Jeff and his programming minions are making nice progress on the Classifieds. I feel really bad always saying this because I've been saying it for a long time, but the newest version looks and works great. There are just do many small details that always need to be addressed when dealing with money. It has to be done right or people will lose faith immediately. I will just leave you with one main idea of the Classifieds...We are seller friendly.3 points

Guess what decided to surface this fine afternoon? Don't really care for all the stickers... But otherwise I really like it! EDIT: Video seems to not want to work... Link is correct. If you would like to see the pictures check out Just2Good's channel on Youtube. Pictures are NOT confidential.3 points

I'm very sorry that you're having to deal with this. Has your other account been suspended as well? While I think our favorite amphibian will be best able to answer your questions (you may want to PM Frog) I will say that I never use stock photos. I have also never heard of an account being suspended for the reasons you cite.3 points

I'm reckoning that the Macks' mean GOOD seller friendly. Buttheads and scammers will be shown the door with a boot unless I miss my guess. With a seller friendly environment, more sellers are attracted, which means more competition, better prices for buyers, and lots of good sellers to choose from. I call that pretty buyer friendly and look forward to buying here.2 points

I bought an Imperial Flagship 10210 used missing three small pieces but comes with manual and box for $150 on ebay from a 1 feedback seller, doh. I figured I would take that chance as it was too good to pass up.. It showed as shipped just now. Keeping the fingers crossed.2 points

I did that but it still showed up in my ID history. Maybe I was being too paranoid. I might try Bricklink, too. I've bought several sets from there and enjoyed the experience. It's nice dealing direct with AFOLs. I'm looking into Amazon too. I'm so timid now after this eBay ordeal.1 point

I have almost finished building mine. Had a very similar issue to you and thought I was missing a couple of those same 1x2 tiles. Turns out in the step before or a few before you put two tiles on some sort of a hinge piece that clips on next to each seat kind of like a mini control panel (sorry set is at home and I'm not so hard to describe exactly). In that step it was supposed to be the printed keyboards used and not the blank tiles, it was hard to tell without looking very closely in decent light. That meant I then had the 10 free for the step with the seats.1 point

There was a Cloud City guard with the second last Slave 1. I put him in my old 7119 twin pod cloud car to keep the old style Lobot company1 point

The factory is still pumping out new ones or they just have a ton of already made stock they are getting rid of?1 point

I've seen similar deals in my city. All of them were a scam. If the prices are too good to be true, they usually are.1 point

Well, I hope Jack Bauer gets his own interrogation room with an electrified bed and waterboarding bench.1 point

Decision making time. A good % of 10123 Cloud City's current value is due to it's Boba Fett. I believe only Leia and Lando are exclusives now w/o refreshes or can be made from other minifig parts. Hmmm. By the way, yet another set Ed named before other people. update : luke's legs are still exclusive to this set. at least 10123's fett's arms are still unique (not reused with this set).1 point

I don't think TLC wants Elsa's Palace and Cinderella Castle to be competing1 point

I'm sure that discussion will commence shortly. Seriously though, Star Wars + UCS + Boba Fett. All the boxes are ticked here. I don't even really enjoy building spaceship sets of any kind but even I want one.1 point

The coupon code is 941612846. Says it's good on toys and much of the Lego is on sale. Might stack nicely but unfortunately their mobile site scums and won't show me more than 10 sets.1 point

Excellent! They`ve actually managed to do a great job, another great set for 2014 has been revealed!1 point

Watching the cat from the tree, is that a saying in English? Sounds a little like "don't worry, we will wash that little pig" (a phrase I actually do use, always gets a laugh out of people)1 point

You should be concerned about that person because there is very little chance that someone sitting on 360 copies of a set, which likely cost somewhere close to $40k, is going to be pricing them higher than a small time reseller like yourself. One of the things that has happened over the last few years to the secondary Lego market is that the number of larger resellers has grown significantly. As a result, there is more price competition than there ever has been before. When you have multiple resellers sitting on 100+ copies of a single set that retails for over $100 and is rarely discounted, that is a recipe for pretty fierce price competition that will depress the price of the set until those resellers begin selling through their inventory. I could be wrong and this could be the one guy who has pie-in-the-sky dreams of selling all 360 copies of the Camper for $500+, but I think that someone who is willing to sink $40k into a single set is going to be far more pragmatic. What you should be hoping for is that the demand for the Camper van is so off the charts that he'll sell through that stock in 6 months.1 point

