I'd like a banned badge as a preemptive move. When they're reading my posts and what not, they'll see the badge and figure, "we've already got this guy, move long."9 points

Best thing about the HH is that it can easily fit with other modulars. And as everybody know, modulars perform extremely well when EOL. Guys who will be disappointed are guys who don't have any in their brickfolio (IMHO).4 points

This set is too damn cool NOT to do well post eol. I've already got 13, shooting for at least 20. Patience is the key. I won't be selling any until at least three years after eol. Personally, I think those who talk bad about this set and spread opinions as fact secretly love it too. They are just trying to thin the investor herd. Anyone who has a clue should be in deep on this set.4 points

Hello... We decided to create a "Banned" icon for the forums. It is in reference to being "banned" from LEGO Shop at Home for excessive buying of sets. After the discussion in the LEGO Account Blocked thread(marcandre's idea), I thought it was a good idea to see how many people were banned from shopping on LEGO Shop at Home. By making more people aware of the practice, more members might be able to avoid this unfortunate situation. I want this thread to be used for the discussion of banned situations/members and also to request a BANNED ICON for your forum "awards." In no way is this a mark of dishonor, because it can happen to anybody...at anytime. I am curious to see how widespread this practice is. I think if we as a community can work together on this topic and figure out what triggers a ban from LEGO, we can rest a little easier and might even make LEGO happy at the same time... NOTE: If you want a BANNED icon, just let Jeff, a Mod or myself know in this thread or PM. Thanks. Ed3 points

I got some crazy Kmart action today. I was there last night and noticed a new endcap display of Simpsons minifigs. I scanned one on a whim and it came up as series 11 at $2.99. I also had the good luck to have 5 or 6 SYWR coupons active and about $140 in rewards points banked. After running through all of the coupons and depleting my point balance, I walked out today with 115 Simpsons figs for an out of pocket cost of $134.3 points

On the other side, if it's not true, there will be a urge for the 2012 Dinos sets and yours will gain even more value. (now you can click on "Like This" ^^ )3 points

Dug this one up on the google: Or, if you want to go a bit more metal: Probably wouldn't translate very well to user award size though3 points

Got what is likely my best deal yet. Was in Walmart with my family. Always check the friends hoping for a discount (I have never seen one in store in Canada) Noticed right away that a Heartlake Stables set was right in front where the Sunshine Ranch tag was for 89.99 Grabbed the Stables and found a scanner --> scanned at 25. woohoo. To bad there was only one but still very pleased3 points

I am curious though, if Lego does do a Jurassic Park series, will The Brickqueen do a review? Sent from my iPhone using Brickpickeraaaaaaaswssssswssa3 points

Some very definitive statements by you about this set. Do you have some sort of inside info the rest of us aren't privy to regarding production levels & retirement? These are your opinions, NOT FACTS, so maybe don't state them as such. There are some pretty big time people on here who believe otherwise about this set. It has been available for under 2 years (Sept. 2012) - if 2 years from now it's still lingering (& it is possible) maybe these statements would be accurate. Bottom line, it's an exclusive, it's the first & maybe only haunted house Lego will ever produce & it's an awesome looking set & a great build, so let others formulate their own opinion. I for one, am investing FWIW.3 points

There is no way all of these big sets are gone this year. Whats funny is that a lot of people were afraid of a bubble - but we are all creating one by jumping on all of these sets the moment they are in stock. Right now we are grabbing them up so quick, they stay OOS creating the possibility that they are out - but then we take that as a sign they might be gone.2 points

I have 3 Lego stores near me and have called Lego hundreds of times and have literally never once had a bad experience. The only thing that this exo suit thing has taught me is how greedy people are. Butt hurt in 3......2.....1.......2 points

These are for my personal Collection. Gonna get a few more not using VIP though or same person. I don't need ban crap I actually like getting early accesses and promotional polys.1 point

I have at least 5 of those Black Friday brick boxes I picked up for $10 each, so they should reap a nice little profit. I sold some more Hero Factory bags today I purchased during KMart clearance.1 point

