A museum would be pretty cool, the Cuusoo museum project looks great.

you're right. a museum could even be big enough to stand alone... love to see the classic t-rex skeleton on Display in main lobby.

A laundromat, steakhouse, beauty salon, or attorney's office? Who knows? How about a dojo or gym?

the laundry mat and beauty salon are natural fit and would look great. every day common buildings. good ideas.

Did you end up getting any of the old three yet?

We haven't - the money for the old three is going to come from the sale of some of Mr. Frog's unwanted older sets (giant Star Destroyer, etc. etc.) and we have been in a three month business planning, investment-revamping, money laundering (no no, not money laundering, forget I said that  :shifty:  ) money RE-ARRANGING absolutely crazy mode as we have finally finished the business plan that will move us completely out of books and completely into LEGO. Over time. Which cannot be too soon, because I'm bone-weary of lugging books around and much prefer the LEGO.

And as of this month, we've implemented The Plan and it's going splendidly but not leaving us much time for fun builds.

And my oldest daughter just sprung a boyfriend on us. Yes, the first one. So Mr. Frog is using almost every spare moment that he's not sorting LEGO for Bricklink for cleaning his guns and clearing his throat meaningfully.

But those three modulars are definitely still on The List!  :thumbsup:

If the TLG will continue in its strategy and produce a government building, then the best chances have:

1) police station - police and fire rescue themes are very popular in TLG, and since we have already had a fire brigade, the police station would be a logical step;

2) museum - lot of stuff could be in interier.

3) hospital

4) school

Any of these buildings would be a perfect addendum to the modular street. The good point is that every year is a new modular building coming, so we can expect that there will be many interesting themes in the future, maybe all above themes will be created.

Heh - I will never have children and certainly not a daughter for that reason. It was nice knowing you.

Let me know when you all get ready to get rid of that Star Destroyer (Im assuming its the old style). I have come across the old three modulars a couple times. If I do again, we can work out a trade.

We built the Cafe Corner. It was really nice, but weird as the only modular I had so I sold it.

Super, will do. Yes, it's the older one with the old color grays, in fantastic shape. I'll PM you when we come up for air and have all the parts counted. ;-)

My local LEGO shop considers the haunted house an unofficial modular, so if one thinks about the themes how about:

* Springfield Elementary school?

* Quickie mart?

Or maybe a bargain priced ($50) modular like

* a park (maybe with a fountain or a skate park or just trees and picnic tables or a gazebo)

* a cemetery

* an alley or some kind of parking area (dumpsters, maybe a car) -- or an Octan gas station?

More conventional ideas:

* Either a big home, or a pair of row houses, perhaps one with a LEGO room like the one from the movie with a micro modular build in it?

* Something Anything with a basement

* I'm also liking ideas others have posted, barber shop, library, post office, LEGO store, police station

sorry if this was discussed before... any ideas, speculation or wants for the next modular building? Lego did a great job on the Parisian Restaurant (PR) released last year.

Your new thread was getting so much attention I decided to wait until the end of the day before merging it with the older one. It's already on the list, but I had also thought about a tattoo parlor.  Parts of Dwalin from Unexpected Gathering 79003 and the Motorcycle Mechanic from CMF Series 10 are already earmarked for my tattoo artists.

Another I had considered was a massage parlour.  It'll have a garishly colored sex dungeon upstairs (yeah, I know, dungeons aren't upstairs).  I was going to chain a minifig to the gate from the Rancor Pit and have a modified Catwoman whipping him.

Lastly, I've been thinking about how to reproduce the run-down historic buildings that are in the old downtown area of almost every big city.  I was gonna Bricklink a request for a bunch of dirty, discolored, or broken white pieces.  I figured a minifig with a beanie and a bottle would be hanging around the front door.

Ooh ooh, I just had another awesome idea:  Modular Abandoned Lot!  It'll fit right between two other buildings.  There could be a dumpster, a few rocks, some scattered trash, and a bunch of weeds.  Maybe even a baseball bat or a syringe.  As a crowning touch, there's a pair of shoes hanging from a power line.

I'm sending that idea to Lego, they won't be able to not hire me.

sorry for 3 of the last for posts, but...

young_gun- what about a lego investor's house? you could have shelves full of boxed sets, and an angry-looking wife. :)

The house might be too violent of a scene if he just brought home a SSD and DS:)

-I don't always going shopping, but when I do I buy Lego-

If this would be made, then there would have to be a LEGO lawyer knocking at the front door.  :whistle:

How about minifig scale fast food chain restaurants.  McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, Taco Bell...

That means a licence and we can only imagine how well a licensed modular will do after EOL.
