Eh

On Earth, yes.  The bombers just need to drop bombs from distance and let gravity / guidance system takes care of it ONE WAY.  On SW universe, however, bombs need to be dropped up close to any surface of the target, ie. they should be able to bomb the belly of a Star Destroyer from "under" it.  Thus SW bombers should be slim and able to manuever without its energy source drained by multiple turrets... :geek:

Bombers targeting Star Destroyers need to be able to run the gauntlet of ties buzzing around them from every direction, so you either have a fighter escort or you have a bomber which has enough fire power to defend itself, ergo this grey and blue monstrosity. I so wish they'd gone with a darker colour scheme, could have been a good set.

Y-Wings are fine with just 1 turret.  I do not see how this monstrosity is an improvement over it..
If anything else they should worry about the turrets on the surface of SD.  Bigger ship  = easier to target by those turrets. :geek:

I think they want to match the X-Wings with that color scheme??

Says the nation with the worlds largest aircraft carriers.

If you want to talk stratergy why do imperial/FO forces rarely deploy fighters to defend key assets furthermore look at R1 why should Krennic fly out there to the Kyber facilty  when they can shoot Gaylo Erso or bring him to the DS and why did Tarkin delay the investigation. (down to lazy writing and the fact the rebels must win everything)

Further stratergy problems why not shoot the escape pods in a New hope at least for the target practice as if looking for plans why not intercept them considering they could have been on there from the imperial view point.

The reality is if you start looking as deep as this debate is then Star Wars starts to look unplausible as a story.

I thought we were talking bombers ? Well, there is a major flaw in the strategy if our carrier ever gets too close to enemy's battleships that it has to manuver out of the way ;)

All I know is I used to play SW BAttlefront 2 and there is no way to get anywhere near SD with bulky ships.  The auto defense turrets would maul you down if you are too big flying too closely to an SD:D

Seems the official pictures are now available for the upcoming Sep release:

https://www.brothers-brick.com/2017/07/27/full-assortment-star-wars-last-jedi-lego-sets-revealed-news/

I saw these last night & am still undecided. The scout walker could be interesting if the play features are smooth (doubtful).  Im sure BB8 will look great next to 10225 r2,  but probably a pass.  The HA walker will/should keep AT AT prices at current or slight uptick, it just isn't the same or that appealing.

With all that said, as much as i dislike Kylo Ren's character, this new striker is growing on me.  cant go wrong with some badass black and trans red!

So I'm going to guess you LOVE this build.

That is the Empire's version after they .. uh.. confiscated it.  Yes, I would totally buy one :)

Do you have a link to that build?  Also, is there a good site that has a lot of MOCs like this I could browse through?

More and more shops are putting up images, some new, some old, all without watermarks

I don't think LEGO cares anymore.

Disney should have approved of the new toys for the movie being released at SDCC.  These always leak well ahead of their online podcast.

I don't think that would be a good idea either.

LEGO put the pictures up on their asset website for shops to take. Way too early. They haven't taken them down either I guess
