I went on a huge lego buying binge yersterday and bought a bunch of craigs list star war lego sets. These are the sets i bought. 6975, 7151, 7101, 8037, 7957, 7748, 7965, 8018, and 7962. All are complete except 8018 missing 2 of the silver bulky droids. No boxes with these used sets just instructions which are in good shape. I paid $305 dollars for all. I also have 3 boxes of bulk legos and a couple instructions that i mite be able to peice together an extra non star wars set or 2. Like 10 extra mini figs, star wars and other random mini figs. I think i just got to excited and tried to bargin but they wouldnt come down much and after a 45 min drive just bought every thing…

  5. I finally bought it! This was my first and only "big" LEGO set as a child. Everything else was scrounged from a Happy Meal or hustled off some neighborhood kid for pennies on the dollar. My dad would only buy me Joe's, because they were the real American heroes. That flip lid means so much to me. I remember hanging out in the stores and that little plastic window gave me a glimpse into another world. LEGO made the best box art too. It actually represented what was in the box and provided the same excitement. Do you remember the Nintendo box art? Some of the best until you actually played the game. Man, what a let down lol! I'm interested to see others …

Has Shopko always had great prices on Lego? I went today to check out what they had, since I had never stepped foot in the store, and they had a pretty decent Lego aisle. On top of that, the prices were amazing. Keep in mind, these are their regular prices: Helm's Deep-$99.99 Jabba's Palace -$89.99 The list goes on. They were also running a 10% off deal until December 24, and had sets like Mines or Moria on sale for $59.99, Clone Wars Geonosian Fighter for $9.99, regular price. Didn't pick anything up today because I really wanted to ban myself for awhile, but the prices were really hard to beat. Is this normal for this store? They still had the Creator Seas…

  8. Dear fellow BP, I'd like to ask for your help please :-) I want to sell my LEGO 10188 Death Star (totally new unopened in its shipping box!) via ebay.com The problem is: Even though the item is located in the U.S. I have no clue about shipping there! (Because I'm from germany and have no clue about U.S. shipping ;-) ). I already googled and tried to compare but it just makes no sense to me whatsoever. But I'm sure there are people here who already have successfully sold and shipped their UCS Death Stars via ebay.com right? So please lend me a helping hand. What's the best way to ship it? What shoul I write in ebay and what price to select f…

I read many of you rant and rave about Lego in these forums. This site surely is a great place for all of us to vent and share knowledge and deals at the same time. I love Lego and my first toy was a Baby Rattle from the 80s. The sets have came a long way from the old 8860 Technic sports car and the 8851 Technic Excavator that you had to cut your own air tube to connect to the air pumps. I'm sure the futures models will be better for years to come. What's bothering me the most recent were the 10% coupon as well as the free promo policy in recent months. These 2 topics have been discussed on other threads in great length. I took some time talking with store man…

Hi, I recently joined Brick Picker and really like the site. I started investing in LEGOs about 4 years ago and have really started to see my investment grow. I have sold only a few of my sets on eBay but I am planning on getting rid of more once certain sets hit the price point I want them to. What I'm needing help on is this -- Where do you find boxes that work for to ship your LEGO sets? As I have been storing and organizing my sets I have noticed that all sets, for the most part, come in a certain size box. It makes no difference what theme it is. I find it hard to believe that there is not a manufacturer out there that hasn't come up with boxes to sh…

I've got a collection on of futuron sets. 13 used sets, 3 have boxes (cosmic laser launcher, interplanetary rover, and Stardefender 200), the rest are complete with instructions. I've had a lot of offers, most is in 200 range. I bought this on cl for 70. The highest offer I've gotten is 275... Should I accept and sell? I used lot calculator that puts this lot at about 320 so it's not too far off. Here is a pic:

So I haven't really encountered this and was wondering what others have done. I sent a package USPS priority last week. Buyer sends pictures today showing outside box and inside contents being crushed. I sent it to him MINT - lots of packing materials, all new shipping boxes. He sent me an FYI - not asking for anything but showing me the boxes have been clearly damaged on shipping. Am I responsible for this? Has anyone else encountered this before ?(i'm sure this must be common...) Any recourse for obtaining damages from shipper?

