Hi All, I live in the UK and I recently joined the site having been an AFOL for a number of years. Building up my collection of Creator houses and now LOTR has got me into investing and I am now working on building up my Brickfolio. I stumbled upon this site after I made my first purchases and couldn't believe I had never heard of it before. The content is incredible keep up the good work. Cheers, chrisbakeruk

Hello from New Jersey! I am just getting started in investing in Legos and literally registered on this site yesterday. I've always been a lego nut and actually thought of the idea of investing in them a few weeks ago before even realizing all of these people already do it! While I'm learning the ropes, I'll start with a question. I have a brand new set 6901 (mobile lab) still in the box and even in the store's plastic wrap. It's never been opened, let alone assembled/played with. It's a space set from 1980. When I look up the value on this site, it says $456. Could that possibly be correct? It seems that I have nothing to compare it to since the eBay, etc. listin…

Hey there folks! Joined up in November and just finally got around to posting. I've been a collector for an eternity and never really thought about investing or anything of that sort, but when i recently moved and had to part with some of my bigger older sets (some still sealed) i realized the type of money to be made doing something i love Low and behold i found this gem of a site I'm fairly active in hunting out great LEGO deals as my area is overflowing with Targets/Walmarts/TRU, so hopefully i'll be able to bring some of those deals to light to my fellow Canadians I used to do a lot of buying old computer parts/computers and fixing them up to rese…

Just joined up and wanted to say hello, its doubtful I'll be a frequent poster as I'll be a dad next month, the experience has awoken my inner child though and I've started regressing by buying lots of Lego. My personal collection started with Lego Space back in the day and I'm really digging the Superheroes and Star Wars sets at the moment, part investment (the urge to break the box is palpable........) and part I just want to build and share the wonder of Lego with my new mini-me (although the small bits mean I'll have to wait a little while longer) anyways, nice to make your acquaintance. all the best littleyellowhead (surprised that username was available on her…

Hi all, My name is Sebastien, 35 yo. I live in Alsace, France. http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alsace Always loved Lego as a kid, had a lot of space and knight sets in the 80's (sold them on ebay 13 years ago), buying some as a young adult for fun and now looking for a way to combine fun and serious attempts as saving money. I'm also collecting plastic soldiers from the 50's/60's and 70's, so toys are not just a kind of invesment for me, but a real passion. I'm looking for advise here to know what to pick in the rich offer Lego has as invesment but I'd like to get sets I like, I wouldn't pick a set just only it could be a good investment, I would like it to ple…

Hi, I've been lurking around for a while and finally had a chance to introduce myself and ask a question. I've been buying some sets and putting them away to maybe flip some day. Sets like the Batman Arkham Breakout and Batcave. Mostly Superhero stuff but some Star Wars and LOTR. I do have a question about some sets I bought for my kids when they were young. We had a big tub that all the bricks ended up in and it was recently unearthed. I thought it was lost in a move we made about 6 years ago. This is an 18 gallon tub with what I remember to have some of the original Star Wars, Harry Potter and Spiderman sets. Besides selling them per lb on Ebay is there any way …

Hi Everyone, Been a lego fan all my life but was completely oblivious to this side of it. I remember being shocked seeing 10179 in the store years back and thinking,..THAT...IS... AWESOME!!! My second thought was that this is gonna be worth something some day. Slowly working up the nerve to buy and then my rational side kicked me in the nutz and said, "Dude! 500 bucks? its just plastic bricks." Never Again. Ship

I was shocked to find out that, after all these years, I still had my somewhat large collection of space lego from 1978-1982. My wife told me it was in our storage room, and lo and behold, she was right - I had no clue for 12 years! So I gave it to my son for Christmas, and we've been building the original sets, using online copies of the original instruction manuals. I'm actually looking to expand the collection, not as an investor, but for constructive play for my children. As such, I don't really care about condition or whether it comes in the original boxes, etc. I have noticed that the market values listed on this very organized site are about half of what they …

