After the unfortunate recent events in Texas and Louisiana with Hurricane Harvey, I just want to let Brickpickers who live in Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina know that we are thinking about them. I know our thoughts mean very little in the grand scheme of things, but get the Hell out of danger. You can always replace a LEGO set or TV...You cannot replace yourself. I am praying for you. Be safe and let that witch go out to sea... Ed and Jeff.

Good morning/afternoon/evening/night, depending on where on this planet you find yourself. I am curious about what other models Brickpickers build and whether you would recommend certain types or manufacturers. I am on the verge of purchasing a wooden model ship to build and hope that maybe someone else here has a little experience with these. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts and feedback.

I typically don't give these their own topic but this stop-motion short is really friggin' good! Forgot to mention, probably should turn on closed captions/subtitles if they are not already.

James Bond Villain Richard Kiel Dies at 74 Richard Kiel, the 7-foot-2 actor who most famously played the villainous Jaws in two James Bond films starring Roger Moore, The Spy Who Loved Me and Moonraker, and also appeared in Adam Sandler comedy Happy Gilmore, died Wednesday afternoon in a hospital in Fresno, Calif., three days shy of his 75th birthday. TMZ first reported the news. The actor had broken his leg earlier in the week, but it is not clear if that event is tied to his death. Kiel had lent his voice to a James Bond videogame in 2003 but more recently had voiced Vlad for the animated film Tangled in 2010. Before his appearances in the Bond film in the mid to l…

From MechWarrior to Macross, Earthsiege to Armored Core, Heavy Gear to Gundam, etcetera, fans of mecha everywhere let yourself be heard here! I was just wondering if there are other people on the site that dig giant robots and stuff. I'm not necessarily asking about the series or movies these mecha appear in but focusing more on the designs themselves. For example, I actually like the Urban Mech from the MechWarrior series and think many of the original names for the mechs in MechWarrior were great (Summoner instead of Thor, Hellbringer over Loki, and so on). Also I am curious of anybody that enjoys playing the tabletop games such as Battletech or Heavy Gear. I wou…

I bought some comics from someone online and they said they sent the comics. Turns out they sent the comics to the wrong address which was most likely a lie. I filed a claim and it was denied. Stating it was delivered. The tracking shows delivered to an address in CA. I live in Michigan. Is there anything I can do?

There has been some interest in creating a fantasy football league for us brickpickers to have a little fun with. I've created a league on yahoo. Here are the details... 12 team head to head PPR. Snake draft. Points for yardage and td's. Starting lineups will consist of 1qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, 1 te, 1 flex(rb, wr, or te), 1 k, 1 d/st, and 6 bench players. Top six teams will make the playoffs. Prize money awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. $30 franchise fee. All money collected will be paid back to the league 100%. 1st place will get $220, 2nd place $90, and 3rd place $30. Total of $340. League financials will be posted and tracked on the league site so ever…

I'd offer to buy George Lucas's company from him. Nah just kidding, I don't know if I could deal with him calling me a white slaver. Just curious what some of the people's big dreams on this site were.