I understand Ed gave his opinion. I just reacted that I did not understand that reselling was an american phenomenom. I do not take it personal at all. Was just an opinion. Offcourse reselling Lego is bigger in the US. Lego reacts to it accordingly. As it does react differently on other continents. I will stop giving my opinion or react on others opinion. It was no harm intended.1 point

Yes, there clearly is a difference between US and EU/Asia/Australia/etc. However, does this mean the thread had to be moved/closed? As us europeans are in the minority on this site. I believe we paid a more than fair contribution to the thread. For us europeans and other continents except US the discussion is still alive and kicking. So I do not quite understand the reasoning above. I am still curious if there is some data available on how the members geographically are divided. Which % are americans, Ausies, etc. On a side note: I think reselling is not more of an American Phenomena. For example the dutch have had a longer trading history. The story even goes we traded New Amsterdam (currently New York).1 point
-
I am thinking the same way. Keep in mind that Europe always is a bit "behind" on the US. It takes a bit more time here to appreciate. This has advantages but it means we (Europeans) just have to wait a bit longer to sell. In Europe people seem to be a bit more conservative in spending money and they watch the cat from the tree first. If this set will get the retired tag at ShopatHome it will do just fine.1 point

My first flip was from a treehouse into an above ground swimming pool when I was very young. Well, at least I made it into the pool. I didn't flip much after that....unless you want to count 'the bird'. On a more related note, I remember back when I did the whole auction thing years ago that I had purchased a box lot of odd glassware some of which were really old 'carnival glass' for dirt cheap. I ended up selling everything separately to individuals for more than I paid. Heck, just one of the pieces turned out to be so rare that it paid for the whole lot by itself. I did keep one of the items because it was this nice deep aqua greenish hue plus it looks nice in the bathroom.1 point

Same as Stud-u-like, how did you guys manage that! Where did you buy them from? I had mine very close to MSRP, hence the need to wait much longer to make the whole thing worth while! I just bought one of them at1 point

You do always remember your first. For me it was Hulk's helicarrier. Bought at 35 sold at 90 plus shipping. Still remember the moment the phone went ca-ching. Pulled it out and went 'wow it sold' Congrats almost 1000% return after all is said and done. Wish they all were like that.1 point

Sold a used 10198 Tantive IV (no box) for $180 shipped. If only every sale could be like this one as I Picked this set up for $45 at the beginning of July1 point

Sold a 10133 BNSF GP-38 Locomotive, NISB for $330. This was my first foray into buying a retired set, that already had some value associated with it, and flipping it for more. Found it on Goodwill a few months ago. Couldn't pass it up, and bought it at about $220. Not a bad return on 3 months hold.1 point

My first flip was DC this past Christmas. Buy at $56 sell at $128. U always remember your first1 point

It is now back down to the 28th. I am going to go ahead and buy 2 more, (a total of 4). Seeing that it is close to a 50$ increase in just the last month, I would recommend for other people who have not already bought this set to do it as soon as possible.1 point

So I sold a few used SW figs a week ago, mostly Hoth rebels with a couple of Taun-Taun. Not a big deal, just some bits sorted from bulk. Anyway I get a mail from the Lady I sold them too on eBay today, saying that the Taun-Taun weren1 point

You don't need LEGO when you're stilling moonshine, trapping, hunting, or making babies.1 point

Yeah they sold like hot cakes in my area and nobody was trying to sell them in the parking lot for a 2x profit either.1 point

At first, when I read the topic title, I thought it was about hiding lego for the wife or IRS.1 point

I have had one on ebay for a few weeks at 220 with no takers. Not sure its a great flip. Two bodies were just found on a Maersk ship that looks just like the lego ship. http://www.cnn.com/2014/02/19/world/asia/seychelles-maersk-deaths/ Maybe I should add two dead minifigures to the auction?1 point

Firstly, this is my first post so I apologise for any wrongdoings or rule-breakings. >< After many years of not buying LEGO due to zero/little income, I've finally managed to start saving to get the SSD. I've been reading over some other threads and nobody seems to know much for certain so I'm hoping for any kind of solid info, even just the tiniest bit, but I've been incredibly paranoid lately about the SSD going EOL. It appears they're quite unpredictable at LEGO about the products ending. I'd love this set more than any other, although it may cause a few sparks around here as I understand most of you are largely buyers & sellers and not really builders lol.1 point
