Orion Pax LEGO Ideas project by LegoJalex

Will be building my city over the next couple of months. Is there anything that I should plan ahead, so i don't have to tear down and start over again. The layout of the city will be like an L shape. Its not going to be that big probably 8ft by 4 ft ( 8 being the longest part of L and 4 the shortest)

Thought I'd play "guess what I'm building" with you fine folks. This set was mostly in an overflowing BTTF box which was inside a big plastic bin. Can you guess which set this is? (See pic) Good luck!

Just finished this up, figured I'd post it up. The goal was to leave the Haunted House set untouched but to build around it. I also wanted to be able to open the house. All in all I'm happy with how it turned out. Thoughts and comments appreciated.

Has anyone ever done this? I think it would be uber fun, (albeit wastefull) to build an old set like Jango Fett"s Slave 1 mint out of the box today. It would be so wierd to be getting those classic gray/grey pieces out of an unopened bag!

A while back I purchased some lego from one of the owners of Brick Bricks, a terminator salvation MOC, a few other bits and this along with a bulk lot of loose. After asking him I found out it was the beginning to a basement for the HH. Its been sat in the cupboard since, until a few day back when I fitted the HH to it a started covering the floors and adding details. Now don't get me wrong the majority of the work was not done by me, he is an amazing builder and has added secret passage ways sliding doors, prison cells, and there is a battery pack installed ready for a lighting kit. I thought it might be helpful to get a thread going for indecisive people like me. I would be open to others listing their "dilemmas" as well in order to avoid multiple threads. I ordered the Grand Emporium, but as I somewhat expected the order was cancelled due to it being over sold. I had decided that I was going to spend about $150 on a set to build this month, but I am having trouble deciding what to go with. Hi, I have recently started using the Lego Digital Designer to build a waterway for a pirate ship set I have. I am finding that some of the pieces that are in the Lego Designer program are hard to locate. I am using some blue transparent plates to help make the water, and I have having a hard time finding anything like it on Pick-A-Brick through Lego. I also know of Bricklink.com, but through a few searches I haven't found any there either. Any suggestions for finding these bricks after I get my design finished? Thanks.

So I am looking for a set to buy to build for fun, not as an investment, although I may sell it later as used. I would like for it to be $400 or under and NISB. It can be a current or retired set just looking for a fun build. I am not into the play factor or minifigs so the DS is out and I have all of the Arch sets already. Not interested in TB or any Modulars. My current choice is 10221 SSD just want to make sure I am not missing a neat retired or other current set. Your Suggestions:
