ninja Stealth Elf & Wash Buckler in the other 4 versions.

I have a few, and I still like it. The key to me is that they are releasing another similar house in the same line. If Friends sticks around for a bit longer, which it seems to be, then it should appreciate nicely. I think 150% by next Christmas might be stretching it though. Gonna take a while to clear these out.

I'm curious if I'll actually get Wii U versions. Thats stupid. Looks like I can get two for $96, sell them and make back 60$ of that or so, plus 100$ in points. So I will end up spending 40$ for 100$ worth of stuff. Not too shabby.

Lol I don't feel bad. Everyone could have gone in at 10am to get them and the other 2 try locations still have tons. I don't feel bad because so many here on this site are able to ****** up 4-8 copies of haunted houses etc when they pop up for retail on amazon and Walmart etc and I haven't even been able to get 1. I don't sit at a computer all day so I'm not able to get those deals fast enough when someone posts it. But I can be the first person in line outside of a store at 10am Just left the last tru!! caution before you go knee deep on Legos and buy 10s and 100s of thousand $ of Legos. Try selling few. Selling is a lot harder and it may not be what you might be thinking. Untill you are able to sell it's just boat load of plastic and cardboard box. It might look good on paper but the time and effort it goes on it is something you have to account as well. Make yourself comfortable with the whole aspect of buying and selling otherwise you are going to have a lot more than that can be handled.

Better believe it. 28 unnumbered bags with bags inside of those bags...still I would not trade the experience for anything. IF you build it(and I recommend you do) separate all the pieces by color as well as flat vs regular pieces. Also build both towers simultaneously. It will help out as well as looks pretty cool as you slowely complete the project. Also do this when you are done (add a bat signal as well!)
