Hi, I am selling some old Lego from the 70's. The sets are 182, 171, 656 and 912. There are about 10 small pieces missing from set 912. PM me if interested, regards Pat.

  4. Fellow Brickers, All legos at Target are now 20% off. Both online and in stores. Not sure when it will end BUT...... I hope this paves way from the pre Christmas / Christmas sales which should have more discounts. http://shop.target.com.au/toys/construction-toys

  7. Im interested to hear peoples opinions, the 20% off is actually way more, based on lego.com/au prices which are terrible. Examples: Grindelwald's Escape 75951 $22.40 from $40 Snoke's Throne Room $53.65, $100 on lego.com/au Harry Potter minifigure series $3.50 instead of $5.99 I found this price is actually lower than the cost of buying a box of 60 from bricklink assuming bricklink shipping cost is zero (which its not). So seems great to me. You can only buy max 10 of them. Ninjago Dragon Pit 70655 $108.16 from $200 Sandcrawler 75220 $125.00 from $200 You can also use the shopback rewards for 6% cashback. Im not saying all…

Hey Everyone in AUS Now that Bricks Down under is basically gone (since end of last year), I was just wondering if anyone else knows of any local forums to discuss local sales, bargains etc? As this is a global site I am not sure how many aussies visit this part of the forum, I only recently discovered it. Plus what do you use to sell used or MISB sets on? I use Ebay and gumtree, any others? Please let me know

  9. Started by BrickPick3r,

I'll keep everything in here so that there won't be too many stuff scattered around the forum 04/10/2013 DJ Architecture, VW van, Grand Emporium, Pet Shop, Fire Brigade, Sydney Opera House just arrived <<< I'm waiting for their next sales to get one of these set Toy-R-Us VW just arrived, but all gone. They said more stock will come in 1-2 week time. Big W They're clearing out the shelf of many city sets right now. The shelf was almost empty. Might see something new soon Target Batman Arkham Asylum & R2D2 were there. Probably about 6 each.

With all these sales on, don't forget to ensure you keep your rewards cards handy. I have been cashing in rewards points for Frequent Flyers, Fly Buys and MyerOne for more gift cards to use later. Stack those on top of the 20% off sales and you start picking up R2-D2 and Arkham sets for $150.

Has anyone in Aus bought of Barnes and Noble? What's their shipping like. Been very disappointed with ToysRUs US. Arrived damaged twice. Only consolation was got refund and managed to keep item and being able to sell on ebay as damaged.

  12. Started by Lego Avocado,

I am trying to get rid of most of my Lego. They are all full sets plus some assorted bricks. Make an offer and if right price, it's yours. Postage at buyers.

What do people in Australia use for packaging and shipping their lego sets? I checked about 5 online packaging stores (Staples, Signet etc.) and none seem to sell boxes suitable for Lego. Any help is much appreciated. :-)

  17. Started by Wardy079,

Hi I'm just hoping for some advice. I bought 9 Advent calendars from O/S from a supplier who has previously packaged really well. For some reason this time, the 9 boxes were sent seperately in packaging that was insufficient. I've made a claim through PayPal who have said a full refund will be forthcoming but of course I need to send them all back. I don't have an issue with this except it is going to cost me $100 which isn't part of the refund. So now I am wondering whether I send them back and write off my $100, or whether there is much market for pulling the advent calendars apart and selling off the items inside. I just don't know if there is a market for this …

  18. Started by ausleigh,

I got an e-mail about a 20% off online sale at DJ for what seemed to be clothing oriented. Had a look at the Lego, and for at least 10218 Pet Shop, the 20% discount was applied. I tried it on the Town Hall (10224), but no discount on that one. No idea about any of other sets, but if there are any ones you want and are harder to get, may be worth sticking them in the cart and seeing what happens.

  19. Pretty sure most of the Aussie members here would have already put in orders for this month's Crown Jewels of Lego LEGO Shop at Home - the Delorean and the 4x4 crawler, not sure how everyone's orders are tracking / processing / (dare I say) shipping etc, my experience so far has been....interesting. I'll start from the latest development. Just got an email today - "Your Lego order has been shipped!". Could it be? Could it really be that they've shipped 1 of my 2 orders, which are supposed to be on backorder? Heart pounding, hopes rising. Scrolling further down, I realized who was on his way - the brave little Galaxy Squad Orange Team member Jack Fireblade, and his t…

As with the last DJ posting, this really only is of value for some of the larger sets that are harder to find no sale down here. It does look to include Town Hall this time, as well as still available for Per Shop modulars. Only available Saturday and Sunday. Online and in store.

  21. Started by knokturnal,

dj is selling unimogs in store not online for $165 so 50% off good luck finding one though

  22. Started by ausleigh,

Was just online at DJs looking for something for the missus, an clicked over to Lego (not all about her! ) and see they appear to have 20% off sale. Probably nothing great, but not sure if the stores are also having it, and if maybe they'll have some gems available. Will be checking my local out this afternoon

  24. Started by Jules_K,

So I've had my first couple positive experiences on Gumtree as a seller. Without worrying about postage, ebay and paypal fees I'm able to sell at a much lower price on Gumtree and still make more money than if I was selling on Gumtree. It seems like a win/win for the purchaser and the seller. Case in point was 2 high speed passenger trains I got from Amazon UK for AU$132 shipped. I sold both of these on Gumtree within a week for $165, netting me $33 profit for each train. To get the same profit on Ebay, assuming shipping is $25 and the buyer uses Paypal, I would need to sell the item for $217 (with free shipping for the buyer). As the retail on this item is $230 I w…
