  3. I got a call Tuesday morning about a State Trooper in Chicopee,Ma asking me if a sold some Lego sets to a guy in that city, I said I guess, then he told me he has 2 sets with my name, and phone number. It was a SSDS $849 & Death Star $600 after checking my Fedex slips the 2 sets were bought in August 2016. So After Checking my paypal it did show they were bought by Stolen Credit cards, and paypal froze the $1400 but after a week or so I got my money back, as it was Confirmed address and Seller Protection. Now the trooper said the guy that owns the house said he saw a ad in cragslist saying he will pay $20 for each package that got delivered to his house. Then the guy …

  5. Is your LEGO collection a mess? Is it perfectly organized so you can always find the perfect LEGO element? No matter how big your collection is (or how well organized), I'd love to hear about your LEGO collection! I'm collecting your LEGO storage ideas for an article that helps you find the best storage solutions for your small, large, or growing LEGO collection. It will also include tips and tricks from various LEGO builders around the world. To make it much easier to collect unbiased feedback, I created the following survey. (It will take less than 5 minutes, and I would really appreciate your feedback!) Take the Survey! I'm very interested to hear about what …

  7. Does anyone out there do Lego Investing/Collecting/(according to some people) Hoarding full time? If so, how does it work? Long term or short term? If I want to start doing it full time, what are some steps I should take to start it?

I need to just vent some sadness and this forum feels better than any other due to the kindness and true care that each of you have for one another. I'm newer here but come here more often than any other forum out there. Today I learned of a car accident that occurred yesterday and unfortunately took the life of one of my best friends; his wife, whom I also consider one of my best friends, is fighting for her life in critical condition. These two were awesome and cared for others before themselves in nearly every situation. It's a shame that bad things like this occur. I don't think I've been this devastated before and not to put other people I've known who have p…

Given that it's February and Valentine's Day is but a week away, I believe that it's time to bring up The Talk (About your LEGO hobby). For those of us who were not blessed with beloved partners who loved LEGO just as much as we did, how did you talk to your SO about the wonders of the plastic brick, especially if they were skeptical, hostile, or had no idea that you have so many mini-figures hidden everywhere? Any other sagely advice is welcome as well.

  10. I would love to know which would save or make you more money in the long run... 1) Using your investment and subsequent investments (would love approximate examples from some of you) on buying Lego and flipping year after year and determining actual return on it after paying taxes (assuming most of you do on your sales/net income) 2) taking that initial deposit and subsequent "additional money" and paying down your home loan and how much interest you would save over the life of the loan Let's keep time value of money out of it, as well as, inflation Here's a quick example on the loan side... $200,000 Loan, 30 yr, 4% (total interest paid through t…

Since getting a table saw, cutting items to exact measurements and straight (vs a circular saw) has been much easier and much more fun too. I've create the following over the past day or so and am basically down to the final phases (including gluing and nailing, I know the shelves are not straight in the picture). I'm leaning towards staining this cherry but figured I'd ask the community other preferences to make sure I don't overlook something I may like more. The majority of mini-figures displayed will be Star Wars. I also did this as a 4 stud deep to accommodate more mini-figures as it allows for them to be side-by-side if I really wanted to squeeze them in there b…

Have you considered making your own brick films or curious about the process then perhaps check out this collaborative book from David Pagano (Paganomation) and David Pickett (Brick 101) available at No Starch Press and Amazon.

I'm sure many of you have kids and have bought a half metric buttload of duplo for them. I just started my 18mo with his first of many sets. When he gets old enough, I plan on trying to maximize resale value of these if possible and then reinvest into sets he wants when he's old enough. So for those of you that have reselling experience with duplo, is it worth it to keep the box/manual or no? I've noticed that the manuals don't generally have the part listing, and they're located on the box but I'm sure you can verify the parts online. I don't see there being a big AFOL following for non-themed duplo.

Easily the most influential part of my childhood was this book. It was a fun adventure of a couple told through the universal language of still frames sometimes having a few semi "how to" builds strewn about and two sticker sheets added for good measure. There was a little theme mixing but nothing really. I mean nowhere near The LEGO Movie levels. Haha. Well anyway turns out Jangbricks had a recent nostalgia trip for a video so anyone wanting to relieve some memories or just curious to see page by page what it was then watch this.

I know that I'm a little late for Christmas, but I have received a number of questions about great gifts for LEGO Architecture enthusiasts, and I thought that fellow Brickpicker readers might be interested as you wrap-up your holiday gift shopping. Naturally, I included my favorite LEGO Architecture & related sets, as they make fantastic gifts. At this point, my Splurge suggestion is the Parisian Restauraunt, my midrange pick is the US Capitol Building, and my budget pick is the Berlin Skyline set. (The 2017 Skylines also look very interesting and I hope I can recommend them for holiday 2017.)A few of my gift ideas for LEGO Architecture enthusiasts.I also wanted t…

I enjoy watching the brichshow for lego reviews but I have noticed that Jason doesn't review sets anymore or at least I have not seen one in a long time. Am I missing something here? Anyone have any insight about this? Just curious as a brickshow fan.

I ran into a scam artist trying to sell me a comic book I want. Dude gave me his paypal address. Is there anything I could do to report his email he gave me? Perhaps paypal can take a look at his account (prob fake). I went to paypal and I couldn't find anyway to contact them via email ha.

  21. Have you always wanted to organize your LEGO collection, but didn't know how to get started? Or, maybe you've already sorted your LEGO, but it's hard to find which box, bin or drawer has the part you need? I'm excited to share a massive update to the LEGO Brick Labels collection to include most of the bricks in a typical AFOL LEGO collection.Sample showing crisp images and a clear description of each LEGO Element. This updated collection includes 500 different labels organized into the following groups: Basic Elements (bricks, plates, tiles), SNOT Elements, Slopes, Wedges, Round, Curved, Clips/Hinges. 24. I had the great pleasure of attending the four-day BrickCon Convention this past weekend, here in Seattle. Now in it's 15th year, BrickCon is one of the longest running shows in the country. It was my third year attending the full convention; I also visited the Public Expo three times before that.Los Angeles City Hall, by Bruce Heller. We had an amazing selection of LEGO models on display, about 25% more MOC's were registered this year than last year! My passion is LEGO Architecture, and I was rewarded with amazing models of the Norwegian Opera House, Los Angeles City Hall, and a massive model of Mont Saint-Michel to name a few.Mont Saint-Michel.Not to worry, there was …
