Just want to share a little of my experience.

Got an email last night saying Lego Store at Fairview Pointe Claire will have 60004 Fire Station, 75054 AT-AT and 40158 Private Chess on sale for 50% off.

Hit the store this morning, arrived at 9:20. Because of rain there are some traffic the usually 25 minutes drive took me about 45 minutes. Not many people there and only 40158 is gone because this one is really 50% off set, 60004 and 75054 are still 40% off.

Didn't take those cause my children have already got a 60004 and I have plenty of 75054 thanks to great mighty Walmart, but found they still have 79018 the lonely mountain for 40% off, should be a great deal so I grab 2.

When doing check out the gentleman at counter told me 2 is the most one household can grab, and for these 2 the total price (after tax) is144.85 CAD(?!)

They are OK for this so I said nothing, put these 2 79018 with GH and calendar onto my car and back to the store for a second visit.

75054 AT-AT at 40% off gone like hotcake, the stock depleted at around 9:50.

They might have 8~10 79018. The good manager saw me "haunting around" then came up and told me if I like I can grad an extra one.

They also have the promotion that buy a 70751 Temple of Airjitzu get a 70735 Ronin R.E.X for free, so also took these 2.

When doing the second check out at around 10:30 the guy told me there was a glitch in Lego's system, so for the first 2 79018 the price I paid was 40% off on the already discounted price( 30% off), that is  only 42% of the original price! But they have had it fixed, what a pity !

Also they refuse to give me GH and calendar for my second order, cause I have already taken them.:O

Some of my observations:

1. They got the full line of JW sets on shelf, including RE and IR, just don't know how long it could last

2. Some Ninjago sets are also on sale for 20% to 30% off

3. They even have 10241 Triple E on sale for 20% off.

4. They got plenty of 60004 in stock, maybe 30+

Just wondering if there was the same glitch for AT-AT. Maybe should have grad at least 1.

Called to make sure about 40% .. and like I said this morning .. all 40-50% were good until noon . after,  everything was back to 30 -20% .. Fire Station is now at 20% ..

good news didn't buy anything today didn't go anywhere !

Bad news : I need my fix !

Was just at Yorkdale looking for a T-Rex. All they had from Jurassic World was about 8 REs. My back up plan was to finally get a Pet Shop. I saw it, then saw they still had a huge number of their black Friday sale stock on hand. THere were 10-20 of each of Darkseid Invasion, Benny's Spaceship, a large Chima set, the Dale set from the Hobbit, some Elves sets, the Turtles sewer escape, the Green Goblin set, and others, all at 40% off. So I grabbed a Darkseid Invasion for myself and a Benny's Spaceship to sell. I bought 3 of the latter  at half price on Boxing Day last year and easily sold them at retail within a month so figured I might as well get the other 60% off of Darkseid Invasion from selling this set.

On other shelves there were still 4 Pet Shops, plus 1 Death Star and 1 Parisian Restaurant, as well as the Doctor Who sets (limit of 2). Asked about Gingerbread sets and no dice. I got a 2016 lego calendar as a free bonus.

What are you thoughts about the DS retiring, investment .. return on investment ? Should I really bite the bullet ?

I have only been in this game for a year... however listening to the wisdom of the elders/more expeirence like Ed/Jeff Mack and Emazer, this seems to be a pretty safe investment. At the very least, we will have no problem getting our cost back if we are strap for cash for future purchases.

If it comes to major sets possibily retiring like  Red5, Tumbler, SeaCow and DS. I will at least want to have one or two DS... just in case it turns into something near SSD.

I've been in this game since a few years but never ever wanted to invest in any set at regular price especially at this cost 575$ since we pay 15% tx here .. I just don't feel it .. but there a little voice telling me I'm gonna a regret it once again ! lollllll

And that is why you might as well grab 1 or 2 now. I am sure recouping cost back will not be an issue... or even trade it on kijiji for something else later on. Humans tend to have a desire for things that we can no longer get ;)

Got another DS tonight at the Lego store. They had 4 mint boxes of Red5 on the shelf. Check your Lego stores if you still need it.

Never buy something that you aren't sold on, so buy 2 Tumblers instead.

Where is your free calender?

Got that with my other transactions (RE and the Hulk). I paid for those items first to earn 2x VIP then redeem all on the DS. I get worry of then ban hammer when I rack up $150+ worth of VIP points

So the last DS finally went in Edmonoton.....Was just there yesterday morning and pondered picking it up but decided on 2 Tumblrs instead.

I didn't ask how many they got as it is still available on LEGO Shop at Home, I assume they will keep getting more until LEGO Shop at Home is sold out.

Good choice on Tumbler. I gotta get a few more of those before it's gone. Hope you have enough Red5 as there were still a few more on the shelf last night.

Just went to pick up a simpson's house.  I have my fair share of Red5's.  They still have 2 sitting on the shelves.
