Just had someone raid my "sets w/o minifigures" section of my Ebay store; he picked up 14 fig-less sets for a grand total of $207. Packaged weight of 17lbs, shipped FedEx for $18.62. Yesterday, I had someone grab all six of my Shock Troopers from 75046 at $14 apiece. The day before that, I had someone buy 9 minifigs for $95. I've had a good amount of small sales the last few days too. I'm overjoyed, since April sales have been killing me. I've made more in the last two days than I did in the two weeks before that. The guy who bought the instant Lego part collection (just add water) was a really cool guy. He said that he and both his sons were big Star Wars nerds; they planned to leave the Star Wars sets intact, then use the parts from the other sets to add to their Star Wars environments/backdrops. I've always been a free builder, so it makes me happy when I know that my items are being worked into someone's grand plan. And of course it's always cool to see parents that are building along with the kids.3 points

Oh dear! We may have to diagnose you for symptoms of LEGO withdrawl. Are you having some or all of the following symptoms? Sneezing Stuffy or runny nose Sore throat Watery eyes Mild headache Mild body aches Chest pains Light-headedness Fever Reoccurring urges to destroy LEGO's Muscle spasms, particularly those used to press the "purchase" button Do you feel desperate or lost, and often wander about with no intent in mind, possibly driving to different locations you used to be interested in? And it won't happen here. People didn't have garages full of 10179. Lego is making more copies of sets and charging more per weight and this will dilute the gains after retirement.2 points

I think the one with a light blue that best matches the sky of The Simpsons minifigure box would stand out much better in my opinion.2 points

So this is a GSP package that you're shipping to Kentucky? In that case, ship it. Unless PayPal specifically sends you a note in advance saying, "Don't ship this!" you're covered.2 points

Well here is some info for those of you in the UK region. I am not sure whether getting a week to make the purchases will make a difference, but I would like to win that prize Star Wars fans around the world are getting their lightsabers ready to celebrate Star Wars1 point

It was going a lot faster as I got further into it last night. You're right. Once you can start picking out Homer's remote, Maggie's teddy bear, Nelson's bat, etc., it's a lot easier. That was a life saver for me last night. I have an LED flashlight. I went off into my living room, where it was dark, and could pretty quickly pick things out (Lisa's dress color, the 3 headed fish bowl)1 point

I miss the Commander Cody watch that I scored a bunch of for $5. I would flip the fig for $15 and the watch for $10. Good times. I remember the old Vader was a different print and would bring about $20.1 point

Great. As if SSDs aren't taking up enough room in my garage. Maybe I can stack the boxes from floor to ceiling against one wall and paint them the same color as the interior. Wife might not notice that our garage's square footage shrank overnight. Ooh1 point

they usually do 20% especially if none are left in-stock. the phone rep just needs to get approval if there's substantial evidence (doesn't always have to be pics). then again, having holes in the box, missing elements, or major box surface sticker tears (from labels) would help you get the larger discount. if the box was crushed, that would also help w/ the getting 20% discount. if amazon is anything like target.com, customer support reps also look at purchase history to make a stronger case for larger discount approvals. from what i've been told, support mgrs (who grant approvals) usually say, "it's only a box. are the items inside still complete and undamage?. of yes, 10% off at the most to avoid more postage cost and time wasted". unfort, creases are normal when mailing larger sets like this so 10% off would be considered by some as a "gift". I learned to accept creases even as painful as it was. heck, i just canceled a bricklink order consisting of 1 BP and 1 QAR because the buyer insisted on "mint" boxes arriving to him in Singapore. ha1 point

Wife goes grocery shopping last night, comes home with just over 100 packs at $3 each. "These are the ones you wanted, right?" Love that woman.1 point

Good call on the light blue Chima version. I think I'm going to go with that for the pastel color. Not overly excited about 2 cases, nor am I excited about how the blue one I used turned out. its not bad, but still too blue IMO1 point

Most of the first wave friends sets have done very well. Olivia's house, summer riding camp (toys r us), and Emma's horse trailer are the only 3 left and imo they'll be gone by xmas. So if you can find Olivia's house on sale grab a few.1 point

Spotted 30116 Rapunzel's Market Visit at Target today! Grabbed a couple. So happy! But here's the awesome part: Target's running a deal right now where you can get the 30116 polybag FREE with EACH Disney Princess set purchase. (Meaning, buy 1 DP set, get 1 free 30116 poly; buy 10 DP sets, get 10 free polys.) You can still buy the poly on its own. The DP princess sets unfortunately are not on sale, but I grabbed a bunch of 41050 sets anyway. I forgot to check how much the polys are on their own (They came up as $0 on my receipt). I also forgot to check the end date for this promotion. If anyone has this info, please post. This seems to be an in store promo only. And unadvertised. Weird!1 point

