Interesting to see them doing this. Wonder who they’ll let into the program. https://www.cnet.com/google-amp/news/ebay-will-launch-its-own-delivery-service-in-2020/?__twitter_impression=true

Why would you insert a listing picture with the price sticker left on the set? EBay Link Is this smart? Dumb? Stupid? Too lazy? Makes no sense to me.

The title says it all, a poll to see who likes Amazon or eBay better. Once you get done voting feel free to leave a story about the online store you chose..... or the one you didn't. I personally like Amazon.

I'm new to selling on eBay, how much of a percentage do they take off of your transaction?

Hi folks, I need some help. Basically I sold some stuff over ebay and now couple of the buyers come back to me and tell me that the shipping cost shows up $9 something in the product detail page, but after they won the bid and check out, the shipping cost from the final checkout shows $10 something. I just checked other recent transactions, it seems like other buyers may have this issue also. I selected Automatic Calculate and FedEx Economy option when create listing. Does anyone know why the shipping cost in product detail page is different than the checkout page? Is it something configurable in listing page? I tried to contact ebay but I only see the C…

Hey all, Does anyone know how long it takes to void the shipping label (tracking) and receive a refund? I screwed up on the eBay shipping label, so had to redo it and still haven't had any updates (been over a week) on the voided label transaction... Thanks, Merry Christmas!

So I just received an email. Super confused. I went listed Mega Bloks 97015 Seraph Covenant and Mega Bloks 91729 UNSC Pelican Gunship along with a Lego Polybag Winzar's. I got the following email. After reviewing your eBay account, it appears that you have violated eBay's policy. As a result, we've taken the following action on your account: - Listings have been removed. A list of items that were removed can be viewed at the bottom of this message. - We have credited any associated fees to your account. Please be sure your current and future listings follow these guidelines, keeping in mind that additional violations of this policy could result in the suspens…

I have decided to dabble in selling Lego. I've decided that I will do exclusively sealed box sets and may part out a minifig or two if I feel like it could do well, and then sell the rest of the set. My question is, for what I want to do is eBay or bricklink better? I have looked into both and can't decide. eBay has the advantage of having a larger customer base and easier shipping while Bricklink charges much smaller fees and has a smaller but more dedicated buyer list. Advice? If eBay is the winner should I try to stick with auction or a buy it now? Last question-How do I determine the shipping cost? This wouldn't be as much of a problem on Bricklink since I w…

Hi all, Ive bought a couple of 42009s to sell in the future. They are pretty cheap in the uk at the moment. If I sell these unopened boxes in a year or 2 and the buyer finds out that the electric motor doesn't function or similar, I guess I have to take that hit and refund his money? I would assume the warranty for lego is only a year from purchase and its with me. Or would you open up the box now and check the motor works while the item is still under warranty? The set would then have been opened and I guess not so attractive to a buyer. What do people normally do? Cheers Bryn

Ok lets make a European discussion thread about all important stuff for Europe LEGO investing. I am sure there are many similarities to US investing, and entering is the same, but how do Europe investors/AFOLs get their sets. Do you mostly use Amazon.uk.com? Do you use Ebay... How do you prepare to ''fight'' US competition with such discounted prices... I have a good idea for Jeff and Ed, when/if they look this thread. It would be neat, if we could get option for Brickfolio to be set in Europe, and our price points and retail numbers would be 25% higher than US. Would not skew graphs that badly. Because now it seems even with Discount of 20% I end up seeing a…

I never had this issue before even when adding insurance, Non-eBay transaction with payment (over $250) made using PayPal. Buyer is in Singapore. PayPal was used to create the USPS International Express shipping label. Only problem when printing the postal label was adding insurance (not an option within the GUI). I confirmed with both USPS and PayPal phone reps that insurance can be added at my local Post Office. Shipping cost $95 rounded. At the Post Office, the clerk claimed she wasn't able to add insurance since the "label # or some customs # " wasn't in the system (in hindsight, maybe I should have used USPS.com to print this label...). She also said this …

I thought I'd start this thread as a collection of examples of offering great customer service as an Ebay seller. Share a time when you were the seller or the buyer of an item when an ebay seller went above and beyond when they didn't have to.

I put this together a couple of days ago in Excel. Basically, it is a 3 in 1 fee calculator including the three major LEGO selling sites in the US: 1- eBay 2- Our own Brick Classifieds 3- Bricklink They are all in the same worksheet making it easier for comparison and for you to play around with different prices and so on. On the eBay one, you can select some options from the dropdown lists (store, Top rated and such), while the other 2 are much simpler since there are no tiers in their fee structure. Please note that this is to be used only on LEGO listings. This is especially important for eBay since different categories have different Final Value Fees and I wanted to m…

Tomorrow marks the grand opening weekend at Westfield San Francisco. I'm a bit reluctant on the huge crowds that will be there between the kids and the AFOLs to get the cool promos. But will try to get there as early as possible. Friday - The backpack - Kind of cool. Will probably give it to my son when he gets old enough. Saturday - The mini retail store - That will be the hot promo. Extremely rare and in a limited number. I hope I can get one. It has a huge amount of collectibility/coolness. Sunday - Mini figs - Not as high on my list, but if I'm in the area, I may check them out. 10 a.m. tomorrow morning starts an interesting weekend.

I don't see a thread on Exclusive sets and Polybags. I am rather new to Lego collecting. I think Exclusives, being sold in one store only...may be better to collect as they would be harder to find for some people. but, I do not really know what sets are exclusives, or which store has them. I'd like you knowledgeable people to list the set #s and stores available. Thanks for the help.

Buying or selling...just curious what other members have forked over or received. Cash is king. Any interesting or memorable stories? I'm a small time investor/flipper so selling 2 mint Crawler 41999 to a local buyer (kjijij) gave me $1000. By far my highest cash transaction. Without fees I thought it was good enough flip...but part of me did want to keep one in case the value climbs to +$1000 range and have something pretty exclusive brand new, mint and unopened. Oh well, it was fun having it for 2-3wks

Browsing their website I came across the LEGO section and while I think the prices are not the best, they have a great selection and all of the sets seem to be in stock. They also offer free shipping on orders over 99.00 I think. Just a site to keep in mind as a last resort when looking for soon to be or already EOLed sets. I know most of you hate paying retail or slightly above but sometimes emergencies happen, you will will not burst into flames if you have to pay retail once or twice lol!!! http://www.fao.com/category/index.jsp?categoryId=11813410&sr=1&origkw=LEGO

My Lego orders from LEGO Shop at Home Canada are delivered by FedEx and more often than not the shipping boxes are banged up on a corner or squished at one end, etc. Anyone else have this problem? It's so bad you almost have to just laugh about it! I don't have problems with any other shippers that I use from other stores, so not sure how to change it. It would be really nice if other shipping options/other shippers were available on LEGO Shop at Home. I'm reluctant to report or complain to Lego because I don't want to get anybody in trouble, but how else can it be changed?!

I know this has likely been covered before, but I couldn't find anything in the forums. i shipped a Jokers Funhouse (6857) via FedEx Smartpost. The item shows as delivered in tracking.. the buyer never received it. She went to the post office and they said they delivered it to the wrong house. The house is vacant and the package was gone. The post office told her to ask me if I had insurance, which I did not. what are my options from here?
