Hello All, I ran into this site awhile back when doing some research on Legos for my son. Long and the short, he was really wanting the latest Star Destroyer that came out, but when we got around to Christmas shopping, it was sold out. Tried to find it everywhere, but was not successful. However, I did run across this site, which was rather interesting. The night before I found this site, my wife showed me that infamous article about Legos being worth more than gold, and we had a good chuckle. Then, while searching, I found this site, and saw the Lego investing was quite a serious bit of business. As someone who works regularly with securities investments and a…

Hi there. Long time lurker, first time poster. I picked up a few sets back in 2013 thanks to this site, but never kept up with it. Recently some friends said they were doing Lego investing and got me back into this. I found out my 2013 buys have appreciated quite nicely and I'm jumping in to start picking up more stuff. I'm also a huge Star Wars fan, so most of my stuff is from that series, but I'm also a Lego fan in general, so I'm always looking for the next cool set. Looking forward to our next great find!

After getting bored with comics and MTG, and with the kid old enough to appreciate it, I'm diving into Lego! Completed my first few BrinkLink buys, and looking forward to building the SDCC batmobile! Any other Vancouver Islanders here?

Hello!! I'm a new member from Portugal and I'm a long time Lego fan. I'm 35 years old and have a few Lego sets since I was around 5 years old. A few years ago me and my wife rediscovered the happiness of building and playing with Lego's when we were almost 30 years old! This is the beauty about Lego. You play when your a child, you play while growing up and when your a father/mother it all starts again! looking forward to learn. Bit more about this Lego world and all it has to offer. All the best!!!

  7. Hi guys! I am new to this forum although I am already being member of other LEGO forums (Eurobricks, Brickset, Rebrick...). People may know my "stuff" tho: for example, in case you are using BlueRender for your LDD models' renders then I am the author of its MOD adding all those realistic stuff to it (brick seams, slope grains, real glass, logo-on-studs, color shadows from trans parts, proper materials, lights advanced options and much more) + I am author/developer of somewhat already a bit known LEGO Space pseudo subtheme called Techtroners (if you've never heard about it you can check it on my official webpage: http://lego.queryen.com). Also I am owner of…

Hi all, my name is Matt, I'm from Leicestershire in the UK and I'm new to collecting and investing. I've been lurking on here for a few weeks and looking forward to being part of the community I recently cleared out a lot of stuff via eBay have brought myself a few sets to build over the next few months including the black pearl and the haunted house. Looking forward to building those, I really enjoyed building the queen annes ship I brought last year. Investment wise I have a few Star Wars ucs sets and was very lucky to get the last tumbler at my local smyths toy store.

Hello eveyone and greeting from sunny Malaysia! The primary reason I joined was to re-kindle my interests in Lego which I played with while growing up in this part of the world some thirty odd years ago. And the remarkable thing is after all this while I am amazed to see so many people, both adults and children still very much interested in all those colourful and wonderful plastic bricks. My primary interest is in the Lego Classic Space series released by Lego at the end of the 70s and the early 80s. I have kept all my Lego including the boxes and instructions until this very day and I just took them out to assemble and admire at a while ago. It really brought…

Hi everyone! I grew up playing with LEGO for years and years and have recently wanted to get back into collecting LEGO again as an AFOL (these acronyms aren't too bad!). Not knowing where to even begin, I wandered into my local Target store to browse some sets, decided to buy nothing, then wandered over to two separate LEGO Stores and made a few purchases to build my personal collection. Excited, I came home and wanted to dive into more and research a bit about the LEGO community on the internet. I recently stumbled across the Brickpicker community when I was fumbling around webpages exploring my desire to get back into LEGO. What an amazing community with tons of gr…

Greetings everyone, I'd like to introduce myself after a few weeks of silent reading. I came out of my dark age last year and first started building a few models again (Creator Expert line and Star Wars UCS), and then stumbled upon the investment scene. I don't consider myself a big investor, I'm in it more for the fun of collecting and the occasional couple 100 Euros a year for investment. I'm 31 years old and live in Regensburg in southern Germany. I've already learned a lot from this site and I'm looking forward to a lot more to discover here

