you guys really are making this worse by cleaning out every single retailer every time there's a hint of a shortage you make them extremely happy and you make them order more batches8 points

I will probably be heckled for this, though I ask you to respond respectfully. Lego is at or approaching being a $5 Billion corporation. Does everyone really think that the mass effect of people on Brickpicker and other sites who buy up inventory have such an important effect on Lego that we actually cause them to adjust sales forecasts and run complete new builds of products? When we were mass buying up the SSD's they did not come through and keep producing 50,000 more they retired it in the US. We can cause spikes shortages and out of stocks but to think that Lego adjusts their overall marketing strategy based upon the frenzy of people scooping up something like Town Hall and that they either were going to retire it or no will not retire it based on the last few days of sales I think makes a much higher opinion of ourselves than we deserve in terms of their overall strategy. The majority of their sales goes to end users (through authorized retailers) and direct through LEGO Shop at Home. In the US I think they do not like at all what most of us do buying up sets are doing and they try to ban and block it where ever possible so that the sets are available for their original intended base. But I do not think there is any great focus on us. I would liken it to if any of you have lived on a farm and owned a horse. There are constantly flies buzzing around the horse and it will swat them with its tail whenever possible, and there will always be flies and it will always swat them, but is a horses main reason in life to swat flies? It doesn't care about the flies it just wants them gone but it goes on and eats, runs, and has fun whether they are there or not. The same with Lego. Whether TH, GE, PS, TB, ToO, 3E or any of them go away we can make small ripples in the pond. But I think we are ripples. Lego is an ocean. That said I am stocking up on everything. Cheers!4 points

I understand, you have other problems to deals with (like, trying to keep scotland inside the UK). (ok this was an easy one )3 points

If she gets banned it's a good reason to dump her and get a new gf. That's what I'd do.3 points

I know that a lot of people in the UK may not see it that way but actually you are part of Europe ;-)3 points

I wont say what I really wanted to but it's sad when we live in such a political correct society and a few people r having a laugh on a forum that someone has to make an issue about nothing. Whatever carry on. You wanna take offence to something take offence to me. Playing linken logs with my nephew right now while we are surrounded by lego.3 points

You need to buy 21103 to answer that. Edit: The answer is YES. And I'm willing accept any bet to against that answer.2 points

This is precisely why TLG has instituted bans and controls. The reselling epidemic for this product has really gotten out of control and is without a doubt disrupting supply lines in the USA. This set is scheduled for 2016 yet the noobs come on this site and get the impression it is going this year and soon as a major retailer runs out of stock they all run and buy every retailer out. What is even more bizarre is the mob doesn't focus on the sets that are actually retiring this year lol. I remember a few weeks ago everyone was buying T1 Campers, then the mob moved onto Pet Shop, now I guess TH is the flavor of the week. Sooner or later they might actually stumble upon a set that is retiring this year.2 points

I was excited to discover most of the pieces to 7019 Viking Fortress against the Fafnir Dragon in a bulk purchase. After brick-linking the missing parts, I was able to complete the set. I do not have the instruction manuals or original box, so I used the PDF manual from Brickset. The Viking Fortress was the largest set LEGO produced from the Viking line 2005 and contains 1019 pieces. The set retailed for $70 in the US and 50 pounds in the UK. The fortress is a large structure made to resemble an octagonal wooden fortress - it uses a lot of the "wood" wall palisades similar to Fort Legorado - and comes with 6 minifigures, a large dragon, and a small dragon. MINIFIGURES There are 6 Viking minifigures included in this set: 5 warriors and the Viking King. Each figure has a different color scheme and printing, along with plenty of weapons, including many of the custom printed Viking "radar dish" shields. DRAGONS There are 2 dragons - a small, baby dragon that is a simple Technic-based build with red, translucent wings. Both are custom builds and only available in this set. The 2 small technic black bushings are rare and expensive, and since I was missing one, I actually substituted light bluish gray. The large Fafnir Dragon is also Technic-based, and while not nearly as detailed or cool as the newer Ninjago dragos, it is large and pretty formidable in dark green. The large dragon head is rather rare, as it is only included in Viking sets and Mistlands Tower. THE FORTRESS BUILD The first part of the fortress is the main gate. The gate is very tall and includes double doors that swing open. The next part of the build is the large cage with a huge catapult on top. The cage opens so you can put the small dragon inside, and the catapult shoots 3 large boulders. Next, comes the rest of the walls - 2 identical sections that end up connecting to the gate and the catapult cage. Each of these wall sections also include a smaller catapult on top. Finally, all the wall sections are able to join up to make a HUGE structure: A very impressive set - if anything, just for it's large footprint. Of course, there's much more to be excited about...from the Viking minifigures to the dragons to the array of weapons and catapults. For investment purposes, latest Brickpicker pricing comes in at $215 new and $128 used with recent Ebay sales of 100% complete sets pushing up as high as $167 with box and manuals. The Viking theme as a whole is viewed by some collectors as highly desirable due to its unique, hard-to-find sets. Of course, if LEGO decides to reboot a Viking theme, I would imagine these older models may suffer if the newer ones improved on the designs.2 points

