Poor Jangbricks is looking to deal with the one problem we dread most with large displays; moving. :( In the first clip which is his totally custom town, every time he first said it all had to go I was thinking in terms of being sold instead of moved to the new house. Thankfully I mistook the phrase and realized that was not the case. Anywho, these will be the last time for a while to see his original custom village and final viewing of the 'stock only' city in the second clip. It's a bummer but the new place sounds a little bigger so perhaps with this opportunity we shall see new designs flourish.

Is anybody here building stuff like that himself?

I get the snod technique, but isn't it a little bit unstable? Are there any tricks to make it more stable (I'm asking before even building with that technique ;-) but it looks so unstable compared to other techniques (even though it's beautiful).

Also I imagine it to be rather difficult to change stuff once it's done (for example adding a studded piece because you wanna put something there which needs a fixing point).

One day I would like to attempt a steampunk sort of build ....but the problem usually is not having enough browns and copper pieces. I'm up to here in black and gray parts though. Haha.

I have found many MOCers build stuff just to look good. Try and play with the thing and kaput. I lean more towards functionality and aesthetics therefore I probably would alter a few bits on that build just so it could stand properly on its own without something extra acting as a kickstand. In any case I wish there were instructions on how to build such a vehicle just to learn something new and neat at the least then see what I could do (if possible) to make it better.

Outstanding thread. Another reminder.... the avenues for Lego are LIMITLESS. True art.

Orc.... love the Wallace & Gromit action.

My greatest hope for Lego: a "Nightmare Before Christmas" line to replace the Monster Fighters one.

Just imagine Jack's house as an UCS, the mini-figs, the motif's... the art. This set would be killer.

And this is just amazing. I've been struggling with trying to make the Ranger from interstellar myself for almost 2 months now. The shaping is a real pain, but this guy nailed it.

EDIT: sorry for the multi-edits forgot how to embed pictures

Amazing in all details like fitting four characters in there with everything. Funny thing too because I had been planning to post this version from a month ago.

Not being familiar with Interstellar, I actually thought that was a stylized Eagle-1 from Space: 1999.

I did find some examples of an Eagle 1 in LEGO here.