  14. Hello, I'm Steve and I live on the south coast of the UK. Unknowingly, I've been a Lego collector my whole life. I've always been a bit of a pedant when it comes to keeping boxes and instructions and so on, but this really did come into my favour when I sold my Technics collection. I had about 2/3rds of the Technics collection from my childhood, from 1977-1987, all neatly stored in boxes with instructions and (most!) of the parts. When time came to think of what to do with it all to clear some space in the loft I decided that it would best be presented as a complete collection of 10 years worth of Lego Technics, and so sought all the sets that I was missing. I a…

Hello everyone! After several weeks lurking on the site, I can see what a bustling community this is and am eager to join in. My name is Andrew, 29, and I am based in Leamington Spa, UK A fan of Lego all my life, first set I can recall getting was 6959 - Lunar Launch Set (still have it!) After coming into some spare cash at the start of 2016 and thinking I should be a grown up and turn this into more money, whilst simultaneously wanting a new fun hobby to kick start the year, I thought: let's combine the both! Thus, the Lego investment journey begins. I have spent c.£300 so far this year on sets to retain, many of which on the back of experiences …

Hi, first post here. I allways liked lego's but I heard and read stories about how investing in lego's can bring nice returns. I'm sure I need to do a lot of research here. But I would like some good positive advice on how to make lego investing work. My main plan right now is to buy star war lego's. I will buy them new and store them in the new box for maybe 5 or 10 years. Is this a good strategy. Should I concentrate on certain different sets. I figure anything star wars would sell? Please any advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I'm a 41 y/o father of 2. One likes everything Star Wars while the other one likes Friends. Used their love for Lego as an excuse to ask for the AT-AT for X-mas (which I did receive) and bought my wife the Friends Hotel. Still have some sets from the late 80's (with box and booklet....Thank you Mom!!). When my wife started selling her old Care Bears on Ebay, I offered to be her Lego consultant Was a pretty easy sell as she was already regretting not purchasing 2 AT-AT when she bought mine for X-Mas, having realized that Lego can really go up in value. (Little side story - I found, and bought, an AT-AT at my local TRU Wednesday evening!!). Really …

Hi there, just wanted to say hello and, more importantly, thank everyone for all of the wonderful information! I have a large Pirate and Castle collection dating back to my childhood in the early and mid 90s and came across this website last fall. Had some fun building my portfolio just for kicks, but discovered the real value of the site later when I was deciding on the merits of buying a large collection of used sets. Went for it after doing my research here and flipped them on eBay and nearly doubled my money! But it was only the past month or so that I really started getting into the wealth of knowledge on the forums and I have really enjoyed perusing all the insights…

This site was brought to my attention from a family member / avid Lego aficionado. I am very eager and interested in learning more about the pursuit in Lego collecting and had to go dig out my 5 year old opened box series 2 mini figures (removed 1 complete set for myself of course) before registering. After reading a blog on this site I ran out and purchased a couple of goodies, in my opinion: 42036 Street Motorcycle, mainly because I have been riding motorcycles for over 20 years 21301 Ideas Birds - well these just look like very nice set of Lego birds I look forward to reading much more material on this site and will learn quite a bit I …

Hellooo! I'm new to here. I like collecting Lego and this is my first time realize Lego has invest value! I love those "big" and nice detailed Lego sets. I don't think I could hold one set for such a long time without open and build it :D, so I'm a more collector then investor.

Hello everyone, my name is SteveAlaska. It's great to be a part of an awesome Lego site on the "interwebbings". I've been into Legos off and on for the greater part of my life and I think it's fantastic that the brand continues to grow and improve. I buy mostly to build and occasionally as an investment. I've learned a lot from quite a few of you in the past few days of reading here. Looking forward to the future friendships that develop through correspondence here.
