  1. I would just like to make a quick post regarding the asking of us to change your username. We honestly get way too many of these. When you are registering for an online community, you have to realize that at some point your username will be public. There is actually bold red text on the registration form that says your username will be your public profile and no name changes will be made. We are also getting closer to the launch of Brick Classifieds and this is where it really becomes important. I have been building in a lot of security measures to help prevent fake accounts, multiple accounts, etc. We want people who are using the classifieds to feel that they know who they are dealing with. So moving forward, unless there is something majorly obscene or bad about your username, most of these requests will be ignored. Thank you

  2. Just curious, what color is the sky in the happy land of "LA-LA" Dudes bust their ass to provide you a free service and you think they owe some idiot who can't read a response?!?! (I'm not sure you are old enough but if you are, I know which way you vote.)

  3. This lot just arrived today. I have been going through it for about two hours already, and I am finding all kinds of things from sets that weren't even mentioned in the listing, in addition to what is supposed to be there. So far I have come across two Indiana jones figs, a batman fig, a TIE fighter pilot, some tan battle droids, some power miner figs, a few green army men, a dark tan raised baseplate (I am guessing from a Pharoh's quest set), and at least 20 CMFs. Also, so far it appears as if all of the important pieces from the potter sets are here. For $135, this lot should turn a tidy profit.

  4. Where are the droids? The Jawa's cant have a yard sale without droids? How are they going to stay in business? They may need to get with the Empire so they can collect welfare, droid stamps, and sign up for Empire-Care (if the website works).

  5. Yes and the is probably the lamest of the generation of super hero sets IMO.

  6. you could probably charge brickpoints (say 1000?) for someone to change his UN and include the history of UN used by that person under his profile pic or something

  7. Pardon my feelings on the matter, but calling out the owner of a free site which insane amounts of time outside of a normal job are spent on the site in which no money is earned from (they do it for fun) seems to be way more rude to me. It really makes me wonder how people can be so blatantly disrespectful to the people that make things like this possible. Hell - as one of the most vocal members on the site, I get more messages than I can respond to. I miss them every once in a while. It doesn't mean I don't care and certainly doesn't mean I don't want people asking me questions. More I just forget because I am a NORMAL HUMAN BEING with a job and life just like Jeff (less so because he probably has children, etc.). So lets just think before we post asinine comments please? AGkeene - I am sure your feelings on Lego sets will be much more appreciated

  8. Or maybe there are so many other things going on with running an excellent site such as this that there is sometimes simply no time to acknowledge all these requests. This is a general response and seems to meet your criteria, does it not?

  13. Pretty much any Amazon link on the Daily Deals, Set/Price Guide, Amazon Top Sellers/Discounts page, homepage or whatever when clicked on will help give us some affiliate commissions. Even if you click on a LEGO set, then buy a non-LEGO item, we can get credit. I believe the time frame is 24 hours, then it resets. Thanks asking.

  14. I've been reading a handful of comments elsewhere on the net discussing the possibility for this UCS Tumbler and let's just say they seem rather 'negative'. Honestly, I don't get what there is to be so upset over. Sure, I would like to see other important DC characters actually get some time in the spotlight but Batman does take it away easily especially with kids much like all those Police sets City keeps coming out with. This upcoming model may not be based on the 'traditional' Batmobile but then again the older UCS Batmobile wasn't either and come on, the Tumbler is a pretty badass vehicle and having a large scale detailed build of it sitting on a shelf in my room would be super awesome. Besides, Lego only released a set last year with the Tumbler driven by Bane so it isn't far out of our minds and I personally am itching to see a way better version than that 'junior' one. Anyway, I do not see any reason for this to not happen or why it should not. The people elsewhere who are saying this UCS Tumbler "should not happen" remind me of the same persons who were actually willing to boycott Lego completely simply because of The Simpsons. You know what? I have a much easier and simple solution for these people. When the product is released, speak with your wallet and just don't buy it. -End of line-

  17. I remember seeing that as a Cuusoo project. It got 10,000 supporters, but got rejected in the review stage, most likely due to another Sandcrawler coming out soon.

  19. I generally tend to give the best advice I possibly can. I wish I could buy every deal I come across and invest in every set/theme that catches my investment fancy, but in reality that is impossible given my limited capital (and if I had enough capital to buy everything I wanted I would probably have enough cash that I wouldn't bother with Lego investing and just be a Lego builder with my kids) and I'd rather have investors grabbing deals. I also tend to think the BP community has less of an impact on the total Lego market than we'd like to believe, so not much harm in trying to help others. Last, I still make mistakes, but fewer than when I started thanks to helpful posts, blogs and advice. I don't mind paying it forward, so to speak, in trying to offer some advice of my own.

