I can't wait to see the designer video.  I think it will be done by 2 people: The designer who is awkwardly trying to muster up every ounce of enthusiasm about his improvements.  And the overly enthusiastic graphic designer who points out every single minute new print on the minifigs and the new accessories.

If the designer video is anything other than this, I'm going to be disappointed.  I think you nailed it exactly how it's going to go.

This is hysterical to me. My takeaway, in case you didn't know, there's a new one coming out and if you look into it, you can save yourself some grief by waiting.

Instead of reposting a meme mere hours later, I politely refer you to my previous post today..

Where did they admit to the Toy Shop mistake? Surprising they would do so then turn around and rerelease the Death Star.

I was looking through the reviews for 10249 and saw a LEGO rep actually responded to one of the many negative comments regarding the reissue of the Toy Shop.  The reviewer, like many, was disappointed at LEGO for not being creative enough to release a new set for their Christmas village.  Here is the response:

It is obvious from your review and those that came before you that the Winter Village collection has a very passionate fan base. It was definitely not the intention of the designers to disappoint our loyal builders who have been with us since the beginning.

After many tough conversations it was decided that we wanted to give all of our builders an opportunity to purchase the amazing Winter Toy Shop. While some builders were lucky enough the get this set in 2009 we have found that most families did not realize that this would become an annual tradition and missed this amazing set. With our designers having so many creative ideas for new and amazing Winter Village sets it was difficult to hold the reigns and re-release this set but it is in the interest of many of our younger builders and their families to make this happen.

To our loyal Winter Village builders, like yourself, we hear you and understand how frustrating this experience has been. It is through situations like this that we learn more about our builders and their expectations.

Can't wait for the response to the reviews of 75159.

Exactly, it was more a case of "we hear and understand how you feel". Nothing was ever stated saying that it wouldn't ever happen again (or that they wouldn't have done it, had they known).

Unless it is a bad decision which costs them $, or has an impact on their reputation - they can certainly justify doing it.

I had my contact at Lepin hacked into LEGO's server and check their planned response to 75159...

It is obvious from your review and those that came before you that the Star Wars UCS collection has a very passionate fan base. It was definitely not the intention of the designers to disappoint our loyal builders who have been with us since the beginning.

After many tough conversations it was decided that we wanted to give all of our builders an opportunity to purchase the amazing Death Star. While some builders were lucky enough the get this set in 2015 we have found that a couple families did not realize that this would no longer be available after eight years and missed this amazing set. With our designers having so many creative ideas for new and amazing Star Wars UCS sets it was difficult to hold the reigns and re-release this set but it is in the interest of at least one of our younger builders and their families to make this happen.

Are you really still here? Why don't you write what I really said? I said it could be $1500 set or. $600 set, it all depends on the remake. You are such an ass.

Oh, so now we are resorting to name calling?

Wow, okay...Here you go...

From the speculative bubble thread where ALMOST everyone disagreed with almost every point I made that forms the basis of this thread (interesting how that works; hmm...maybe I fit your definition of an ass after all?)

From the mouth of Ed Mack: "My original point about the Death Star was that it is either a $600 set or a $1400-$1600 one. If the new Death Star is different enough to compliment the older one, the 10188 could explode in growth. It is an all time set. Period. (my analysis: no, it is a just a set that came out at the right time. It is nothing that can’t be made again as I have said multiple times right here on these forums).

As for Ironbrick, I appreciate his well written replies, but I think we all get the point already. I think most of us realize the market is not as strong as it was 2 years ago, but I can tell you from actual data, the market is very similar to 5!years ago. We have seen a correction. Now, it just depends on if we continue to correct.” (As stated before, I agree and disagree. I think you fully know the market has changed, but admitting how much is the issue. Just my opinion).

Now does that match this?   On August 22, 2016 at 2:54 PM,  Ed Mack said:

I've never pretended to know what future of the 10188 or 75159 would be.

Now as for being an ass...hmm...

Seriously Ed, I have nothing against you or anyone else on this forum. However, you really get way too emotional when discussing these little plastic bricks. So much so that you have resorted to name calling as a defense mechanism. Truthfully I don’t care one way or another and I am not even mad, but please reflect on this at some point. I have no vested interest in how you present yourself or this site, but you simply can’t claim that you are not making predictions when half your site is devoted to just that.

Again, I think you have a great site. I also think you can be a great person when you want to be. I do however think you sometimes allow your passion for Lego to supercede the logical financial aspect...and that can be a very bad thing when speculators hang on your every word as gospel. And please don’t tell me that this is not your intent. It comes with the territory when you control a site devoted to it. Aside from that I think this is a great site (to answer your question as to why I am still here).  And I thank you for allowing me to be here. Enough said for now...

Please knock it off or @Jeff Mack and @Ed Mackwill intervene.  The mods are past being tried of your going back and forth.  It doesn't matter who started it.

Just ignore each other.    The recent banter has been hidden.

You do realize that IB has been going after Ed and Ed is the one that called IB an ass?  I'm just commenting on the sheer idiocy of IB's attempt at taking down Ed.

I missed everything - I step away for a bit, and all that's left to see when I return are a bunch of popcorn references.
