  4. Dear LEGO Fans, I want to share with you my story, more precisely - The way LEGO has changed my life. It all started more than three years ago, When I reached the accomplished age of 30, I had to go under open heart surgery, due to a birth defect. The time has arrived, I started feeling bad, had difficulties breathing, going up the stairs…it started to be hard functioning, and just a year earlier, I became to be a proud father of amazing twins. I was devastated thinking about all the risks and complications involved in the surgery. It was certainly needed, it was necessary in order to promise me and my family life and future. I was always an anxious pe…

I was just going through my exported data, and I see a number of duplicate entries -- the "Create Date" is identical, down to the second. Is this common?

  6. Started by shotglasses,

If I search my collection for an item, and it is not found, can you add a button to the results that says 'add this to my brickfolio' If I search, and don't find, then I have to go to the 'add' page, and re-enter the number. Adding a button to the (failed) results makes things easier.

Hey guys, Extremely new to lego investing and planning on doing it on a very casual basis for a bit of fun in my downtime. Late last year I bought the UCS 10240 X wing and was planning on getting the Tumbler but didn't... Should have. This month I bought the Ewok Village and Pet store because those are the two sets I think will be EOL and have value. What do you guys think? Good idea/ bad idea. ? All my purchases were made at the lego store at a standard price. I think that waiting for specials based on what I've read isn't' the best idea. I see that there is a trend of sets being retired at the end of the year. Is there any other time of year …

Hi, I'm Lane, I'm 41, and from Jacksonville, FL. I'm pretty new to Lego building. I never got into it as a kid. A couple years ago I helped a friend's son put together a small Star Wars set we got him and enjoyed it. I saw one of the previous Slave I models shortly before it was discontinued and thought it was cool. I looked for it a few times online after that and was surprised how expensive they were. In January after debating the new Slave I set for weeks, I finally pulled the trigger. That was my first real, start to finish Lego build. Since then I've built the new Millenium Falcon and the Imperial Shuttle from Star Wars, I'm in the middle of the VW bus, whi…

Hi there, just joined. Well, I'm from Germany and doing things with Lego for a long time, but with 13 it was over since my C64 got in my house. I often got some parts during the years and made a good sortation, but didn't found real time for creating something bigger. But now I'm on a new project and I could need some help. Because I stopped at the sets 8862 and 8865, I'm still more a classic Lego user and don't really like the very high number of available parts. I'll stay with my Technic models with parts up to the year 1989, the year I bought my last Lego set as a kid. The most important parts are available till this time, and the sets are ageless. Think abou…

I have made posts in the past during Educator Appreciation Week at Barnes and Nobles that educators receive 25% off their purchase. So I am teacher. If anyone lives in the Philadelphia, PA area listens to the morning show Preston and Steve (You can podcast it as well from anywhere in the country/world. They are funny.) you would know they do a contest this time of year called "Coolest Teacher." My school was chosen so I am putting it out there if anyone wants to help a fellow Lego Collector out and cast a vote for me. Just need to text Teacher Mr. Snyder to 39333. Votes need to be in by 6 am EST tomorrow (5/21). Am I cool? I collect and build LEGO, isn't that eno…

  12. Started by Jaabo,

My name is Joseph. I have been using the user name Jaabo (the "aa" pronounce like "a" in apple) on Bricklink and ebay for the last 12 years. I have played with Lego and collected them since 1973 and and never had a "dark ages," unless you count the time when in college I spent my college loan money on Lego as a "dark ages." The main themes I collect are Train & Town and Modular Buildings. I used to collect Pirates and Castle, though I later decided that my collection was getting out of control and decided to sell those off. Part of my hobby includes buying older lots on ebay and trying to complete sets from those lots. I usually then sell the sets I don't want to…

Hey, everybody. I've been a member of the site for a couple years now but never been really active in the forums. Like many others, I was a huge fan of Lego growing up but lost my way as I grew older. As younger relatives became interested in Lego, and I had more disposable income, I found my way back. I've started collecting again and catching up on lost time. It's been great chasing the deals and building up my collection but it's time start unloading some of my sets too. I'm looking forward to joining the discussion and using this great resource to become a more informed buyer and seller.

Hi everyone! I'm Brickdream10, my name is Pedro. Before to start browsing and posting on the forum, I wanted to introduce myself. I am a Lego AFOL since long time, I love building Lego sets and also making my own creations by using bricks in a bulk or through design software. I recently decided to upload a couple of ideas in “Lego ideas”. These creations are called “Life!” and “The path of the cherry trees”. For sure I will upload any other ideas in the future. Hope to meet more Lego fans like myself in this forum, and to share creations and opinions with all of you about this such us beautiful passion like Lego. Thanks and Regards!!

  20. Hi all. I am new to Brickpicker... And am a returning Lego fanatic since my childhood. recently got into the Star Wars Lego (big sets) big time and, in the last month have acquired and loved putting together and displaying the UCS Tie-fighter, sand crawler, slave I, star destroyer, millennium falcon, at-at, at-dp, prototype tie-fighter and have kept the ewok village boxed in the hopes the value increases... Can't wait for a new Death Star, especially if it is display and not a play set... Can someone please advise on how Lego announce new sets and what to check to know when new sets are going to be released? thanks in advance!

  21. Hi all, I retrieved my vintage Lego collection from my mom's house over the summer and now I'm hooked again lol. More on that later, but first here's my Lego investing story... I made a (small) fortune flipping Lego in 2006. I basically found a UK discount store (Poundstretcher) had a massive shelf of the smaller 2002 Star Wars sets. I bought about £150 worth and sold them on eBay in 2009 for around 5x what I paid for them! It does kind of suck that had I held onto them they're now worth around 10x what I paid for them. The set I had most of was 7103 (Jedi Duel - maybe the cheapest way to get a Yoda). They pretty much sold the second I put them on eBay. Thi…

Hello all, first time posting but long time lurker. I started out as an avid collector but as the collection grew and the house didn't, something had to give and started reselling the excess. It's been more than 5 years now and it seems LEGO is making more sets than ever before, so I'm hopeful I'll be able to up my game to keep up with my hobby/addiction.

  24. Dropping a quick line to say 'Hi' and to extend to Ed Mack my best wishes for a successful fundraiser. I found out about your plight through TheBrickFan and it tugged on my heartstrings as I know how hard it is for the kiddos (and parents) when faced with such an ordeal (my daughter's former co-op lost their Fed funding last year). My daughers and I adore LEGOs and I consider building & collecting as my mental therapy a well as my personal indulgence (Louis Vuitton purses? Weekly Spa treatments? Nah! I'll just have some modulars, please!) Cheers!
