Hey All, I have the unfortunate task of selling my dads collection! I had someone advise me to sell the minifigs separate and then just sell all the sets as lbs of bulk pieces. I was wondering if that is really the best route considering half of the sets are discontinued. The majority of the sets are Star Wars but also include many others. Discontinued sets are of the old clone wars era, Hoth, and Ewok, and some specific ships. Before I list anything, i was just wondering what some more expert opinions are. Condition of all sets are that they are displayed in varying combat scenarios or hug as if they are flying in a dedicated space. They are all well car…

Hey everyone! So my son has been playing lego for a while (I used to play as a kid too) but seemed limited in what he could build based on the amount/type of lego we have. So I bought 50lbs of lego from craigslist and now there's so much I'm sure he won't be able to play with it all. So I've been reading around and discovered the magical world of used lego selling Anyway, I wanted to try what many of you do and sell some of our lego with the aim to make a profit so that it can fund more lego (brand new sets that he picks out himself and/or more used lots). From what I've gathered, the best way to sell mixed lego is to sort it, build any sets as near complete as …

I just noticed something tonight while listing an item for sale on Mercari. I am new to selling on that platform so I am sure that some of you have probably already noticed this. Mercari charges 10% fees. But while building the listing if you list it as free shipping for the buyer then Mercari charges you 10% of the shipping fee as well (kinda like Ebay applies their fees to shipping costs as well). But, if you list it as buyer pays for shipping then you do NOT get charged the 10% on shipping. For example, if I sell a item for $100 and it costs $15 to ship this item nationwide (only option on Mercari) then I pay 10% of $100 to Mercari leaving me with $90 and then I p…

I never had this issue before even when adding insurance, Non-eBay transaction with payment (over $250) made using PayPal. Buyer is in Singapore. PayPal was used to create the USPS International Express shipping label. Only problem when printing the postal label was adding insurance (not an option within the GUI). I confirmed with both USPS and PayPal phone reps that insurance can be added at my local Post Office. Shipping cost $95 rounded. At the Post Office, the clerk claimed she wasn't able to add insurance since the "label # or some customs # " wasn't in the system (in hindsight, maybe I should have used USPS.com to print this label...). She also said this …

Hey folks, scanned the forums and didn't exactly find what I was looking for, so... I'm going to be selling a few sets and wanted to get a sense of what the best option is. I've used eBay for a loooong time with no issues and like it except for the $$ cut eBay takes. On some of the higher ticket items I'll be selling, that percentage comes up to quite a bit. Is local Craigslist or another online option a better choice for selling? Thanks for your time.

I just received a delivery from Kmart and this was in the box. In case anyone is interested it looks like they are giving out 1,000 points ($1) per review. Limit of 25 per quarter. Not a bad way to pick up some points if you are a person that writes reviews anyway.

Something just happened that prompted me to write this. It's not a negative thing, just a observation. I have recently got into parting out some sets, so I am having a go at 75902 Scooby Doo Mystery Machine RRP £30. I have all the figures, the Zombie Tree & the Van listed separately. Fred Jones is unique so I sold him for a BIN of £11. A few days later I sold the Van for £15. I'm writing the address, it seems familiar. I check my inbox and yes, its the person who bought Fred Jones from me a few days before. So over about a week they've spent £26 only £4 short of the full RRP of the entire set to get about 60% of it…

Hi, I purchased a 10179 MF last week from seller JackMcDonald in the UK and transferred the money via bank. He has plenty of good reviews, so it did not seem risky at the time. Since transferring the money he does not respond anymore. I gave him a negative rating to warn other people for him. In return, he gave me a bad review, which really hurts my three years of positive reviews here. The guy is still getting positive reviews from a couple of accounts repeatedly, which makes me think he might have hacked a couple of accounts in order to build a positive review legacy. I tried Bricklink to do something about this, but they only cancelled the order. Since I …

So I went on bricklink and wanted to buy some more jet packs for my clones, found a guy that had ten for $.99 a piece so I ordered them. Well, they came yesterday and I was really excited about this, (I LOVE jet packs) but when I opened them up everything seemed normal until I compared it with another jet pack I had got in a set and the one I order was just a tad bit different, I looked on the back for the piece ID number and "The Lego group" thingy but neither of them were there. I emailed the guy and he wrote back saying that he had bought these off Bricklink a long time ago and that he didn't know about them being customs, but if I sent them back he would give me a ful…

Hi guys I'm a big fan of Lego Pirates. I own some of the original classic pirates sets and the newer models. I managed to pick up some of the potc sets like the QAR and Whitecap bay but sadly missed out on the Black Pearl. I'm really eager to pick this set up but its so expensive in the after market right now. Is anyone on here looking to sell there's or know some one or somewhere that isn't selling it for a ludicrous price. Thanks. Admins if this is the wrong place to post this please take it down, thanks again

This is my first holiday season as a seller. I have a few sets that I'd like to sell. Do prices rise around the holiday season? I have a friend who sells vintage video games and he said the prices soar when Amazon kicks the small timers off for the holiday season. What has your experience been? Thanks

I just got a great deal on 30+lbs of Lego blocks from yard sale. I plan on putting the sets together and buying the instructions from bricklink. After I have some fun putting them together I thought I would sell them on eBay. Many of the sets are retired and I should be able to get some money for them. What I want to know, is it worth buying the original boxes to complete the set. Also if I decide to keep the mini figs will it hurt the cost they go for. Thanks!

Hey guys, I'm new here but I have been wanting to sell my sets for awhile now. I have LOTS of trains related pieces, tracks and several train sets from when when I was younger. I have a question before I try to sell. I do not have the boxes for any of the sets but all the sets are still assembled, would it best for me to leave them assembled and sell them or just break them apart and sell as a bulk?

I need to use some Kmart rewards points in the next couple of days and I decided to pick up the Chima gorilla mech and some fillers to get free shipping. Kmart doesn't have too many options. I have narrowed down my three filler options too: 1. Republic Trooper vs sith battlepack 11.36 and Castle Forest Ambush 9.29 total 20.65 2. Shredders Dragon Bike 24.96 3. Sith battlepack and Droidekas battlepack 11.72 for total of 23.08 Which should I go with?

I just wanted to let everyone know I received a 20% coupon from Barnes & Noble today so be on the lookout for one in your email. The email is labeled "20% Off One Item - Sweet Valentine's Day". I do have a BN membership so not sure if it is because of that. Also if you aren't going to use your coupon maybe post the code here for other Brickpicker members.

Not sure where to post this, but I am more of a collector (aka lego hoarder) and while I should probably resell what I have as it's overtaking our house, I've never purchased in insane quantities, sold anything, or otherwise. With the 2x VIP points, I made two orders, one for a Sea Cow and a few friends sets, and another for a Cinema Palace, both shipped to a relative's home as I've done countless times in the past. I don't buy 100 vampire hearses, for instance. To note, I have made about 25~ orders in 2013 to now via lego's site. These two orders were placed and then cancelled and having spent about a half hour on the phone with them, my account was f…

Hello, Potentially dumb question here, or at least a question I think I have found an answer to, but wanted to confirm with the community here: Are basic brick boxes, such as the 6177 Builders of Tomorrow, collectible? I suspect that, being simple collections of standard bricks also readily available via Pick-a-Brick, they would not increase much in value. Is this correct?

I have a 10% off LEGO store coupon from the new catalog that I'm not gonna use. Its good until 4/15 first person to respond gets it. I will mail it to you for free. No catch I am just not gonna use it, I was gonna use it to get a SSD but my Lego stores don't carry them anymore and the coupon needs has to be used in store.
