Got notification today that the tires I ordered on Monday have shipped.  I only ordered two.

Have you found any sources for the HF sets at retail still? I should have pulled the trigger on the 44027 sets for $15 during the $20/$100 eBay promo. I had 4 sets in my cart and meant to buy them but I guess I got sidetracked. By the time I went back to complete the purchase they were poofed....

Mine are still in warehouse since 30 september. And the rest of the order has already arrived...

Just waiting for my tires from the last restock to arrive...they should be here any day.

There was that small restock a couple weeks ago that went to OOS after a few hours, and stayed OOS for about a week.  Have we had an OOS period of time at all since then?

I guess people don't check bricklink where you can buy one for $250 US.

Anyone paying that kinda money doesn't even know what Bricklink is...

Got my tires today. Was surprised that it wasn't shipped through fedex and it went to my PO box (billing address) rather than the street address that I usually have to use.

After a what seemed like an eternity, I finally received my Bat-Pod last night.  I was very surprised because I was expecting Lego to send me the tracking information, but nothing ever came of it and FedEx just showed up at the door.

My first thoughts on this set are just spectacular.  I'm a huge Dark Knight fan.  I've seen the movies many times over, so I was naturally stoked when I heard about this contest. What a fantastic prize.  I'm shocked to see Lego do something like this as a contest.  It was a pretty straight forward build with nothing really too overly complicated.  It's also pretty solid.  I know I committed a huge sin in some investors eyes, but I don't care, It looks fantastic next to my tumbler and I will never get rid of this set.  And besides, it will still be worth a ton of money regardless of the fact that I broke the seals.

The box is pretty nifty with all the different angle views of the bat-pod on the box. One thing I find a tad odd are the instructions.  It's actually thicker paper than your normal run of the mill thin paper instructions, but I would've expected maybe something along the lines of an architecture type of binding and quality. (I really shouldn't complain honestly though since it was a free set, but I can't shake the feeling that all the effort put into this set they could've done something really special with the instructions.) One of the biggest things, is that there are like 3 or 4 mistakes in the instructions that had me scratching my head a couple of times trying to figure out what in the hell they were trying to get me to do.  But the actual pictures do help out, so you need to keep an eye out for those.

I think what I find intriguing is Lego never actually making this a regular production set to go along with the tumbler.  This thing would sell tons.  Who knows, maybe Lego one day will put it into production.

I like the up close picture of the knife cutting the seals, "don't do it!". I almost have my "fake" one finished just missing a couple pieces I should be getting today or tomorrow.