I recently received two packages of retired sets via UPS from two separate stores, and the shipping boxes and sets within suffered from significant damage. So I started a claims process and was wondering how long the whole process is going to take. And if I'd receive the items back if the claims were rejected since I read that UPS has a stringent claims policy.

I'm going to be I Minneapolis for work and I was wondering if it is worth it to make a special trip to the LEGO store in the Mall of America or is it just the same as any other LEGO store? I am hoping that there is something at the Mall of America store that I can't get at my store or online. You know, like a specific store exclusive or a uniquely diverse pick a brick wall. Anyone know for sure? Thanks!

  18. Hi everyone, I'm looking to purchase a lot of complete sets, from the early nineties era. Some castle and pirates etc. There are no instructions, at all. The sets are built (from online instructions) and photographed, so I know the sets are complete. I'm just wondering, how much lower than the market value these sets are then worth? is there a percentage anybody uses? do buyers generally care a great deal about the instructions?? Any info is greatly appreciated cheers,

  19. All, I would like your help...what system are you using to print online labels and postage for standard post and 1st class large envelopes for USPS? I was looking at Stamps.com - is that a good solution? I was hoping for a company that had USPS and FedEX/UPS but if not that is OK since 90% of my packages will be USPS. Standard Post (sets and large packages) and 1st class large envelope (minifigs, etc.) are huge for me and I would like to find an online solution for printing these out rather than standing in line at the PO You cannot print these online at usps.com. That said, what label makers are you guys using to get this done? I recently bought the dy…

I'm 30. Played with legos till my early teens then forgot about them. Then the movie came out and now I want legos. But since they are so expensive and since I don't like to let people just walk with my money I'm almost certain I'm not buying retail, esp. not after seeing the prices at Walmart, Target, Toys R Us, etc. I'll likely search the internet until I find a decent lego let. But I've been at this for a week and still have to find a good deal. On amazon, for instance, there are a bunch of people trying to sell legos by the pound. But there is so much that is wrong with that business model that I don't even know where to start with my list of complaints: what i…

I wanted to know how to become a licensed seller of Lego products and get the order form some people on this site have. I've been incorporated for the last 2 years and wanted to expand to selling Legos at a retail level. Any info from people who do this is much appreciated

This is my first post on Brickpicker (hurray!), I've been lurking for a little while now. My question: does anyone know what the item number listed on the bottom of the box is used for? For example, Uruk-Hai Army set #9471 lists "Item: 4653953" above the UPC code. I'm listing a few sets on Ebay and I'm wondering if this number is important or should be included somewhere. Any replies appreciated, and thanks to everyone for such an awesome site; you've already provided me with tons of useful info.

I don't know how I missed this, but the new Dimentional Weight pricing is going to hurt when selling any of the larger sets. Just wanted to point out the change so you guys are prepared. Links for reference https://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/USPS-dimensional-weight-changing-in-June/ba-p/29842834 https://ir.ebaystatic.com/pictures/aw/shipping/DIM_Weight_client_R7.pdf

  24. I received an email from a person via my BL store. Person wanted a shipping quote on one set. I gave the quote. Then they came back and said apparently my store states I won't ship to North Carolina, they copied and pasted a note that the person was getting message "Seller does not support orders shipping to North Carolina." I checked my settings, and didn't see anything that would reflect that, and I'd just made other sales within the US. So we agreed to pay outside the website store (via Paypal invoice) and then I'd ship the order. And again the person stated that my store states that I don't ship to any US state. {Note: I haven't received any orders over the w…

Hi, Since paypal now switches from 45 days for a dispute to a whopping 180 days, and I am generally not eager to pay about 3% of what I get for a buyer protection I don't want, I was looking for alternatives. Going away from paypal is probably not going to work well for most (as it is so well known and "trusted"), but offering an alternative would be nice. Skrill is often mentioned as one of the "bigger" online payment services, at least when I searched for paypal alternatives. Does anybody here use it (regardless whether as buyer or seller), and could share their experience?
