Hey guys. Just another bloke who happens to love LEGO. Been collecting basically my whole life ( excluding those few years during dark ages and even then i might have bought a few sets ) According to brickset i own 480 sets, not counting collectible minifigs and multiple sets and i wouldn't sell any of em. My fav themes are Modulars/Winter Village/Western/Castle/Pirates/Harry Potter/Indiana Jones/LOTR. A few months back i started thinking about investing: bonds, mutual funds etc and frankly i wasnt impressed with all fees and kinda low roi and then one day i see some discounted sets in local store, like 50% off.. wanted to buy them but didn't for some reason..an…

Hi Everyone! I live in Florida (Miami), but I am originally from Brazil. I recently found this website after some googling! The content, features, and community are fantastic (extremely addictive). I wanted to start building Legos again but I wanted it to be a self-sustainable hobby... so the investing information is very interesting. I bought two sets to build (Slave I / AT-AT) and a couple others to store and see what happens! (after some buying and forum reading... I already see I made some questionable decisions ) The last time I built a Lego set was probably around 1998. It is pretty amazing to see how the building process evolved and the cool mech…

Hi! I'm a lego fan from a lot of years, I love old legos, my favorite Themes are star wars, classic town, harry potter, and indiana jones. The things I love to collect are unreleased sets, i built some of them and I'm working from several time to make set 1375. I think the best lego years are from 1985 to 2002.

  5. Hi all, I've just gotten back into legos when I got a set for my birthday. I'm just wondering when you shop on the lego site as a Canadian do we get stuck paying additional duties once it gets to our houses? Also I have an investment question, are most of the exclusives like modulars pretty much guaranteed to make you some money after 2-3 years? Thanks for taking the time to read my questions.

  8. Hey guys, I'm 21 years old and from Germany. My Lego fever started approximately 16 years ago but froze in the last years. In february 2014 the volcano erupted and now I have started to reactivate my "little" Lego collection. Then i asked myself: what about new sets?? After buying a LOT of Lego and of course selling some smaller sets, I'm very excited about my collection At the moment I have ~80 different sets, most of them Technic and their flagships. This site is very helpful for me in which sets I will invest! If you want to know something more about me, just let me know. PS: sorry for my not perfectly written english, I'm not a native …

Seems odd to do this now but the longer I wait the weirder this becomes... Hi! I'm an early 30s AFOL who is recently rediscovering his love for Lego. It all started with me finding an old set on Craigslist (set 190). I've been buying the kids Lego friends stuff for about a year or so and this set's potential made me buy it. I also picked up a bucket of bricks from the seller at the same time and things have snowballed from there. I'm not a major investor (aka BTP). I do not have shelves of modulars and I'm way jealous of those of you who do. I mostly buy and QFLL to reinvest into Lego and honestly for fun and fun money. Who doesn't like to turn $20 into $…

Hello all, I'm thrilled to be with such like minded people. I have been a lifelong fan of Legos and love building them with my kids. I have just started an investment collection and would appreciate some insight. I currently have Robie House, the Burj Khalifa, the Willis Tower, Ghostbusters Ecto-1, Research Institute, the full size R2d2 and a Sopwith Camel. How am I doing? Many thanks in advance and again, it's great to be here. Parisbrix

  16. Hello, well now it is time to stop lurking and actually speak. I'm a member of this board for more than two years now (since 30 Mar 2012). I always love to read the comments and great articles. It is really awesome how great Ed and his brother rework and update this page. I remember back when I saw this page the first time... milestones away from now! So well I come from Germany and I'm also a Lego Investor. My nickname says all about it, doesn't it I would love to trade with other members here, A few parts of my stock has risen really nice in the US. Maybe I can find some trading partners here! Regards from Germany Marc

Greetings from Seattle. My name is Bill. I'm 46, father of two boys, and am currently reliving my boyhood with them, hopefully not through them. Turning a profit and having fun at the same time?... I'm intrigued. I just bought some stock in 9676 so I'm looking forward to see how they perform in the next 10-15years.

Hi, I'm from Belgium, Europe. French part. I have just started in November to collect my first passion, lego :-) I started to buy some gifts for my nephew... and after for me :-) Before it was the retro gaming NES, SNES, megadrive, neo geo, etc., during 2 years. But I stop for lego now. So now it is Lego star wars.... yes... one more :-) Simpson's and all nostalgic ideas like Ghostbusters, Back to the future, etc. But when I start something, I want to be well informed. So just a few information about what I read today on the forum: - YES, people from Hong Kong, Malaysia, US, etc have a big stock of UCS, etc... I met Chinese to my provid…

Hi there! A year ago, I had another account (forgot the username though). I have always found this idea of investing in LEGO sets to be fascinating. I have said to myself for a year now that I would get into LEGO investing, and I never did it. Now I have a nice amount of money, and I am willing to take on this hobby. I am sixteen years old, and I look forward to seeing you all

Hi folks, Probably a standard story... Nearly bought of 10179 quite a few years ago, literally hovering over the buy button and stupidly didnt - regretted it ever since and even more when i noticed the current prices. Bought a 7965 for myself for christmas. Loved the build but it wasnt enough, I started bricklinking the 10179 and am now about 95% there. All this seems to have awoken some kind of lego daemon within me that has lay dormant for ~30 years (im 37) Sooooo I decided I would have a bash at Lego investing and here I am. Any wisdom is very much appreciated. Cheers Bryn
