What's the word today?

Expand

I only hit 1 store this morning, but there was nothing new. There's less on the shelves than I've seen before, if that's any hint it's winding down. Again, only 1 store though.

Storage is so maxed out already at my home, even the dozens of Dimensions I've found have no place to go. It makes me wonder what the storage space looks like for those of you that have scored in the thousands. Need some pics in the Collection/Stockroom Pics thread of you guys swimming in your Scrooge vault of fun packs.

I called one of the stores right now and the manager said they didn't get in anything new.  He also said they still have a limit of 9.  I called another store and spoke to the manager, who by the way is not at all helpful and seems bothered every time I call, and she said to call later today to see if they have anything.  I asked her if there is still a limit and she said no.  I guess YMMV.

I imagine you're one of a thousand calls. I expect their greeting to change, "... for English press 1, for Dimensions please hang up."

Some stores I have visited do seem to have a limit, but it's imposed by the manager and not so much corporate policy. Probably got complaints from some customers or just thinks the stuff actually belongs to him. Most stores though have dropped the limit.

I also love when you call and the person you are speaking with has no idea what you are talking about.  Then they transfer you to someone else and put you on hold.  Then you get hung up on.  Come on people, it's not that hard...........

So here's another theory I heard today from some random dude looking through the packs on the rack.  Take it for what it's worth, probably nothing though lol

"The owner of Frank and Son was offered all the packs through a vendor.  Frank and Son did not have the capital to purchase all the packs so the vendor went directly to the 99 cent store."

Fake news?

Expand

I know the owners and it was not offered to them. If it had been, we would have made that purchase happen.

Having lived in Sacramento, that sounds about right, Then again, any 99c store probably has its share of "People of Walmart" types.

I went to one of 99 cents store. And all they had was Bart simpsons. I bought 14 of them and left about 30 of them. They don't have a limit at that store.

There's a good possibility, if we find ourselves stuck with a billion Barts down the line, we're gonna wish they had that limit.
Maybe it was in place for our sake..."Customers, we're selling these for 99c and they're not moving....*hint* *hint*" :P
