  2. I disagree now sugar. You call me I'll tell you when GE, HH, SC any ol' set you wanna talk about gonna retire and how much it will be worth in 6 months baby.
  3. Bag 13 contains Gandalf and begins the 5th level - the attic. The attic stores extra weapons and armor and has a drop-down ladder: Bag 14 starts the top of the tower - the "spire": Bag 15 puts the finishing touches on the spire: The finished product: Overall, it's a very impressive set at around 30" tall! TreeBeard is 9" tall and the 5 minifigs + eagle are pretty sweet. (Although for $200, it would be nice to have a couple more figs). The tower is, obviously, nearly 1 color; but uses nice building techniques and contains lots of cool details. I expect this set to appreciate nicely after EOL.
  4. Somebody should do Arctic expeditions meet Santa's Workshop display. Isn't finding Santa the goal of their expedition all along ?
  5. I finally picked up the Tower of Orthanc. Here is the build. First, the box: The contents. 17 numbered bags 1-15 (two 3s and two 5s), the eagle bag and the manuals/stickers: Bag #1 contains an Orc and Treebeard's lower half: Bag #2 finishes off TreeBeard: Bag #3 builds the base/dungeon of Orthanc:
  6. I am going out on the limb here, but it seems to be that there are problems with your expectations, not with this thread...
  7. Enrico Pilazzo! Enrico Pilazzo!
  8. Not yet, they have 4 of them, but they are marked $40 for some reason. They have the 2 x small pink and 2 x small blue for $15 each, so I may pick up those. Here's what the rest of it looks like. They've added some new product the past few weeks.
  9. Well it's a risk we may have to take. I am not going to hide the fact that we will be trying to do a few different things here and there. My goal was to never just go out and duplicate these other sites. There will be things you like and don't. The beauty is, we are allowed to make changes. But also, over time, maybe if you like what's going on here and things are working out, perhaps you will find a way to change the way you do things. It's like that commercial where the guy doesn't invest in Twitter because he says.. "who is going to use something with 140 characters". I bet a lot of people thought that was a bad idea. Will this be the next Twitter? Not exactly, but it will be a product that will show people what they are getting when they hit that purchase button.
  10. I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this, but I noticed over the weekend that USPS will now pick up First Class packages without needing a Priority Mail package to be picked up as well. This seemingly minor tweak to their policy will save me from having to drop first class packages at the PO. Check out the website - the "Ground" designation below the line (and the line itself) is now gone, and the "First Class Package" designation now sits between all the other package types. I requested pick up on three packages yesterday, and pick up was confirmed. https://tools.usps.com/go/ScheduleAPickupAction!input.action
  11. If you buy this, I think you will have a easy time identifying the sets. It looks like one of the orange boxes has a lot of instructions.
  12. Also looks like Colby City Showdown behind the canoe.
  13. In the far away yellow box is that the limo from 3222?
  14. EXACTLY. i just cleaned up over 10 posts. please keep the posts on-topic. metric vs non-metric, Fahrenheit to Celsius, etc.. is way off topic. Stay on target!
  15. It will launch in October. I couldn't have said it better myself
  16. Excellent deal. Hope all works well and stuff is in good shape.
  17. I demand them to be retired!
  18. so about those GE........
  19. I really don't know what you're talking abouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut
  20. As for the figures, Leia should have yellow hands and hers and Han's legs are switched. No big deal, just FYI.
  21. I see what you are saying about the grey piece at the bottom of the picture. If the price is good, I wouldn't worry about that one piece, even though they can be pricey. The other one looks good, maybe just a bad angle. Can you message him/her to make sure that all pieces are authentic Lego? This is one of those deals where you say yes up front and ask questions later to make sure you're in line first unless they are holding it for you right now.
  22. Yes, that is Cloud City. The big grey arcs are the landing pad for Slave I. You'll want to make sure the figures are there if he's selling as complete, they are the majority of the sets' worth.

