Hello All, Nearly everyone loves the new 42009 crane. Largest Technic set to date. The possibilities are endless. I have recently MOD'd mine out to capture the brilliance of the Liebherr 1500 8.1. Now, there is a youtube video going around trying to lift the 8070 supercar with the crane. Failed pretty bad. Would a much larger crane do the trick? Check out my postings to find out! http://mocpages.com/moc.php/388884

Nick Trotta (tardisblue on flickr) has submitted this design for the November Vic Viper competition. Solar Sweeper 3V - tardisblue on flickr Good grief, just look at the detail, especially in the wings! The beautiful use of colors, all the advanced building techniques, I really can't think of this design ever being topped! This signature spacecraft of video game history in LEGO form looks fast just sitting there! There's also this amazing one by Uspez Morbo! BP-8272 STEALTH - Uspez Morbo on flickr Hmm....I'm having a problem here. I'm throwing my money at the screen, but nothing's happening....

Well, another Vic Viper month of building has gone by paying tribute to the late nnenn. As usual, there is a poster map showing a compilation of the many contributions. This year we have 174 Vic Vipers by 115 builders. >Nnovvember 2013 by pasukaru76, on Flickr You can visit the original Vic Vipers Flickr pool to see all the original images as well as some designs not featured.

Well gang, it's already that time of the year once again for Vic Viper mania. A little more than a week into the month and already we have a slew of grand designs. Who will be featured on the massive collage for the end? Who indeed. >Syris1 - perspectives by Sylon-tw, on Flickr >Soviet Hellion VTOL Vic Viper by Genghis Don, on Flickr >RM-als14 fighter by Legonardo Davidy, on Flickr >Intergalactic Girl's Vic Viper by SpirituInsanum, on Flickr >Outlaw Vic Viper by Genghis Don, on Flickr >Vic Punisher - Space by Brixnspace, on Flickr

Here is the long-awaited collage for this year's Nnovvember build event. The number of entries this time is noticeably smaller than the last (which was around a hundred or something) but still very impressive finishing at 77 Vic Vipers between 48 builders. You can check out the Flickr group to see more. I had thought of posting a handful each day similar to what I do with SHIPtember ....but then I realize just how many designs this one event can bring in. Ha. Nnovvember 2016

Last year's Nnovvember MOC month yielded a total of 91 different Vic Viper designs by 58 creators. Here is the collective collage courtesy of Pascal as is tradition. Be sure to check out the Flickr group if you are interested in seeing the many builds (present and prior) in closer detail. Nnovvember 2017

  8. I would love to just sit down and build something like I did when I was a kid, but I find myself suffering from blank page syndrome. Even if I go in with a goal in mind, like building a robot or whatever, I just can't get started. Along those lines, any suggestions on making a bin/box/whatever specifically for this sort of free building? I've got tons of Lego bricks, which I've tried to sort by color, but that compounds the difficulty of free building. I'm thinking it would be good to make a mixed box of parts that are explicitly unsorted.

Hey guys, So of course I've read a lot on this subject, but out of a bit of annoyance I decided to rethink it a bit. I've organized by color, and sometimes particular types. Similar to the system you usually see in pics/vids. Maybe this idea sounds like a "noob" system because it's not entirely accurate and there will be duplication. I've also come up with it largely because I don't have enough pieces, and don't want to keep opening my "investment" sets (I've opened $2000 in lego in 4 months). But I want to keep building. I also think this system might be easier and more conducive to sitting down and having fun rather than spending so much time searching for pieces. Latel…

Check it out on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HAzYLMoCi1Q Hope you like it.

My soon to be 6 year old really want the Pet Shop modular for his upcoming birthday. He is very good at building by himself and can follow instructions. He doesn't have any big or hard sets yet. Log cabin, and Hagrid's Hut is the extent of it right now. I'm wondering if the Pet Shop will be too difficult for him and cause frustration. I'm leaning towards a couple of medium sets instead like the fire or police station. There's obviously part of me that really want the Pet Shop so I can build it with him : ) Does anyone have personal experience with younger kids building the modulars by themselves? Thanks

So I thought I would start a thread where we could share what we got in our PAB cups, similar to the one on Eurobricks. Pics would be great, but if you just want to say what you got that would be cool as well. If you are new to PAB and want to see how to maximize space, check out my blog article here: http://community.brickpicker.com/blog/4/entry-242-pick-a-brick-cups-can-you-pack-an-investing-punch/ I thought I would kick it off with the two large cups I bought today. There's actually a bit of a story behind this. So normally the cups are $19.99 each in Canada for a large, but when I bought mine I was looking at the bill and I felt like it wasn't enough (in addition…

  20. I’ve been working on the new AT-AT and I’ve got an issue that I just can’t figure out. On step 111 it acts like I should just be able to push the belly down onto the frame but when I put the belly in place it just sits there. It’s so loose if I turned the frame over it would just fall right out. I can’t see anything in the manual or on the frame that should hold the belly in place. If you can help I would really appreciate it, this is driving me nuts

With today's newer sets this isn't really an issue as they come in nice numbered bags that you open a step at a time. But when you get a large used set or heaven forbid you open a vintage set ( ) how do you go about the build process? Do you pre-sort following some routine or do you dump it in a pile and find each piece type as needed? Which way is faster? Do you do it your way for speed, or perhaps a more enjoyable build experience?

  23. Started by Pseudoty,

I just finished building MS using the downloadable instructions from Lego on my ipad. It was very hard to for me to differentiate some of the elements, colors, and placement, especially the black roof slopes. I am going to do the CC next and would like to use printed instructions, but I am not paying $250 for them. I tried using the Staples Laser printing service for just the parts list and it still has poor clarity. Any tips on where to find a better file and/or how to print them in a higher resolution?

We put this together a few weeks ago and noticed it started to bow at the ends. My son decided he wanted to build it himself for a school project, and I took it apart and bent some of the pieces back so they'd lay flat. Now that he's about a 1/3 of the way into the build it's bowing again. Any tips to avoid this or is it just something that comes with these wide builds that don't have a solid base?
