I was in TRU today and was told by one of the higher-ups in the store that TRU will announce this week that they will be closing several stores throughout the country. There will be large markdowns taking place Tue/Wed/Thu evening, and stores have already rec'd tags to markdown merchandise 30/50/70%, although the selection of merchandise marked down, and the % discount will ultimately vary by store, thus deals will be YMMV. With that being said, I don't know what is going to be marked down, as TRU clearance typically has a very poor selection, so it could turn out to be a bunch of crap put on sale. Has anyone been banned from Toys R Us Online? I can place orders, but about 4 hours after I place them I get an email saying "We regret to inform you that we were unable to complete your order". It's been going on for about a week or so.

I went into TRU today after dropping my son off at school to do a quick search for any hidden Crawlers and to just take a general look around. Upon entering the Lego aisle I found this... 20130820_113927 by roadrunner1633, on Flickr I about laughed out loud at the sight of this. A 1-2 year old set, minus any of the figures, and they are still trying to get close to the suggested retail price. I am not quite sure how they even ended up with an old return like this because I thought there were significant limitations on that but who knows. Either way it perked me up a little bit this morning and I thought I would share it with all of you!

Not sure if this is a nationwide deal, but Barrel Escape is currently 25% off until May 25th in my local TRUs. May be worth picking up at that price since it's an exclusive.

So my TRU is insane. Just stuck out the new Ninjago sets for later this year, 70727 and 70728. 70727 is not that great but the 70728, battle for Ninjago city is just stellar. Along with this the WHOLE Ultra Agents theme is out on the shelves in droves at retail. So my thoughts are, as most of these aren't slated to come out until August, I should be buying everyone I find right? Turboflipping? Speaking of that, the Ultra Agents sets look really impressive. Loving the mobile command center.

This is a nice little set for $10 if your Toys R us has them anymore. As a side note, Toys R Us still had the Halloween witches polybag for $6.00. I just got them at Target on clearance for $1.50. Can't say that Toys R Us does much for me usually.

So today I decided to venture over to to the TRU National Headquarters which is located in Wayne, NJ. My mom and I have friends who work there and I live less than 10 minutes away from it. I went in and asked to see a person who I know and I also asked about Legos. Turns out they keep a bunch of TRU exclusives and various other sets there and a lot of the employees are Lego fanatics. I walked out of there with a bunch of free polybags, and one of each new SW planet sets. Just received my 2 TRU orders from the last BOGO sale. Currently 1 Unimog short (but since there was so many individual packing boxes it could come next week) 1 Tumbler set instead of Batman Funhouse 1 Unimog I received was dented, torn and even shredded in one corner. 5 Batman Funhouses sets with various degrees of dents and creases 3 Battle for Geonosis sets (fairly ok) Deadset the worst packaging I have ever seen. The Unimog was laid diagonally in a box which was so dented on the top the tape was split 3 Funhouse sets were in a box large enough to fit 2 Unimogs (WTF???) What are the chances they will do anything about it?

two things. 1. I got the tru card today as they told me it was free. I am not referring to the credit card. Just the regular here ya go card that scans when you make a purchase. I searched the forums didn't see my answer. My question is what do I get? I'm assuming just random coupons as I am on a mailing list? 2. I have 90.00 in the gift cards they gave out today. Hey all, My apologies if this has been addressed a hundred times before - I'm a TRU noob. I am trying to find out if TLG exclusives (modulars, Arkham Asylums, Star Wars $200-$400 sets, etc.) are carried, typically, by some or most TRU Brick and Mortar stores (not online). I stopped by my local TRU yesterday and found nuthin'. Also, does TRU.com price match, or is that only available in the physical stores? Thanks! Remember, it's always okay to point and laugh at me if the information is staring right at me!
