  2. Selling isn't for everyone. Most transactions most of the time go fine. Some do not, and you do have to be prepared to take some losses. It doesn't matter where you sell. If you sell most places online (and certainly Amazon, eBay, and anywhere you take PayPal), you're subject to their buyer protection policies which mean that you take returns and all those risks. If you sell in your own brick and mortar stores, you have shoplifters and kid damage and credit card chargebacks. If you sell on Craigslist you risk mugging and wasting a lot of time. If you sell only online through obscure venues accepting only postal money orders, you risk not selling much. Like the news, the information you get here is skewed: generally, if it bleeds it leads so if someone has a bad situation, it gets posted here. The majority, the good or uneventful ones, don't.

  10. My wife couldn't keep a straight face when I acted dumb over the popularity of this set. I was constantly saying. "WOW. thst is amazing. I had no idea". ????

  11. This feels like a harsh comment for a moderator to make on this forum. Certainly to Neosphinx who has been an active contributor to the content on the forums in a constructive manner. Looking to reduce your crowd?

  17. About displaying this set, you can remove a wing so it takes less room on a shelf. And about investing, I think it will be still there up to december '16, as usual (2 years on LEGO Shop at Home for technic sets). Maybe up to summer '16 if it's a huge success and not produced anymore. Will it be a winner ? Yes, like most of technics sets that are $120 and more ($120/130 models and $179/199 models). Because of the color scheme, power functions included, big in size, great b-model (one of the best b-model ever), etc. But I would wait for a discount, plenty of time to get this baby. Note that I were wrong for the price on my previous post, 3 months ago: it's finally $139 when I thought $129... lego has increased their price... (but I guessed right for the 42024 ^^ )

  18. You guys are so heartless. To give chima fire bikes to orphans, sick childs, etc. ? Don't you think they suffer enough ? And about US cancels, that's because these sets are on boat to europe, he he...

  21. So it's been quite slow on the Canadian deals thread so I thought I'd post this: All Galaxy Squad sets 50% off, makes for good gifts if not for investment. Sept 27th, spend $100 or more and earn 30x airmiles. Free Geoffrey the Giraffe ($5.99 value) when you spend $30 or more on any Lego set (they say any, but it excludes Galaxy Squad...) Also bonus airmiles for buying other Legos but not worth posting.

  22. Bought a Tumbler. I don't know why. I don't want to build it, it is too early to invest in it, and I hate flipping. I'm sure I'll find something to do with it.

  23. I love Emazers. He is like someone who works for Goldman Sachs and drops in to share key insider information and then quickly departs. Ed would love to have your conjecture on all the topics more often. (sincere)

  28. It's also called the "alternative model". Technics sets are "two in one" (like creators sets -except the creator expert- are "three in one"). You have to download the instructions, unfortunately, because lego is too greedy to give you those. The b-model for the cargo is an hovercraft:

  30. Stop crying about the new run. Of course its a new run. the initial run was depleted on day 1. backorders will be fulfilled, leftovers will go to the stores. this is nothing unexpected. better buy what you can, because its your last chance. Edit: i do hope prices online drop to $30s so i can buy them all.

  31. The owners of this board will be launching Brick Classifieds before too long and from what I have read they will also be offering authorize.net in addition to Paypal. Hopefully they will expand that to Stripe and Amazon Payments in the future. IMO the days of just listing your item on ebay and letting them bring traffic are coming to an end. Selling successfully in the future is going to require more hustle. I am hoping Alibaba opens a P2P platform and offers no fees for a few years like they did in China. They would get insane numbers.

  33. They have finally figured out how to add additional runs to high-priced items when originally scheduled to retire. Beware a new HH run! And if they are using their factories for this, it explains the shortage of newer sets.

  37. Great, the Lion Chi Temple will do very well on Xmas but you can resell it 139e right now to calm down your wife ! About the 3 other sets, respectively: 68e is awsesome! great 44e is ok 88e is ok FYI my best deals for these sets are: 88e (not a real deal, I just wanted some RIGHT NOW at that moment. Note that many people were able to get some at 68e shipping incl. on amazon.co.uk) 42e 80e If I were you I would take 2 or 3 of each set. (let's say 3 spaceship + 2 houses + 3 republic ***.)

  42. Why do people think ri will go down. Even if there is a small number in every lego store. Not everyone will go to lego store to get one and probably still limit of one. Then done

  43. The train did not last, the last ship did not last, this will not last. Lego would not admit a mistake and reissue this with printed rather than stickers. A fork is stuck in this set, it just needs a carving knife. I am loading up on 10/1.

  44. Picked up 4 MISB The Zombies 9465 for $120 each. I know the set is probably near the top of it's value, but I may hold on to them a bit and see. I figured worse case scenario, I could flip for a few bucks... If JAISONLINE hoards his stash for a while, maybe they keep going up, up, up! I'm actually pretty bullish on the whole Monster Fighters theme as a whole having sold some nice lots recently. Now I wish I would have bought even more...(Just have a few vampyre castles left)...

  47. Yesterday, I built the 6090 Royal Knight's Castle I received this as a gift a couple of weeks ago so I probably will not replace the missing minifigs (1/2 of them) but I will buy the 4 missing pieces as they are cheap. As I did not have the instructions, I had to work with the online set; unfortunately the first 15 steps (of 57) are rotated 90 degrees so that made it challenging. I forgot how neat the 90s castles were (I was a city builder, one of my brothers was the castle man)
