  3. Some of you may know that I've undertaken a "30 day Lego challenge" where I'm trying to build a model or do a project to better understand the Lego system nearly every day for 30 days... In this project I did some experiments to better understand the relative proportions of the width of a brick to it's height, the width of a stud, the thickness of the wall of a brick and other relevant proportions. Overall, the system works well, but it is a bit weird. (ex: Why did they decide to make bricks taller than they are wide anyways!?) As such, I decided to "redesign" the Lego brick to eliminate some of the quirks of the system while making building techniques whi…

It's on Netflix and only about 20 minutes long. Has some interesting info about the origins of the company as well as a little tour of the factory. One item I found pretty interesting was this: If Lego Minifigures were real people, there would be enought to populate Asia. I roughly translate that to be about 3 Billion minifigures out there!

I saw this machine on Youtube and I thought it was pretty sweet. It takes awhile to make a simple Mindstorm program much less do this and build the whole machine. Amazing in so many ways and it even shoots the paper airplane at the end. Link. What do guys/gals think?

Courious to what members here that have large inventory or collections on display do when they list their house for sale and do open houses/showings. Or when there's 'strangers' in the house like repair guys or hosting a large party. Do you declutter a bit and pack most things away...put your most valuable pieces away? Or maybe you don't care. Not that I'm moving or selling my house anytime soon but just wonder if members had experience of some jerk or kids grabbing minifigs or a set while viewing. My only experience is having a SW moc in the basement last year...a landscape type with lots of minifigs and small sets, after an event...I noticed Mace Windu and Yod…

  17. What is a paypal eCheck and why are they used? Paypal eChecks are used when the buyer doesn't have a a credit card or alternate funding source attached to their PayPal account. An eCheck works like a normal paper check. When the buyer sends payment the funds are transferred from the buyers bank account into the sellers paypal account. Paypal says you should expect the echeck to clear in 3-4 working days. The funds are not available to the seller until cleared. A echeck is just like writing a paper check and has to wait til it clears. Now this is still a problem with first time sellers and even sellers who been selling for a number a years. The Problem is alot of Bu…

Just wondering if someone can help me out on this one... How do you figure out is something is an exclusive set to any store besides looking on all the sites to see which ones have them in stock? Examples of stores that sets might be exclusive to: LEGO Shop at Home, Walmart, TRU, Target. Thanks everyone!
