Star Wars Sets

Whether you love them or hate them, the Star Wars™ Sets are a huge success!

  1. I must say I am a little disappointed in this set as far as investing goes. Should I just sell it and put the money towards a better investment prospect? Does anyone think that this set will ever make me any money? I really just want to get rid of it, any insight???

I see that a few of the sets I currently own are listed as UCS sets by some, but I see no evidence supporting this assertion. 10188 and 10195 Anyone have any confirmation that these are actually UCS sets?

Why are all the midi scale sets not popular and not worth anything in the secondary market? I have never owned one so that is why I ask. Is it because they do not come with minifigs?

  5. Started by Mos_Eisley,

Is anyone going to this this week? I'm sure if you are you want any extra Fett exclusives you can get for yourself, but if not, I'd like to get one! I'd also like another item that isn't LEGO related so maybe you could pick it up for me? Please let me know if you can help, thanks!

This is nuts. Ebay lot of every Star wars Lego set From 1999 to the new summer 2012 releases. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Complete-collection-of-Lego-Star-Wars-every-single-set-from-1999-to-July-2012-/200805970072?pt=UK_Construction_Toys_Kits&hash=item2ec0f7f098 Thought you guys would find some interest in it. As you can tell I do a lot of lurking and never post but I just had to take the time to post this.

POTENTIAL PURCHASE: 4501 - Mos Eisley Cantina All - I found a local sale for a lot of 5 boxed SW sets...including 4501 - Mos Eisley Cantina. The pic shows the 5 boxed sets and they look fine. I emailed the seller asking if they are sealed or not. The asking price for everything is only $150! Am I going crazy here, or is $150 a steal for these even if the 4501 is opened? The other sets include: 8017, 6207, 8096, and 8086 (and a loose/complete 6836) I'm obviously hoping they're sealed, and I normally don't collect "used", but I might just do it at this price regardless. Thoughts?

  8. One of my local toy stores has it in stock and it has been on my mind lately. Been hesitant about it but now that I've seen that it's not on the Lego LEGO Shop at Home site and it's value on amazon/ebay is increasing I was wondering if it'd join 7676 - Republic Attack Gunship as a set with a decent CAGR.

I've been looking for the Tantive IV on Lego.com but it wasn't available. I only found it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001USFNZ8/ref=olp_product_details?ie=UTF8&me;=&seller;= Is the set discontinued? Maybe it's time to pick one up!

I went to New York city on a family trip and down there they have prices that are cheaper ( I live in Canada), and at the Rockefeller center they have a Lego store which was a pretty big win for me. So I walked down there and located the Death Star sitting on a shelf ,no price tag on it by the way, then picked up the box and walked over to the checkout. I paid for the set like any other normal person would then I walked out of the store. It was then that I realized something was wrong. I looked at the receipt and saw that the Death Star was priced at $439.99 + tax which came to about $480!!!!! I couldn't believe it I had just looked on the US Lego website a couple of days…

I see that LEGO has just posted several of the Star Wars summer 2012 sets on the UK LEGO Shop at Home. Any idea of when to expect them in the US and how much they will be? http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/Star-Wars-ByTheme From what I see, Jabba's Palace looks great, but the UK price of 119 pounds ($183) for 717 pieces seems very high to me. Do the wide range of set prices throughout the world have any impact on the set price after EOL? Edit: I fixed the link...I think. Ed.

Hi, I'm looking for a NIB/NISB Freeco Speeder (8085). The box doesn't have to be in good condition, but the ship should be unbuilt/still in the bags and include stickers. If you have an MISB, I obviously wouldn't shun that either. Let me know if you're interested and I will let you know what I have to offer.

Why isn't this set more popular. It seems like a ship that would be more popular. Maybe it's because no one ever saw it in action in the movies though I thought it was mentioned enough for people to be interested.

I am very torn here as I am going to New York next week for cheaper lego prices and im not sure what to buy. I have my mind set on two sets that I really want which is the Death Star 10188 and the new R2-D2 10225. If i do decide to go with the R2-D2 I'll buy the Sopwith Camel with it but if I buy the Death Star that will probably be it. So I'm asking for your guys opinions which would be the better buy the Death Star or R2-D2 with the Sopwith Camel. By the way I'm not going on which costs less.

There are a lot of people that say LEGO makes a mistake that they don't release their new sets before Christmas instead of after. I think it is intentional just to keep people buying Lego sets past the holiday season. The majority of the population will buy whatever Lego is on the shelves and not care. I think star wars is so popular that people will but them whether they are on sale or not just like the CMF's that are also released after the holiday push. Any thoughts?

If you like custom Star Wars sets, here's a cool one from Huey Toys, a custom Republic Dropship. I don't know if it has any resale value, but it was well done and goes well with the Republic Gunship(set 7676). I bought one and the shipping was first rate and the pieces were all new. Great custom Lego seller! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Custom-LEGO-Star-Wars-Clone-Dropship-Minifigure-NEW-/230733525764?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35b8ca3304
