Hello Brickpicker! I recently picked up this sealed, near-mint copy of a limited edition Makuta Icarax for $2 at a garage sale. The question at hand is whether I hold on to this set like the rest of my investing pieces, or just quick-sell. Do you all think that this has reached its peak value already? It was released in 2008 and its current value is at about $150. In the next five years or so would this set be expected to rise even more in value do to its rarity? Thanks, Smurfy_Bacon

Seeing as this bad boy is now at 90 USD on Amazon.com and not even available in Europe, it deserves its own thread as the hero set of 2016. 6x RRP in 1 year sounds damn fine to me.

I've been going through some old boxes of Bionicle in my basement and have found a few curiosities. I have two models, The Rahkshi Kita Za (made from Rahkshi 8592+8589+8588) , and 'The Shadowed One' (made from Keetongu and Roodaka) both of which I don't think have ever been sold as a package. They are both models constructed from combining other sets. My main question is how do I measure the value for these sets? I'm trying to list them on ebay and have no idea where to start. Should i just combine the prices of the sets used to construct them and sell them for that?

These sets are now becoming very hard to find in the wild. Unfortunately, buyers are just as hard to find. Do you have a favourite warrior that you think will be the best performer or do you have no love for these pointy-headed beasts assembled from technic parts bin left-overs ? Please vote and comment to back up your opinion. I voted for Ekimu as he is the only goodie and seems to be the one that is now the hardest to find.

I need help identifying these Bionicles... I know nothing about the theme. We got them from a kid across the street a while back. Did not get instructions. I'm planning on selling them as a bulk lot on eBay, unless you think they would be much more valuable as separates...? I'd like to be able to correctly identify the four sets... (maybe pieces from a fifth?). We have a "can" for Vezok and Zaktan... I think the red one may be called "Toa Jaller"? ... have no idea what the other blue one is. Anything super valuable here? Am I tossing out the "Grand Carousel" of Bionicles? On those that are so equipped, the eyes still do light up (weakly). The gold sword lights up well. …

Groovebricks uploaded an image of what I assume is a placeholder for what a large store display of next year's return with Bionicle may look like. Some would say this return of the original theme translates as a lack of sales in Hero Factory whereas I would say Lego is making a smart move as a company by mixing things up to maintain and reignite sales. Hero Factory is good but has become predictably constant so even though Bionicle is roughly the same idea, it is different enough at least through the intriguing storyline. Anyway, I can vaguely recognize classic Toa Tahu and Kopaka so far. via Brickset

So reading through this forum topic has kind of depressed me haha. None of you guys seem to be into Bionicles all that much. And the few of you who have sets have the newer ones (year 2006 on). Well, I'm here to say that Bionicle fans do in fact exist and in mass. In fact, I recently saw lego investing has an actual opportunity after I unearthed my collection. 99 sets spanning from 2001 to 2004/2005. It is pretty much a complete collection of sets from those years. Here are the lego numbers: : 8811, 8594, 8595, 8621, 1390, 1392, 1393, 8531, 8532, 8533, 8534, 8535, 8536, 8537, 8538, 8539, 8540, 8541, 8542, 8543, 8544, 8545, 8548, 8549, 10023, 8550, 8551, 8552, 8553, 85…

I think this is the nastiest of all the Bionicle sets and would love to own it, but I can see the price for a used set is over $200. Are there any specialty pieces with this set or can I make it out of regular Bionicle pieces?
