Seasonal

Discussion for collecting and investing with Seasonal themed sets.

  1. Started by Rootfish,

I know that the Lego Star Wars and Lego Friends advent calendars will be big, but what of the the city one? Saw a couple and wonder if they are a good investment.

  2. Started by jaisonline,

We are starting to hear about the upcoming annual Halloween set. It sure looks better than last year's Vampire setswhich can still be found in some Lego stores at 50% off. LegoLeroy from eurobricks posted a pic of a recent Halloween set which was taken from the backs of the Seasonal 2017 Easter Egg Hunt's (40237) instruction. Set name and # will be announced soon. Allen from thebrickfan wrote up a nice little summary, "From the looks of it, the set shows off a large gate and in the background, there’s presumably a haunted house with an orange sky backdrop. There’s also a cauldron with some food stuff in it. The minifigures include a man and a skeleton"

Does anyone have the exact weight of this set? I just bought a sealed box but it feels pretty light compare to other Winter sets. Thanks in advance.

First look at what is probably a holiday set that will be sold but possibly a GWP.

So checking the Seasonal sets on LEGO Shop at Home Spain I bumped into two new sets: 40058 - Decorating the tree 40059 - Santa's sleigh Had you seen these before? Did anyone else see them coming? I will place a second order today to get a second 40082 and these two

    sorry if already posted.

  12. Started by blue leader,

I have a few WVM I was going to hold onto until Christmas season 2015 (retired at that point). Seeing how Santa'sW is almost constantly TOOS, would you unload the WVM this year and start loading up on Santa'sW for Christmas season 2016? (assuming historical retirement schedule of course) Santa's Workshop seems like it will be a massive score EOL. Thoughts?

I went to the Lego store in Bellevue Square (Bellevue, WA) today and they had just set out the new advent calendars. It was $29.99. I bought one, and also got the free Lego Friends add-on promotion. Mez

Hey BPs, just found this site, so helpful. I've been flipping a low volume of WV sets for a few years, but thought I'd get some input on the promo set 40106. Would it be wise to hold on to this set and sell as a bundle with Santa's Workshop after EOL? Sell by itself? It seems the most connected (of the promo sets) to a main WV set. Is anyone else excited about the ROI possibility on Santa's Workshop? I think this will be huge.

  18. Started by TheOrcKing,

A news post on The Brick Fan shows and confirms this unique set based around the Chinese Zodiac, or more specifically "The Year of the Snake" which 2013 will be. There is the question of whether it will be exclusive to China or not. Regardless, I think this is a pretty nice niche set. LEGO Creator "Year of the Snake" (10250) - The Brick Fan Download building instructions here. Deleted the other two lower quality images and replaced them with this much better one from motayan's flickr gallery. In the bottom right corner, you can clearly see the three designs from the "Prehistoric Hunters" set will be included in this one for a total of four. The "Special Edition 2013" i…

I bought 5 or 6 of the Holiday Bauble 853345 (gold bricks) on clearance a few months back... can't recall what I paid... $2 or $3 each? Have had them on Amazon FBM ever since at the lowest price ($11.90 shipped) and have not sold a single one (despite this being the cheapest Lego ornament I found in a quick search). I was just thinking about opening them up and parting out the bricks. Interesting... the tag says "43 pcs"... I now learned that means 40 bricks + 2 ornament halves + 1 gold ribbon. Doing a little more research, I see that a few are selling on eBay around $10 each... maybe I'll just do that. One other idea... part out the bricks, and sell the empty bauble…
