I recently posted a set on bricklink for $95 and it sold a couple days later. (cheapest on BL) The user is from Canada (I'm in the US) and send a message asking if they can pay by paypal and if I will send it as a gift...I responded and said yes you can definitely pay with paypal, but I would not send it as a gift as I'm selling it (I understand customs taxes probably aren't cheap in canada) However, the user has 0 feedback. I am looking up shipping rates to canada for this large set and it's around $38, and tracking is not available for this feature. The user created an account feb 23, so it's their first 2 weeks apparently. I dont know....should I go ahead and sel…

So I have only been selling for a few months on eBay, mostly smaller things to learn, build feedback and polish my processes. So far I have done pretty good but one thing is becoming clear. Between shipping labels and packing slips one prints alot of paper. Currently I have a kodak inkjet printer and it works fine and cartridges are reasonable but have a smaller capacity. I am getting about 100 pages per cartridge at about 12 bucks a cartridge. So I find myself eying a laser jet printer as they can do give or take 5000 pages on a 50 dollar toner cartridge. The con is the much higher entry cost of the printer vs one I already have. But in the long run they are…

I had buyer's remorse so I returned a few sets this week. 1 - Hive Crawler (50% off) 2 - Swarm Interceptor (30% off) 2 - Black Zero Escape (30% off) I'm also planning to return the 4 AS I bought from Target (2 thru eBay) since they aren't retiring and I'd like to free up some funds for other purchases. Feel free to post your returns here. It could be buyer's remorse, better deal, damaged box, etc.

Hey Guys its DeadlyGaming here and I wanted to ask you guys a question. How much should I sell my legos for? I have about 65grand-95grand legos pieces. Which in all probably has cost me 10k-15k. There is probably 1000-1500 sets too. Most of them are used too. Please tell me what you think I should sell them for. -DeadlyGaming

I have been researching opening up a vintage/current toy store, and I was wondering if anyone who how to go about getting newer sets in bulk? Can you go through Lego or is there a wholesaler you can go through? Still waiting on a response from Lego themselves, just wondering if anyone had any thought or input on this.

I recently found an add on Craigslist and had about $400 to spend. I believe I hit the motherlode! It is about 50lbs and they were all sorted by color. I looked up a couple of the set numbers and was able to find instructions online and so far the sets are complete. The most interesting one is what looks to be a complete train set with a lot of track which was not shown on the pictures! I think the hardest part is going to be seperating everything but it is enough to warrant several bins/drawers. Does $400 seem reasonable for this lot? Its crazy how many pieces came with it including tons of 6X6, 6X8 and 6X10 plates, there are also several 6X12s. I cant wait to have some …

I'm fairly well established as an EBay Individual Seller (Power Seller status, 100% Positive with 185 FB), and now wondering if I should branch out to selling on Amazon also. For those with experience with selling on both, how do they compare in regards to ease of use, selling fees, for both an individual and or Professional/Store, etc. How many of you actually sell on both Amazon and EBay? Which do you prefer? Is it worth it to sell on both? Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

Hey guys! Wasn't entirely sure where to put this... I am selling it so this may be appropriate. I have a sealed 6866 which seems to have a rattling piece inside not in a bag. Now i have a couple of these left and none have this unique rattling sound which i'm %99 sure it's a very tiny loose piece not bagged rattling around. I know from experience some large pieces are not bagged in some sets, but this one sounds like a very very tiny piece. I'm more or less wondering if this is anything to be concerned about. Could one of the bags have a tiny hole it escaped from? could it be a fluke and just an extra piece? Does anyone else have any experience with this…

Hi all! First time shipping a lego set internationally. Need to ship it out urgently but realised I ran out of the USPS transparent envelope (2976-E) which is used to contain the customs forms. I have a UPS transparent one sitting at home though. Does anyone know if I can use that instead or is USPS strict abt this? I've also scheduled a pick-up for my parcel - by any chance the USPS mailman will have any of these stashed in his vehicle? Really appreciate any help or advice here. Thanks in advance!

