I ,as many of you, were hoping that the VIP discount page wasn't just a glitch.  It kinda showed that VIPs aren't really anything that special. They through a few pallets of votron into costcos for everyday joes and teased us so called VIPs. I'm sure LEGO would have liked to move a grip of those big fans and somewhat disappointing trains also! Just Another confusing Move by our "friends" at the top.  Also like many of you I got to save some capital for the next round of sales elsewhere.

I sat this round of sales out, I'm sure there will be a winner out of these, but I'm willing to wait for clearer skies. The average shopper is coming out, so the better deals will be trickier to find for a little while. Patience is key.

VIP 30% off plus promos on speed champs and 3 retiring exclusives wins over 36.1% off one set. As for average joes, Costco requires membership dues and automobile (ever see a Costco on a bus or train line?), ( correction downtown south San Fran had a Costco) VIP is for anyone with internet and mailing address, seems VIP is more accessible.

Good point about Costco VS. VIP.    Love me some speed champs too.:) No expectations on my end, just observing. Reason for posting was I do believe they as a company could have moved some more slow sellers. I was In my dark ages when Black card fiasco happened but I've read a lot of back posts about it. Lot of hype for not much.

For Cloud City It says in stock at Target, but when you click the ship it button it says "item not added to cart. It's now out of stock." It has been like that all morning.

I was able to snag 1.  Apparently a few at a time keep getting added back into inventory.

Costco has delivery service nowadays. And a website. I don’t see LEGO.com as being more accessible. They’re both equally accessible.

Except Costco online is a separate entity as the warehouses.  Can't ship to a warehouse and the items available are 99% of the time different.

For those griping that the $120 threshold for a ~400 piece Christmas tree was too high, just wait til you get a load of what $80 more got you.

The buildable red brick is 72 pieces and in a crap box.  Super disappointing.

Not only that, but it's already well under $30 on eBay.

The red brick set was an unexpected bonus, so I'm not complaining. The real aim of the VIP weekend was early access to the Tree GWP + Double VIP points + 30% off a few items.

Even if I only get $10-$15 for the red brick, it's still something to bring down the overall order cost. Hell, maybe I'll even keep one to build.

Always a nice bonus to get free stuff, but the fact that it's such a meh..... set for such a high dollar threshold is whats weird.