Legoland California didn't receive any. I talked with their merchandise person. She said their ordering has been screwed up for the list couple weeks, so ago the sets that came out yesterday probably wouldn't be in for a couple of weeks. Just to clarify, I think Lego only releases a NEW holiday set once a year. Often they will carry over a set over multiple years, releasing them only during the holiday season.1 point

So i had placed multiple orders to get more Mini Mini Coopers, but only the first order Mini is in process. All the other Mini got cancelled... This makes risking a banhammer to get multiple 21109 less attractive. I am thinking of buying 10 on Bricklink for1 point

Article I believe is from yesterday. I have noticed that things in Europe and some other foreign countries use the day/month/year format. We in the U.S. use month/day/year format.1 point

Something occurred to me in catching up with this thread. I'm speculating that the Monster Fighter line was a mixed success for LEGO, definitely not the big seller they might have hoped it could have been. But with the HH continuing well past the shelf life that MF is having maybe LEGO will consider a one-a-year big exclusive Halloween based set much like the one-a-year released Winter (Christmas) themed sets that seem to do well. If the HH production lingers into 2015 then maybe another Halloween exclusive will be released Sept. 2015 and a new one every Sept afterwards. This might be a better way for LEGO to tap into that pent up Halloween product demand without committing to a wide spread line of releases like the MF was. Ultimately, hopefully, we can see things like a 'Haunted Graveyard', 'Abandoned Keep', 'Witch's Spooky House', 'Haunted House II' being put out year after year!1 point

Haha, I guess if I was a more patient person, I could have waited until that review came up. ....Unfortunately I'm not exactly good at 'just waiting'. Ah, it was a nice challenge anyway and majority of the build is there with a few odd exceptions of differently colored bricks and some bits of detail. This fix shouldn't take too long, "knock on wood". ^_^1 point

So now I gotta turn myself into the weirdo with a digital scale weighing lego sets in the aisles of stores.... I'll mutter to myself, missing the minifigs, missing the minifigs, ya never know, ya never know. AFOL, EOL, follow the codes! The codes knows...1 point

Another of my $7 Wolverine Choppers for $70. I'm selling one a week and am going to miss these gems when I'm out. Turns out the buyer works just down the street from my office so I made the drop by the Toronto Skydome in an all cash transaction (no ebay or Paypal fees justifies any walk). Felt like a mafioso standing incognito on the street corner selling something that "fell off the back of a truck".1 point

The market offers far better results than that. The CAGR for the Dow Jones for the past 5 years is 15.69%. Not too many lego sets offer that kind of return. There is also alot less risk and work when buying and selling the Dow compared to reselling lego sets. The simple fact is out of the hundreds of sets TLG makes every year only a handful will beat the market. If you don't choose those 4-5 sets correctly you are doing yourself a huge disservice. And if you are going to pay yourself or employees an actual wage to list, pack and do customer service then even those 4-5 good sets won't beat the market consistently. This is a great hobby, a mediocre business, and a poor investment. I understand nobody on these boards wants to hear that but there are way too many rose colored glasses around here.1 point

People in Detroit just rip the stuff open and take. Never come across a reseal but I have checked the seals pretty good when something looks shelf worn. Detroit - we aren't subtle we just plow through. But you have to hit the walmart because the 50% discounts is just too much to pass on. There are only a few other "collectors" that I know of that are hitting the same rounds that I am but we are all just buyers. No one has sstarted done the path of stealing and returning. But honesty is a funny thing - I got a few extra simpson minifig packs in my cart by accident and I went through self checkout so I didn't ring them up. Found them later when I counted the packs and I went back and paid for them. I sleep better at night knowing I paid for them. Just becasue you can steal doesn't mean you should but there are way too many out there who do. Sorry, some people just suck but what they put in the world is what they are going to get back. I still don't understand why counting cards would be illegal? If the casinos don't like how players have figured out their game, then they should switch to another game.1 point
