Many on this site are either aware of MOCpages, view it, or have a page of their own. For ya'all, you know exactly what I am talking about Whole story at http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/426394

Another builders question from me. I'm curious to hear what more experienced builders and MOC'ers do when they wish to design a build. Do you start off with a sketch on paper and/or design it virtually with a CAD program? How about coming up with a list for parts; do you create a little checklist and go down the line? Do you research to see what currently available sets contain most of the parts needed, just buy what you need through Bricklink, or maybe visit the Pick-a-Brick wall at a nearby Lego Store? Whatever it may be, I'd like to hear about your methodical processes.

I have a plastic tub of lego from my childhood that I have in the basement. I have moved a couple times since I last used them, probably when I was about 12. they have been in the same container and although I would never get rid of them, I always figured they would be for my kids, if I ever had them. I never gave them a second thought and completely ignored the toy aisles at stores before I had kids of my own. I was thinking to myself the other day, since I have probably enough lego now to fill a U-Haul- what was my first new set when my interest was rekindled? its taken me a few days but I have finally tracked it back to the blacksmith attack on sale at target for…

I searched and didn't see this one but if it already exists mods please merge. So I was breaking down my Tumbler, selling it as used, and I was just amazed at the level of complexity to this build. It gave me a new appreciation for some of the different techniques that are used when I was taking it apart So what were some of your most challenging builds and why? This may help others select their next set or help them avoid one. My top 3 easiest to hardest: 3. United Nations, after 40 years of not playing with Lego I saw this set at BN and those translucent blue tiles were just calling my name, little did I know what I was getting into. As a kid I just did f…

As a kid I had a ton of Lego, but I've spent the last few years moving between many countries. I've finally settled down and I asked my parents to send my Lego bricks from the other side of the world to here, but I've missed out on many interesting releases. My favorite themes are Castle and Pirates, and I've always enjoyed doing Castle-themed MOCs as a kid. I was wondering, what could be an effective way to collect bricks that would be useful for Castle-themed MOCs? With the 2013 sets out of production their price is not very wallet friendly around here, and the older 2010 Kingdoms are even worse from that point of view. I could always hit Bricklink or some local store …

How do you all buy your sets to build and why? I generally gravitate towards used sets put together that are complete. Cheapest way to get them and I have no problem disassembling them and putting them back together? How about it? Make sure you say why!

I like to build at the kitchen table, but I always seem to bump/drop parts I like to build on the floor, but my back gets sore ? Anybody found a good table/surface to build on? Most of the stuff I see seems designed for kids. Thanks?

You are a lego investor. And suddenly you have only 24 hours to live. Which lego set in your warehouse will you open to build for one last time?

Hey folks! I have a big box of white/pink/red bricks and another big box of white/red/pink plates. I reckon I have enough here to take on building any of the released modular sets so far. Given that I can download the instructions from somewhere, which do you think will: 1) Look decent in those colours? 2) Be buildable mostly with standard bricks? I had green grocer in mind initally, but it will be a sweet/candy shop instead. I do have a lot of other brick parts, so reckon I will have enough to do any of them, but maybe not in the right colours.

I am kind of interested. I know this is an investing site so there will be more people who bought one to resell than to build - but I want to see the skew. Who specifically bought one to build and did just that?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CUSTOM-LEGO-Twin-Towers-New-York-Skyscraper-GREAT-SIZE-32-5-INCH-HEIGHT-/131292954397?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276 I have been wanting to build something like this for years and years, but I just don't have the creativity to actually design one myself. I am not looking for something as huge as the one in the link, maybe just the size of one of the medium sized Architecture sets. Does anyone have any idea if there is someone selling instructions or a smaller MOC somewhere?

Hey All, Lego really is so diverse. From artistic to technical, right-brained to left-brained, there is something for all of us. Artsy..... yet numerical and mathematic at the same time. As a practicing neuropsychologist, this is of incredible interest to me. Here is a LDD rendition of what the brain might look like when building with Lego if scanned with a PET scanner. Youtube video is much more accurate.....in that it produces more of a video-like rendering of the brain than a static picture. More information at: http://mocpages.com/moc.php/427329

Let's say you wish to introduce someone to the grand world of Lego. What set would you pick as the best example to get this person going? Impressing him/her display wise can be one thing while deciding on something for them to build that keeps their interest piqued is another. Perhaps on that note this could be considered a two part question. What set makes the best display for showing off what Lego is to other people and potentially get them interested? What set would you pick out as an interesting design for someone else to build that could leave them wanting more?