So I was wondering how everyone is taking care of this - Its one of the few things I haven't really developed a "system" for. Do most of you just calculate your taxes at the end of the year and just pay it? Do you take a certain amount out of each of your sales to stow away? I was thinking about just withdrawing 30% each time I withdraw from Paypal to a Savings account so I make sure I have money on hand. I was curious if others do it this way - or do you do more? Less? Obviously its tough to know exactly what you will pay unless you are putting it straight into a tax calc - which maybe thats what people do?

Hi there, I have a large (19 inch tall) Lego figure that I wish to sell. As far as I am aware they have never been sold, they are only acquired as a retailer stocking lego - they are used for store merchandising. Any idea how rare this is and how much it would be worth? Thanks

This is probably located somewhere else but I couldn't figure it out on B&****** website or find here. I want to grab a Death Star at my closest B&******. I saw on their site about the kids program and you get 30% off first Toy purchase. I signed up for my online account only, not my kids club thing yet. I heard it entitles you to 10% discount on everything? Is this true? So with the kids club coupon it will be 40% off total for a DS? Sorry if the questions are stupid I don't want to take a ride to B&****** and not get the 40% off. Thanks LD

Hello all! Like many others before me, I've decided to use bricklink to sell off my spare Lego to help fund my hobby. I've opened up a shop, had my first few orders and ran into a problem. See, I hate all the different fees and shipping costs on BL, so I decided to take another approach. No fees, no shipping costs... Something I'm able to do because I mainly want to sell minifigures with maybe the additional set thrown in. The problem I have is this, if I offer this service and people order a 1 euro minifig ans want to have it shipped to the other side of the world, obviously I'd be losing money. I really don't mind losing out on a bit of money to be able to s…

Does Amazon always just charge a flat rate for everything? The shipping is always a LOT more than what they automatically charge the customer ($6.95 I think). How does everyone do it, just charge more for the product?

All, I would like your help...what system are you using to print online labels and postage for standard post and 1st class large envelopes for USPS? I was looking at Stamps.com - is that a good solution? I was hoping for a company that had USPS and FedEX/UPS but if not that is OK since 90% of my packages will be USPS. Standard Post (sets and large packages) and 1st class large envelope (minifigs, etc.) are huge for me and I would like to find an online solution for printing these out rather than standing in line at the PO You cannot print these online at usps.com. That said, what label makers are you guys using to get this done? I recently bought the dy…

Do most use Priority as it seems almost the same if not a little cheaper when shipping ? Small items excluded. I'm shipping a Cloud Cookoo and Priority is cheaper than Parcel Post. Thanks

So far, I have been selling newer sets and flipping them for cash, which is great. I have sold more popular sets through eBay (Mine Craft, Star Wars and other big sets), but the gauging of the fees sucks! Haven't tried Amazon yet, but I will once I figure the best way to handle the traffic in the future. I'm hoping for less fees, but from researching, it appears it will be the same or more (depending on certain things). Craigslist is obviously the cheapest route, but not enough exposure. You have to deal with some really special people, which can suck! Would love to sell more sets through my site, but need more exposure and with some planning, I ca…

I've never parted out a set or sold the figures from a set. I'm just wondering if there are sets out there that members are having success parting out? Thanks in advance for posting!

Do they always ship the sets by themselves without a shipping box? I have read a number of horrible stories here and wonder if there are any positive incidents. Bought 2 tower bridges with the current $40 GC promotion and certainly hope I don't learn the lesson the hard way. I mean, they cannot always be that retarded, can they?

Looking for estimates on how much you wise people would pay for the full inventory of a Bricklink store, where the seller is keen to get rid of it all due to leaving the country (how dodgy does that sound?!) I'm in the UK, the parts are in the UK. Total parts count is 110000 approx. A full range of parts, not just rubbish. Comes with all storage that the seller has been using to run the store. Volume takes up one wall about 2m x 3m x 0.3m deep Looking for just a quick estimate. I normally work at 5p a part, so we're looking at about 5500GBP. Anyone got any thoughts? Buying the stuff to sell on BL and/or ebay