Nuclear missiles.!!! This whole Lego thing is one massive cover-up.... Or what Ex1 said .
  24. Took a small drive and picked up a couple of $49 sail barges. Passed on two $49 AT-TE. I had them in my cart and put them back. That set just doesn't do it for me. Original trilogy only. Would rather spend that money on better deals or exclusives. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker
  25. It actually only took about 3 hours I think - it was hard to tell with many "daddy" breaks in between.
  26. Exciter1's little honey-hole...
  27. That's for Sept. 29 to Oct. 6th for us 'Muricans. Back order date is slipping.
  28. I have 2 Jabba Palaces and 2 Helm's Deep waiting for me at a Mom & Pop pharmacy. I really hope they run a 25% off toys sale sometime closer to the holidays, but they may be gone by then.
  29. WhiteFang of Eurobricks has a review up for all to see!
  30. I found this animation which after the way how YouTube has been acting for me lately seemed very appropriate.

  32. they used it to look for captain america
  33. If I could still get a few more for $400 I would
  34. I did some similar small scale tests like that and it would be interesting to see on a larger scale. Just for the most part it seems so random. I know if I list an identical product once a day for a week straight the last one will always go for the most as people think you are out and its there last chance. That one seems to always be consistent. Some products I get a lot of quantity and just list 2 a week and one will go for double or triple the other one. Its just so random I don't know if you could get a consistent answer. I've terapeaked stuff over the years and you could find certain consistencies with selling times, day of week etc but then would try the same item on the "best selling time and day" vs the so called worst and the worst day would go for more than the best. In the end I think it comes down to who happens to be looking for that particular item when it is active at that time. The product also matters. You could list an Ipod and it will sell for pretty much the same every time throughout the day any day of the week. Now if you have that one rare item that only comes along once in awhile it needs that buyer to be looking for it at that time. Thats why those type items are usually best with fixed price and / or best offer.
  35. From my (suspicious) point of view, if a buyer really wants to return something, they will do what they need to to make sure that happens. So, if they are making a bogus "not as described" claim and they want to ensure that they win, they just need to "damage" the item for it to qualify. Rather than having someone "damage" something, I would rather just get it back in as good a condition as possible to resell to someone else. All it takes is just one "new" set that becomes "used/missing parts/minifigures" to make it worthwhile to make a return as smooth as possible.
  36. All accurate, but thanks for throwing "fair" in there. Great shirt, too. One thing we do well in Kansas: make fun of ourselves.
  37. If you read my earlier posts, I stated that we are about the "small guy/gal." Our setup will let the small seller shine. Price you product properly. List the item correctly and creatively and it stands a good chance. Plus there will be other options about highlighting sets going forward. We will deal with big sellers as they come and work with them as well. As for the advertising, see my above posts. We have some solid ideas and will advertise heavily.
  38. Yes. In a situation of multiple sets, just show a picture of the multiple sets that indicate you have them. Sellers have to realize that photos help protect them. If they show a picture of an item, it takes away many possible issues later on in case of fraudulent buyers or claims. Experienced sellers will eventually be able to circumvent the photo requirement. Another idea would be to require a photo on items over a certain price threshold. If people are selling $10 poly bags, that might not warrant a photo., just a generic image. Here's the thing though, the listing page is very attractive IMO and a quality photo goes a long way in selling that item. Just my 2 cents as a buyer of THOUSANDS of LEGO sets.

Hmm. I just noticed your signature for the first time, and I have to say, I find it offensive. In the Age of ***** , everyone deserves to be a winner, whether they put in the work or not. I should wake up each day to find a whole pile of promos sitting on the pillow next to me, as a reward for breathing successfully on my own. The idea that I have to spend $99 to get the promo I want is incredibly discriminatory against people that don't have $99 to spend. Let's all try and check our privilege, folks...
  40. ROFL! I think I saw that set. Special VIP Edition comes with female scientists wearing EXO-Suits...

There's no rush. My sources at Lego tell me there's a new mega-exclusive coming out this winter that will be a blend of GE, DS, CV, SC, HH, TB, and of course SSD. I've already preordered up to the limit.

Oh it will end, lol. If you are lucky no one won. If you are unlucky, the first low bidder will win because no one else could bid. I am jealous of whoever it was that got that DS for $320 today. I bet the seller is piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiised
  43. I don't know what it is, somehow, Halloween themed MOC's come across as edgy and cool, while the Chrismas ones just seem a little cheesy. The one above is by all measures an excellent MOC, but I can't help but picture it in the home of an old lady with WAY too many cats. I would add that I think the Grand Carousel would look good with a FEW slight winter mods.
  44. I like this set as an investment, but remember investors, to make top dollar from this set, you need to pair it with 75005, Rancor's Pit, to maximize value. For every Jabba's Palace you buy, you need to buy a Rancor's pit.