  22. T1 Camper plus MM promo Sopwith Camel plus MM promo 5 x Princess Leia keychain for .98 each. Already trying to flip MM, and it's the first of each of these sets. My experience tells me that if you can sell MM this weekend you'll do well. Otherwise best to try and hold off a while. The keychains were on sale at lego store, Anakin pod racer keychain was the same price. Just couldn't by that terrible actor for any price though :)

  23. I can't help but find it funny that we get all emotionally attached and outspoken about a sand transport vehicle driven by nomadic aliens who use it to haul junk and scrap around to flea markets on a desert planet.

  24. Where you draw the line on waiting for VIP point versus taking advantage of a good mini fig is going to be different based on which type of "discount" people prefer. IMO MM for an order less than $150 and wait for double VIP for an order greater than that.

  25. If that's real, I'm SO glad I didn't sell my old one.

  27. The Marvel comic run is a great read and still holds up really well today. IDW is reprinting them in really nice hardbound editions with the first three volumes already out. I also found the first movie to pretty bad for all the reasons you mention. The 2nd one was much better and more faithful, but not perfect. Maybe the third one . . . I don't know if you've seen ***.I. Joe: Resolute (animated) but it's an outstanding stand-alone update to both the original comics/'toon.

  28. Make sure you factor in the time for selling those MM figures as well as the postage costs to get it posted as well as competition against other sellers when the market gets flooded with fakes and other MM minifigures. VIP x2 is just that.. no effort straight discounts

  29. If the title isn't clear here it is; basically I hope to pull an all-nighter (or as long as is necessary) to be one of the first to place an order to take advantage of the Martian Manhunter Minifigure promotion. For those of you who need the details, here they are; LEGO - March 2014 Calendar. I will try and be active on my laptop in the hours leading up to it on multiple places. 1. Here. If you just want to hit me up here and talk here on Brickpicker, or PM me here then that's cool. But I will more likely be checking out my social networks, and not Brickpicker. 2. My Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/PieceOutStudios. Shoot me a message, and like if you would, please! It helps a lot! 3. My Google+ page: https://plus.google.com/u/0/117710890696223027828. You can add me or whatevs and we can do a Google+ hangout. It'll give me something to do. I won't be checking this very often either. 4. My Twitter account: @PieceOutStudios. Tweet me! I will be checking this one out the most, so if you want a more instantaneous reply, come on over. I only have two followers, so if you would follow me too, that would be awesome! Because everything is awesome! I will talk with you about LEGO, LEGO Investing, Star Wars (not just the theme, but everything), DC Comics, or almost anything LEGO related in some way, shape, or form.

  30. Last year's Castle sets were alright but the overall designs feel like 'filler content' compared to previous entries in the line, and with all The Hobbit/Lord of the Rings stuff out, you can get a definite sense as to where all the attention to detail was being directed. The heroes of the Castle 2013 sets had the same nice printing as before; however, the villians seemed a tad on the simple side although still nice like the Dragon Wizard or Dragon Knight with armor. My grief is how all the sets seem very good guy centered with Dragon Mountain being the only design focused as the baddies base of operations and an odd one at that compared to the big castle for the heroes. Also, why the heck are there so many catapults lying around? They could have added a trebuchet instead at least once just for good measure. :P

  37. I'm Bricklinking it yes. I'm from the UK and managed to source around 90% of the bricks upto now from two sellers, one in Germany and one in the UK. I will most probably start a new thread with pics and details hopefully in a few weeks.

  38. I agree about the quality when detailed written steps and processes are available for factory workers to follow. Look at Apple and all the electronics we buy. What this really means is less jobs for currently and future non-China based Lego workers. It also could mean more classified leaks and knock-offs. Lego needs to stay cost competitive. Unfort, it comes with what we (and many others) would consider downsides. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app

  39. I don't really think manufacturing in China is the great threat some of you make it out to be. The magic in Lego, the je ne c'est qoui, is not only in quality of brick, but also in the licensing, the packaging, the composition and thought that goes into making these sets. The builders putting these sets together are head and shoulders above and beyond their competition. You can't fake creativity, and/or imagination. As long as Lego continues to have the foresight to buy the right licenses and find the right people to put these wonderful creations together their competition can only copy. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Pile of Coach handbags and leather goods knocked off every year in China, yet Coach continues to post good numbers and continued growth. Lego is no different.
