Hello brickpickers, my name is Phil (36) and i am living in the nortwest of germany. As a kid my parents baught me a lot of the LEGO space Theme. In the early 1980s i enjoyed playing and building with it. But as i grew up, outher things mattered more than playing with LEGO Last year my wife, who is working in a VW-car-workshop, said to me "i can get a LEGO VW bus (10220-1) for little money. After googling this object, i found this nice website. To cut a long story short, now we have a little LEGO investment started and now i am owning 10220-1 (VW Bus), 10252-1 (VW Beetle), 10236-1 (Ewok Village), 5002812-1 (Classic Spaceman Minifigure)…

I remembered playing with lego a lot till way into my adult life, not to mention the time i played with together with my daughter with her Lego Friends. As kid, ive lived in the tropical zone of Indonesie. The local area was quite a primiteve area with no shops or infrastructure. I remember my dutch grandparents to send lego with the dutch news papers by mail, once in a while. The papers were wrapped and included some small lego elements. And a few donald ducks, of course :-) I knew some other kid, a close friend, we played with lego together. I was envious, he owed a lot more. Once, i stole some of his stuff, naughty me. I felt quitly so a lot years after it, i ret…

Hey everyone. Long time collector and builder here. Just turned on to this place by a member of my LUG. I'm trying to be smarter about my buying habits and trying to find more sales, so someone told me to subscribe here. I don't plan on being big on buying for resale as I don't really have a head for that kind of thing. I just like building. Cheers!

Hello Brickers Im dutch, 39, living in the 'old' Zealand in the Netherlands. Ive started this hobby with buying 71017 (batman) and 75116 (starwars). That 71017 serie is a closed surprize package, so i assume the best is to open it anyway. Unless experts use medical scan equipment these days greetings Cornelis Zandbergen

Hey everyone, Cannot believe I just stumbled across this site and it's probably the best site I have come across in a long time. Amazing how many resources are here. My story with Lego is interesting, I had hundreds of them as a kid and then suddenly stopped collecting... My sets got all jumbled into large bins and I put them away. I even think one bin was donated (grrrr). Fast forward to me now (age 27) and I have been in the collection game for awhile (comics, art, prints, action figures, etc.... just not Legos) I love SDCC and love the thrill of getting exclusives, but for some reason I didn't ever go back to my Legos until the past couple of months. I have p…

Hi everyone. Just thought I'd introduce myself. It's been many years since I've had anything to do with Lego but recently my Mum moved house and she handed me a box filled with all my childhood Lego. Surprisingly most of them are complete with instructions. With my son turning 6 next month I thought this would be a great chance to introduce him and get him hooked! Couple of pics of my collection below, most of them are from the 80s and early 90s. These are the complete sets for the moment, I still have to sort through a box of individual pieces and figure out what else I can put back together.

Hi All from Australia, I joined here a few years back planning to dabble in Lego for collection/investment purposes, but never kicked it off. The kids and I had a large Nerf collection including quite a few NIB sets, and I started selling them off last week as no one was interested in them any more. To our surprise some have pulled good gains, even tripling their costs. The "minister for finance" has approved that 50% of this money can be reinvested into Lego, as we now have some storage space for them and won't be moving for the foreseeable future. I'd like to dip a toe in the water to the tune of about 1000AUD, and am considering the Star Wars M…

My brother used to deal in Legos for a living on Ebay, but he has passed. So I thought this would be the best forum to pose the question. I work in child welfare. We recently were donated several sets of pristine Legos. Some that I noticed were significant value. What would be the best way to find a collector for these items? I should also add these are for charity and that there are certain things we cannot go about selling them such as Ebay, etc.

Hello, I’m new here, although been dabbling in Lego for a couple of years. I'll probably be in the background as I get used to the etiquette and can post something useful. I’ve already read the Lego Acronym thread – crucial if I want to make sense of anything. Thank you for having me!

Registered yesterday, hello all! I'm 29 y/o and am new to the Lego-investing world. Willing to give it a small try. I mean, if I buy stuff that doesn't increase value, I guess my future kids will love playing with Lego like I used to do too!

Hi, My name is Sarah and I always had a love for lego. Recently my husband and I opened our movingboxes and there was our old lego. Turns out my husband loves Lego to and kept his sets, like I did. That was the start of our quest for things we wanted as a child (mine is paradisa, his is technic) and make room for these sets. Our childeren (age 7 and 5) now often look at us like UH?? ;-) But they got the same love for Lego like we do, only for the newer sets. We love to just watch them create something and then actually play with it.

Hi all, Just starting to get back into Lego at the ripe age of 30 (think you call that coming out of my dark age). Unfortunately my parents didn't keep any Lego sets I had as a kid (only one I remember was a pretty ace castle which had a Knight and a dragon).Ive started by buying couple of SW sets to get things rolling. Cheers

Hi all! I've been on brickset for a couple years, and lurked here just as long after coming out of a long Dark Age. After realizing that this is the place to track deals , I figure I should be a bit more active here. I don't dabble much in the resell game, I'm mostly interested getting LEGO as cheap as possible to build with my kids then MOC away.

Hey guys, my name is Dave and I am new here, and interested in investing in some lego sets for buy & hold potentials. >Things I understand about investing in Lego > Invest in Big Sets, with "limited edition" or Movie/character themed sets (Ex. Starwars) >The longer you hold, the more valuable (Usually) This being said I am looking at investing in a good movie/character themed set to sit and hold on. ($100-$300 budget apx. per set.) Does anyone have any good suggests in a Good set to invest in that suits my criteria? Nice to meet you all. Looking forward to getting to know yall. -David
