From MechWarrior to Macross, Earthsiege to Armored Core, Heavy Gear to Gundam, etcetera, fans of mecha everywhere let yourself be heard here! I was just wondering if there are other people on the site that dig giant robots and stuff. I'm not necessarily asking about the series or movies these mecha appear in but focusing more on the designs themselves. For example, I actually like the Urban Mech from the MechWarrior series and think many of the original names for the mechs in MechWarrior were great (Summoner instead of Thor, Hellbringer over Loki, and so on). Also I am curious of anybody that enjoys playing the tabletop games such as Battletech or Heavy Gear. I wou…

Hi there, I have discovered these in a few of the Lego lots I have purchased. I realize they are not Lego but would someone please be able to ID this for me? My 7 year old son insists that they are cat toys, LOL! I think they are Megablok wheels. Please settle our disagreement. Thanks!

We have covered every other area with movies, TV series, music, etcetera, but not books. In spite of the internet as well as all other forms of digital media, the classic form of the written word still carries on to this day and thankfully so. From novels to comic books, what do you enjoy reading? :scenic:

Last year, many of us watched Sharknado 2 online together. Well, sorta, We actually posted comments during the movie and had a great time. As Jeff recently said, watching it is like "like Christmas in July". Are you ready for "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! (9 pm ET/PT)." It's on tomorrow (Weds) evening. The movie's premise is classic : A monstrous tornado unleashes ravenous sharks from Washington, D.C., all the way down to Orlando, Fla. The cast is promising! I only need to mention 1 name, David Hasselhoff https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sharknado_3:_Oh_Hell_No!#Cast

http://www.aol.com/article/2015/08/15/disney-announces-star-wars-theme-parks/21223213/ Disney announces 'Star Wars' theme parks "The Star Wars universe is ready to invade ours. Disney chairman Bob Iger announced the creation of two Star Wars theme parks. The 14-acre parks will feature humanoids, aliens and droids. He called it the company's "largest single themed land expansion ever." "Everything we create will be part of our storytelling," said Iger, who added every store in these parks would be operated by local inhabitants -; in other words, actors in character as aliens or droids. "Nothing in the land will be out of character or stray from the mythology." Iger said g…

I was wondering if anyone was into collecting sports cards. I am going through my old collection and unloading the stuff just to make room in my storage room. Anyways I have a hard time finding prices on some sealed boxes. Does anyone belong to a service or have any information. I have gone through ebay and even searched the web for prices and am stuck on this one box now. It is a 1997 sp authentic football box. I wish I had a fraction of the money i spent on cards from the mid 90's to mid 2000's . Just in seled boxes I am lucky to get 1/4 back. I did get lucky with 2000 sp authentics. I sold 4 of those for 350+ in last few months. Bu…

I like to buy from the pick a brick wall at the Lego store. I don't usually reuse the cups for the discount so I end up having way too many cups. I took up cup decorating.

I'm in the market for a new laptop or chromebook and looking for a bit of advice from my fellow brickpickers. Too much backstory: I grew up using Macs in the 90s because my dad was an elementary school teacher spearheading the use of computers in education in his district. I used an iBook in college that had so many problems, it was awful, but it was mine, then I got a real nice Macbook Pro with my first paycheck after college and it was quite good, only had it's logic board replaced once! All this time I was using Windows workstations for GIS and I became disillusioned with Apple as a megacorporation. My current laptop is a 2016 Razer Blade because I wanted a nice A…

It looks pretty cool. A couple of toy lines are missing like Super Powers (although a 1990s Batman is there). Very cool looking. Original article = http://www.cincinnatimagazine.com/citywiseblog/new-mural-to-honor-kenner-products-and-cincinnatis-toy-design-heritage/

This probably belongs in the "other things we invest in" thread but that has turned in the "investing in Frozen" thread... I want to know who is going to invest invest in the largest IPO to date this Friday? Anyone else betting the house on BABA? Why or Why not? I am putting as much cash as I can muster ASAP b/c I have no idea how you could go wrong with the largest retailer on the face of the planet and they are just starting to really grow. (They are barely international at the moment.)
