Wow. Great work by this fella. Too bad this larger vehicle wasn't released for the movie like the Sea Cow. https://www.flickr.com/photos/brickmasta/sets/72157644170959096/

Although still under some construction, Brick City Depot has given their website a fresh coat of paint updating the overall appearance and function of the store. Currently running (for an unknown timeframe) when you sign up for an account will give you access to a set of instructions for building a new Adventure Truck design for free! Moving along, Brick City Depot shall be attending the BrickFair Fan Festival in Virginia this coming August 2-3 where you will be able to check out some of the models from their future print of The LEGO Neighborhood Book. In the image below you can see a small silhouette of the next modular house design to be released. Judging from t…

I'm tossing out a question. Lately I have been rebuilding sets to sell and have been finding that seeing the difference of the old Light Gray and the new Light Blueish Gray is hard in the light I have. In sunlight the difference is very apparent. But I do most my building at night. I know that incandescent lights are not ideal but I have an LED light and sometimes the difference is very hard to discern. The Dark Gray pieces stand out easily. So what lights do you have in your Lego rooms? Any other tricks for sorting the old and new? Thanks

New house has a pretty substantial office space that is dedicated to my built displays, etc. But what I don't have currently is a table to actually build on... Anyone have any pictures of what they use or any cool ideas?

So this is new to me but perhaps others have tried it since it has been out since February. I picked up the new Technic 42022 Hot Rod today and on the box is a link to download the free app from iTunes. Just google "Lego Building Instructions app" for the link. I am using the ipad air version and IMO it is amazing. I think this is the only set available as of now but I would recommend trying it just to see what is coming our way No more need for PDF this is 3D rendering with 360 degree views and not sure of the term but you can see where the part you are working on will go in the outline of the finished model. It has a few neat features to try out as well. Now the…

Between my own sorting of parts and something said on New Elementary, I wonder how people feel about the number of colors available in Lego bricks if there is too many or just enough. I believe there is at least over 20 different shades currently in use but I am not precisely sure. On one side, it can seem too many since a person needs to have a good amount of any one color for building something decent with continuity in color scheme otherwise the thing will look bizarre. Not many sets include a ton of a single color at once. If anything their selection is usually rather diverse therefore you are almost forced to either purchase a bunch of the same set and/or many diffe…

Lego has updated their minisite for The Lego Movie with a section called Create & Combine. Basically, it is an area for builds Lego has come up with that only use pieces from two different sets to make something new meaning it is quite easy to do these yourself. So far there is a total of six different designs, one of which is just instructions and a parts list. Anyway, you can see what the two sets needed for the combination are after downloading the instructions or just check out the attached images here. Via The Brick Fan

So I guess you could consider me an AFOL now. Haven't built Legos in forever until I got the itch a week ago and bought the Parisian Restaurant. Now I might be addicted lol. I wanna build my own modular to connect to it now, but I'm curious on what the best way to gather an assortment of Legos it. I know the Lego Stores in malls have assorted pieces, but am wondering, is their selection small and basic or is it pretty good? Will I be able to get most of what I need from their assortment there or will I have to order parts from online? Thanks for any advise!

So I bought and built 79103 Turtle Lair Attack and noticed one of the pieces in the instructions is different from the piece included in the set. The piece in question is the black cage-like piece pictured below: The one in the instructions has only two pegs, but the one I have has four. Will this have any effect on the resale value or is this just an instruction misprint? Just curious if I should contact Walmart or Lego regarding it as it is very noticeably different and I don't want the next owner to think I'm trying to pull a fast one over on them or anything.

I downloaded LDD and I am trying to design my first MOC. I am just curious what scale you use. I would like the scale to match with mini figures and to seem realistic. What scale do you use? For example, how many studs = 1 foot long? How many rows of bricks = 1 foot high? Thanks in advance!

I am asking myself what the majority of AFOLs without kids do with a set when it is built? It's clear that there are sets meant to be played with, others rather meant to be displayed only and some qualify for both. What do you buy sets for? Which are the ones you play with (on your own), which do you only put up to display?

Just got my pirate ship ambush from walmart.com and when I opened it up there were no minifigures inside whatsoever. The box was minty and sealed, and all the bags were sealed but somehow this happened. Has this happened to anyone else and what did you do?

Many pooh-poohed the UCS B-wing. I rather liked the model, but admit some changes were needed. I attempted to make the changes I felt were necessary to become a true UCS model. Pictures are on my MOC pages. http://mocpages.com/moc.php/390298

Will be building my city over the next couple of months. Is there anything that I should plan ahead, so i don't have to tear down and start over again. The layout of the city will be like an L shape. Its not going to be that big probably 8ft by 4 ft ( 8 being the longest part of L and 4 the shortest)