HI everyone! LEGO was a big part of my childhood and the infatuation never went away. Whenever money allows I still Like to purchase a new set every now and then. The best part is giving the box a little shake before you open it to hear the bricks inside! I was wondering, how would I go about selling a 1986 Shell Service station store display? I advertised it here in South Africa, but there was no interest. Thanks! All the best

Scott from Des Moines Iowa. I got into Lego in 2007 when i stumbled accross the cafe corner by accident and was addicted right away. I bought a a bunch of the early modular buildings to combine, such as 3 cc's to stack on top of each other and then got into building MOC's to add to my town. kind of got busy the last couple years and didn't have time to do much buying or building but then i found this website and the fireobsession is reignighted. I enjoy reading the forums and started buying again but this time more for investment purposes. anyway, hello and thanks to everyone for contributing to the community.

Hello all! I've doing this (without working at it) for years...just now decided to utilize the BrickPicker site to track values. Near as I can figure, everything is pretty accurate as far as values go. Keep in mind that eBay is not your only outlet for selling - although it may be easiest to track, which is the key here. I will be adding all my sets as I have time - feel free to check it out. I will NOT be cataloguing the 250,000 + loose pieces and unboxed sets I have, though. I'm sure you understand. Thanks for having me!

I recently got into LEGO investing/collecting after getting 16 sets for $10.99 during the Walmart website price mistake fiasco a few months back - including 4x LR trains and 4x LOTR pirate ships. Since then I've hit up most of the major sales and my collection has grown to ~135 sets. I've had a few first... First time opening a new credit card to buy LEGOS (Toys R Us - picked up 3x Unimogs for $150 each with the extra discount) First time buying something from someone who was probably using a stolen credit card (Haunted House for $150 off eBay, drop shipped from Walmart) And now, I've sold my first LEGO investment on eBay! (Saurmon minifig for $4.99 ) I…

Hello all, I've been a longtime lurker here on Brickpicker, pretty much from its inception. I came out of my dark ages around Christmas of 2010 when I bought a Hogwarts 4842 for a friend on Amazon and saw a link to some of the Modulars...they looked so cool and I just had to have one as a guilty pleasure! Unfortunately I had just missed out on Green Grocer's retirement by a few days (as well as the Carousel and Taj Mahal), and noticed that in the 2-3 weeks since they had been discontinued that they had already skyrocketed in price. I was pretty astonished at that, and that became the inspiration to invest/resell. My first "pick" was some Lego Star Destroyer …

Hi there. Finally making an introductory post. I've been registered since last December, and actively participating for the last two months or so. I've been getting into investing over the last 12 months. I'm mostly investing, to start off, as a means of covering any costs that I incur for sets I want to buy. I have a 6 year old daughter and a <2 year old son, so some of the sets I pick up, I buy to put one away from them, and sell off the rest. For the daughter, she's into the Friends line, and I'm putting away City Fire for my son. I'm also really into the Winter Village sets and the Monster Fighter sets. We had LEGOLAND California annual …

Just got started / interested in investing and selling Lego's online. Sell mostly on Amazon and some on Ebay. Have been selling online for 5+years and am pretty successful. Found Lego's to be a good seller around Christmas and thought I would build inventory through the year while going to garage & estate sales. Need to learn as much as I can in terms of what is trending.

Hi all. Have been on this site for a year now (Easy78) and am already hooked. just wanted to say thank you for all the advice and opinions and general chit-chat. i find this forum very entertaining and ive already become an avid fan. I was a life long transformers fan and collector before i began my Lego phase.Have collected transformers for a while and got fed up with the quality of figures and repetitive nature of the releases. Got to say that one of the main reasons i found Lego so appealing was the many themes and the overall way i could combine them, had tons of star wars and Lord of the rings items but my collection could never kinda of mix before. Daily I am ama…
