  1. All entries have been posted in full under post #2 Here are some stats from across all 84 entries: 120 different sets were chosen Sets ranged across 26 different themes Most expensive set chosen was $433.35, the 10188 Death Star Least expensive was $5.60, the 30106 Ice Cream Stand 65 of the sets were chosen by only one player alone $84,000 was the total amount to play with across all players There was $1,833.44 cash remaining, including $1,000 from one player alone who wanted to take the cash only. Some more analysis provided these graphs: The Virtual mimicks the real, with Fire Brigade the most picked set. Three players going big on Desert Skiff push it to the top of the quantity list, and one player chose all 119 of the Desk set. Though a better measure than quantity of investment popularity is value invested, here's that: And here's the value by theme: Interesting stuff I'm sure you'll agree. Anything else that anyone wants to know?

  9. Good lord yes. Seriously though - if you are into drugs, please get help. Pain killers, alcohol, methamphetamines, etc. just get help. Doesn't matter who you are there is always someone to help. Always someone who will stick by you through all the ups and downs. Obviously we don't know all the details here. It just isn't worth it to use something like that as a crutch. It never ends well. Don't become an obituary before you are supposed to be. Get help and get clean.

  12. I will continue to be a life-long scholar for Amazon Student Prime Heck, maybe I'll go for my PHD. In the meantime, I'm still a 'student' despite the Masters degree hanging on my wall. Sent from an iPhone using the Brickpicker app

  14. Jeff had plans to finish up the Classifieds before the new year but our father had some health issues and we spent a lot of time in hospital rooms. There are multiple new features being worked currently, including the Classifieds. We were discussing pricing structure today at work.

  18. Bought a Medieval Marketplace from CL. Seller was a fellow investor and AFOL with kids like me. Box was sealed and looked great. But this is for a build. After my eBay debacle earlier this week, glad to have this for only $10 more.

  19. I like to take the Government approach. I like to buy high and sell low. Then raise taxes.

  20. This is the only Hobbit set i have actually opened and built for my collection (Wave 3 might change that with the Smaug set). It looks great on display, and the detail inside is amazing. I don't see too much appeal in the other sets personally, but this is probably because i have more attachment to the LOTR trilogy growing up with them and all. Obviously some of the other sets will still do ok since people will need all the dwarves and whatnot. As Beartrapper said this set can be themed/played to be from either of the films which helps it's value even more depending on who enjoys which series more. Gandalf Arrives fits with the set perfectly as well I have no doubt this will be a winner, not experienced enough to predict it's % increase, but definitely one to invest in IMO!

  23. Ditto! Very well-said... Build first, buy/sell second for me as well... Make a few bucks along the way is a bonus. Using one's "Spidey-sense" (along with info gleaned from BP, etc...) on which sets to focus in on is a lot more fun than picking stocks... Earning anything above 15-20% exceeds those investments... Getting involved with Lego building/buying/selling the last few months has been fulfilling on so many levels (organizing, analyzing, interpreting, prepping, etc...) Thanks to all those involved and contribute to BP (and of course, the founders!)... Going back to my day job...

  24. A lot o comments on here seem almost angry at the thought that you might not be able to resell Lego sets in the future for ridiculous gains. Legos are and always have meant to be toys first and foremost, you play with them, kids, adults, whatever it doesn't matter if you're worried about stockpiling hundreds of sets that you won't be able to resell for a profit open them up and make yourself a bed to lie on because you got yourself into the situation with dreams of golden bricks falling from the sky Live by my motto and you'll never be burned. Never buy a set you wouldn't want to build or play with, it doesn't matter if you're 16 or 66, you can still have fun making something out of legos

  25. Definately still preliminary with these images. I mean, they are using Squidward's head in place of the musicians on the box! Haha.

  26. You'd think that by now having built large Technic sets (Supercar, Motorized Excavator, etc...) one would be careful with the Mobile Crane MK II (at 2606 pieces)! Nope... One detour of using a dark gray piece instead of a black one resulted in working backwards haphazardly taking parts off. What a nightmare... Another detour I ran into? A piece was missing. Ordered that today through Brick Owl. Jumped to another section instead of stopping... And now I have to wait for the part. Oh well... Technic sets are amazing... even with the frustrations...

  29. +1. As an eBayer who uses the site as a business platform, it is your job to leave feedback. It literally takes 10 seconds per transaction. Frankly, if a seller didn't leave feedback after I purchased from him/her, I would never deal with them again.

  30. Doesn't sound like that big of deal. It should be considered as an element of your job, especially since an auction site is the medium of choice you chose to do business in.
