Lego has just updated their "License Conflicts and Resolutions" page and it stipulates that any submitted project related to the Doctor Who property will be accepted for possible review in the future if and when it achieves the required supporter milestone. Of course this does not guarantee a single thing but given many of us now have a Back to the Future Delorean sitting on a shelf with a space beside it awaiting the upcoming Ghostbusters Ecto-1 car, the chance of also having a small Tardis does not appear to be that farfetched of a concept, does it? Obviously, TLG has a formula to assess ROI, and that is definitely the most important factor for them, but outside of that is there aspect that drives their decision one way or the other? Seems like sets withh IP face additional difficulty, there are still sets from 2015 that are “in review” (the office)

Lego just updated their Guidelines / House Rules / Terms of Service for the Lego Ideas: Lego Ideas Blog In short some of the greatest changes are: - Max. 3000 pieces per set - When a third party property is produced, they will not accept any more submissions of that property in future - Some other changes as it's easier to collaborate on projects etc. which can be read in the linkes blog article What do you think about the changes?

the latest lego ideas project to reach 10k votes has a very sad story to it. there is a good chance it will be picked regardless of the MOC designer's illness. it's a sound design that's not over complicated (elements, cost to market, etc...) and promotes better health (sun exposure in this case). https://ideas.lego.com/projects/155367 https://ideas.lego.com/projects/155367/updates

Vote this bad boy in: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/165581 Please! ? My fifth attempt on building the best modular building I could. This time, a corner building, with a huge diagonal façade, and two very easily differentiated buildings: one royal blue and aqua with 1x1 tiles sticked on the wall and the other white, royal blue and teal. You can probably see this, but this was done in the purpose of it being hyper-ultra-mega colorful. Crafted with 2994 bricks, and includes 5 minifigures. I'm pretty sure it would stand about 30-32cm tall (12-12'5 inches). Some more images: Close up of white/teal façade. Notice the nice tree, and sculpt…

Other than Minecraft I think this might be the fastest Ideas to 10k. It was posted Jan. 24 and hit 10,000 yesterday. Dungeon Master I like the idea but i think the rooms are a bit cluttered for actual "play." I can also see this being rejected because of being to close to Heroica or to "Adult". On the other hand if they can get the license to make it officially a D&D set (not likely) it could do very well.

I haven't seen much discussion of the new IDEAS Birds set (Jan, '15) yet...obvioulsy we don't have "hands-on" time, but I'd like to know what people think. I mean, it's smart of LEGO to try to corner the ornithologist/AFOL demographic (who wouldn't?!?), but curious to hear the community's thoughts for short and long term investment. Personally, I'll buy it because it's IDEAS and I enjoy that line...I'm less certain of hoarding it for investment though.

The Lighthouse My story For this modular (creator) building was that the The Lighthouse is based for a creation to fit in the Sea front Village. I built this one on Lego Digital Designer (LDD). I really believe that this model could have a lot of genuine interest for fans of my Sea front Village sets. This is the fifth building that I will be submitting. Summary A lighthouse is a tower, building, or other type of structure designed to emit light from a system of lamps and lenses, and to serve as a navigational aid for maritime pilots at sea or on inland waterways. Lighthouses mark dangerous coastlines, hazardous shoals, reefs, and safe entrie…

Really like this model and I hope it makes it into production. I'm envisioning a shelf full of "Motos" in the future. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/160838 This is the 1967 BMW R60/2. Known across the world for its ruggedness and reliability, the R60 could provide a steady ride to rider and passenger alike. Nowadays, this vintage bike is still as reliable as it was 50 years ago. This Lego model was made for a friend and fellow Lego enthusiast to commemorate his father, who would take him on rides in this very motorcycle through the countryside. It is constructed to m…

I can't be the only person that has submitted a project only to have Lego respond a week later saying they are not going to post it to Lego ideas because of the theme. I've also heard that at some point, the Dr. Who theme was blocked and then the ban was lifted and a flood of ideas came pouring in, a few days later they had a 10Ker and now its a set. So I'm also interested in knowing which bans have been lifted and where do you find out when this lifting happens. If we get a list going, it would be a nice reference to check before starting a new project that would be stopped instantly by the submission process. Current list of banned themes: Futurama…

This one is getting close to 10,000 supporters. I'm not sure if I'm a big fan, but it is a big part of the prequel trilogy. This is just one scene that could be depicted. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/115367