Most of them are lurkers who read, but don't post. My guess is that everyone is thinking about the set going EOL or not this Christmas.1 point

Missing out on an investment is one thing missing out on something you actually wanted to own for yourself is another. I dont always invest but when I do I buy for me first1 point

I will give people an opportunity to produce content, but I cannot promise that all of it will be acceptable. The only way I will find out if people can write is if I give them an opportunity to do so.1 point

There's nothing wrong with trying to find the best deal. But doing that you'll have to take chances. So if you are looking for an investment you should go for it and invest. If you decide otherwise because maybe it's not the best moment (though it's still a good moment) and afterwards you end up with nothing then you shouldn't complain about it. If you are serious you will buy constantly (as long as your money allows it). If you are only looking for the best prices you need to take drawbacks into consideration from time to time. Anyhow everybody should invest his money as he likes... I don't really mind what people do as long as my investment goes according to plan and I see some profit at the end. Why should I care if everybody else here buys for more or less? Why should anybody care? I'm jealous from time to time when I see cool deals that I couldn't get (yep it's true...) but if I buy something for 100$ and resell it for 200$ that's still a good deal though I didn't buy it for 70$ like somebody else might have.1 point

What's RI? ^^ Found out myself ^^ Research Institute (always thought it's laboratory...) So those are available someplace? Need to get some ^.^1 point

Your post is quite funny ^^ I can imagine a scene like "I'm sorry, no more HH, but you're an investor, right ? We still have some RI." I do agree, no more potential for the RI for now (quick flip) but still have some potential if you are ok to seat on it for some months. (but it will not reach the previous frenzy with 3x or 4x MSRP, "only" 2x MSRP which is ok as an investment in my opinion)1 point

People pay hundreds for a 10 dollar action figure. Somewhat rare ow availability anything is possible with supply and demand.1 point

Well their it is folks it's official Amazon will carry the set. Glad I sold all Mine but one.1 point

I will be selling my only copy soon and hedging my bets. Stocking up on things with a actual EOL soon instead. $200 tied up to a set that just got released and will be available readily (IMO) in 2015 isn't worth holding onto. I don't tuck sets away forever yet. Dont have the money flow to do that.1 point

Let me parse statements made by Lego employees: Lego Shop at Home phone rep: "X is retiring. We're not making any more." What they are thinking: "Lego will be pleased with me for selling so much product. I have no idea whether it's retired." Lego store employee: "I really shouldn't do this but here, you can buy two Tumblers. We have no idea when they will make more" What they are thinking: "Sweet, my store's gonna hit my sale target and blow past it. I know we're getting Tumblers in every few weeks for the next year."1 point

Too bad I don't have anymore VC's to trade with you. Yeah, sucks just missing a 20% off sale Just order from playvaluetoys.com (direct VC link cut and paste doesn't work for me) speedsausage...cheaper than TRU. Sets/packaging are always good from my experience. Good luck...enjoy your Halloween build.1 point

Obviously, Lego should throw price to the side, cater only to adults, and build 2,500+ piece sets only, That way every model can be as grand as these reviewers think they should be.1 point

My order of 2 x Cantina and 10 x DS Troopers arrived today in a nice sturdy box, with thick reenforced brown packing tape, more than enough packing, and minty contents. I would order from them again if the right deal comes along.1 point

since i'm still feeling bummed like many about the HHs, i needed to get my lego on after 2 mojito drinks last night w/ the wife . i worked out a trade with a fellow member for an empty 10178 box for the loose set recently purchased. i sense an upcoming build / review thread. 1 loose 10226 sopwith camel (no box) for $79. 2 batcaves from amazon. Picked up all ironman minifigs my son and i needed (avg'd $5.50 each including war machine) to build that Lego kids club moc from last year. yay! my son and i are both happy. PDF link below for the build. http://cache.lego.com/r/club/-/media/Club/Markets/US/Club%20codes/STARK.pdf1 point