How do you know I wouldn't have offered it at my cost? You filled in the blank, not me. I never contacted the member, never mentioned a price. You just chose to assume that I would be "inflating" a price. No reason to jump to conclusions my friend. I mentioned previously that I was able to pick up a couple of boxes at Legoland California with my annual pass discount. And as much as I'd love to offer that up to everyone, the reality is that once you figure in tax, plus postage, and maybe throwing a *tiny* bone my way (like the cost of a soda or Jack-in-the-Box taco), anyone buying from me would be spending more than they would if they ordered them direct, or from the link on the top banner. If I could help out my fellow investors by getting them a deal that would save them some money, I would gladly do so. I was merely pointing out to the person that posted that there are other ways to acquire what he's looking for, other than driving 100 miles. And if he wants to throw a lot of money at this, I'm more than willing to part with a set to help him out. (Tongue firmly planted in cheek)1 point

It does open a case, and will count against a sellers defect rating in some cases. However, it's extremely unprofessional for a seller to bother you with their behind the scenes eBay problems.1 point

This is my SOP for overpriced CL lots. Just give them a standing offer and say you know how to contact me if you decide to deal. Time works wonders for that. The worst he can say is no and it is no skin off your back.1 point

Know what's "Dannnnnnnnnnnnnng"? I starting building this thing March 7th or so and just finished today (April 24). No excuses. So much time as wasted sorting / sifting through elements. ...and the prev owner did an above avg job with grouping elements by area into 7 huge ziplocks. Now I know why he wanted 3 days to get it ready for shipping. He needed to dissemble it and yet still left elements out. When I'm ready to sell, I'm just putting everything into 2 or 3 of those huge vacuum storage bags with some extra elements just in case. 10179 is the freakin Kraken of Lego sets.1 point

My biggest gripe with the movies is that they don't seem to jibe QUITE as well with the OT as I'd like. Goblins and Trolls talk,...Stone Giants......almost kind of like the Star Wars movies where the Prequels had more advanced stuff(ships, aliens, etc.) than the OT. I certainly don't mind Gandalfs concern with The Necromancer, his reasons for pushing the quest into motion, etc. etc.....it's all good connections to the OT.1 point

I have really enjoyed these movies, even having read the Hobbit book twice. I know they have extended the original story and taken some liberties to bulk up the plot, but I have loved revisiting Middle Earth and find myself getting drawn into these movies. I can't wait for the Battle of Five Armies and only wish there were more LOTR movies on the horizon from Peter Jackson.1 point

I think people need to realize there probably won't be any sort of sale on high end STAR WARS sets during the May promo. If history gives us any indication of what types of sets will be discounted, look at the unpopular small to mid sized sets near EOL. I really hate to sound like a broken record here, but members were warned numerous times over the past several months to take advantage of the Double VIP points for large sets like the UCS SSD and R2-D2. It is quite possible that the SSD will never come back into stock on Amazon and disappear from Target and Walmart in the next week. If you truly want a SSD, now is the time to buy one, while you still can get one at MSRP.1 point

Hello, My wife and I found a full box of the Simpsons minifigures at Wal-Mart. I know, not supposed to be released until May 1st, but anyway we opened the full box up to see the breakdown. Here is a link to our Youtube channel in case you are interested in seeing the figures. The detail is amazing and the accessories are really cool. Lego has outdone themselves with this, the MSRP is a higher for these than previous releases, 3.99 per instead of the regular 2.99. Here is the distribution for those who are interested: Homer 5 Marge 5 Bart 5 Lisa 4 Maggie 4 Krusty 4 Itchy 4 Scratchy 4 Ned Flanders 4 Nelson 3 Millhouse 3 Ralph 3 Mr Burns 3 Grampa 3 Chief Wiggum 3 Apu 31 point

I buy almost every Friends set that comes out. My daughter is 7 and loves them. She can put them together with little trouble. I'm sure when she grows out of them I'll clean them up, make up what sets I can with whatever pieces are left and sell them on ebay. There's always going to be parents who are going to want these for their kids. I don't expect to get rich off them but I believe they will always have resale value and you can at least recoup a good portion of what you spent on them. You can say you're real man when you sit down and play Lego Friends with your daughter.1 point
