Basically, they may be willing to dispute the chargeback on your behalf. That doesn't mean they're going to win against the cc company, and if they don't, you don't either. Meanwhile, the money will be taken out of your account or backup funding source. If this buyer did the same thing to a lot of sellers, PayPal will be more likely to try to dispute it with the cc company. If you're the only one, you're probably out 12 bucks. If you had a brick and mortar store, you'd have shoplifters (and still have chargebacks ) - it's annoying as heck when it happens, but you figure it into your cost of doing business and you move on.

My parents would have thought this totally acceptable. Back when I was 7 you could leave your kids for 90 minutes in the toy store. Especially me, i would take that long to decide what I wanted. As a parent today, I don't even leave my kids unattended in my back yard.

Not sure if anyone has talked much about who might be buying or interested in buying but I wanted one for my niece and one for my daughter. This is the kind of set that could be a very special graduation gift in 10-15 years. How many other Dads/Uncles are thinking the same. I think the sky is the limit and if it is gone. Not a mistake. The set was never available in the US.

It could go either way. The polybag may be in high demand during Christmas which would make the price go higher, but it may not. I would sell them now just to be safe. Polybags are usually worth the most when they are just released, especially the promos.

Last few days on Craigslist, sold 7939 Cargo Train for $175, 7744 Police Headquarters for $50(used), 9471 Uruk Hai Army for $40, and 9472 Weathertop for $50, and 10215 ObiWan Starfighter for $100. Not tons of profit, but no shipping and ebay fees either.

Those who don't think this set will do well may not be thinking of the potential crowd that may be buying this set down the road. It is a set of 3 different professions. And would be great as a graduation present for college instead of getting the typical money or jewelry. Being a 22 year old female, who just graduated from university, I would have loved to receive this set. It is small enough that it doesn't take up a lot of space. Also, when little girls grow up to be anthropologists or chemists or astrophysicists they will be making enough money to be able to buy this set at a higher cost in x amount of years. Just my 2 cents. There are too many males here thinking Star Wars are the only good sets.

Not sure if you following closely this thread, but lego did send letters indication more to be produced, but it remains to be seen what amounts the mean by "more", maybe only to fill backorders

They are printed. Everything else like the "North Pole" post, painting, "Santa's Workshop" sign, billboard and welcome mat is a sticker.

As a seller, I've had numerous chargebacks filed against me. I was even a target of some scammers and hit with a large series of chargebacks on the low end items and also the sale of several iPads. In the end, as long as I had signature confirmation on orders over $250 and delivery confirmation on orders under $250, then I was covered by seller protection and never lost a single penny. I've never had an item not as described chargeback, only for alleged items not rec'd. Always use tracking info if you can't afford to lose a chargeback. Sent from my iPhone using Brickpicker

After your previous post, I just picked up the last 2 RIs at my local TrU. Got the manager to check inventory, nothing left around.

The world might not have changed as much as you think. Perception almost certainly has though. Just lookup "Mean world syndrome". And well - be surprised. While I don't think 90 minutes of "playtime" in even a Lego store is a good choice by the parent, arrest it a totally inappropriate response. If the police or store owners think that a Lego store isn't safe enough for children they should probably think hard about why, and do something about _that_.

It really does make a difference when you are a parent. Some coworkers at work had this discussion and the guys without kids think no big deal. But when you are responsible for a little person and you hear all the terrible things that can happen to kids these days it's eye opening. I agree arrest is an extreme measure. I fit in the age range you stated and I have a child. Granted she is 4 months I couldn't fathom leaving my child alone in a store with absolutely no one I trust. With that being said, at that age I had no problem being unattended and I'd rather would have been there then shopping with my mom. I disagree with the mother's choices but arresting her is a little extreme

Wow it seems there are a lot of 20/30 something males responding to this that don't have kids. I think maybe those folks overestimate the age they used to roam free. I have a 7 year old son and have no doubt he would likely stay put for 90 minutes in a LEGO store however my wife nor I would ever leave them out of our sight for more than a minute. The world is not the same when we were that age nor is a 7 year old safe alone in a public place. I would be surprised to hear anyone with a child that age to disagree. Between the parts I have on hand and 3 Bricklink orders, I was able to put 2 x SDCC batmobiles together for about $30. Now I need to figure out the cheapest way to get my hands on the Juniors minifigs.

I have two children. Never in the history of humankind has any mother been blessed with smarter, more attractive, better-behaved daughters than I have. It would have been stupid, tacky, and dangerous to leave them alone in a store for 90 minutes when they were aged 7. I don't have any problem with this woman being arrested, hopefully it will frighten her enough to act like she has a brain in the future, even if it's only an act. Even presuming that one can pedophile-proof a 7 year old (you can't - hey little boy, like LEGO? Come out to my car and I'll give you some free ones! Heck, half the 27 year olds on this site would probably fall for that one at the LEGO store but at least they're big enough to fight back), in what universe is it okay to use store clerks as free babysitters? The answer to someone's earlier question: how old is old enough? Not 7. Maybe a few 10 year olds, probably most 12 year olds. I, too, was raised in the days when children were turned loose out the back door basically as soon as they could walk. The good old days weren't always good and my siblings and my friends and I experienced some unhappy outcomes from what some would call freedom, some would call neglect. And "what we used to do" doesn't make it okay in today's society - like it or not, rules and norms change.

Beyond comprehension? Have you done your math on the 21104? If you have and don't see why, goes beyond my comprehension. You seem to forget that sets from multiple vendors and the consequences you pointed out are there for 99% of the sets Lego releases, thus reinforcing the hoarding need for the remaining 1% of these limited sets. Look at the prices that this one and 21109 are already fetching. And it depends on what you call a nice stash. Maybe Lego will play blind if you order a wee bit over the limit for certain sets, but if you try to pull a "I'm to smart to be caught by you" you are rolling the dice there and ban hammer may be waiting for you.

So, I suppose we can expect to see this pop up on target.com for $24.99 soon.

Got what is likely my best deal yet. Was in Walmart with my family. Always check the friends hoping for a discount (I have never seen one in store in Canada) Noticed right away that a Heartlake Stables set was right in front where the Sunshine Ranch tag was for 89.99 Grabbed the Stables and found a scanner --> scanned at 25. woohoo. To bad there was only one but still very pleased

I am just getting back in to building. This set helped bring me back. In addition to TMNT toys, Ghostbusters and Legos were my biggest collections as a kid. I finally picked this up yesterday. It was a really fun build. Finally got some decent light. I moved the steering wheel to the side rather than the middle after seeing some others here do the same.
