Hi, Just seen Bricktrader launching/relaunching on 1st June as "the unofficial Lego auction site" and "the only Lego specific auction site on the internet". Is this going to cause problems / conflicts with Brick Classifieds launch or are they completely different / irrelevant to each other? Opinions? as I know nothing other than ebay so far (but I'm guessing Classifieds will be better/best). http://www.brickset.com/news/article/?ID=6606

According to the Brand Finance asset managers, LEGO is now the most powerful brand in the world (in terms of image and recognition, one would imagine) having overtaken Ferrari. What, if anything does this mean for investment potential?

Check out this eBay listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lego-Lot-Variety-/281244592605?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item417b7be9dd So I contacted the seller to clarify if the sets included in the pictures are included because they do not match what is in the pictures. Their response was the pictures do not match the list and then quoted be $1000 extra if the Haunted House was included. LOL! Check out some of the prices they put on the sets too!

I was wondering what general practices everyone used for shipping their items. I am curious if uline is the best place to get boxes or if people just generally reused boxes they get from places like Amazon. Uline's prices seem reasonable, but the quantities you have to buy are kind of steep. I guess if I end up going that route, I will just measure some of my boxes to find sizes that fit multiple sets. On the other hand, Amazon's boxes feel cheap and flimsy and I am not sure they would make it through 2 shipments without damaging the item inside. Just wondering what kind of luck others have had.

As this year comes to a close, we have much profit to be thankful for. 12 months of buying, selling, and dealing with the wonderful customers. Was there anything special for you that stood out this year? A great deal on an item to flip? Flip something for an out of this world profit? A special customer who really made your year? A special buy was finding someone's hidden stash of First Order Star Destroyers. A special sale was flipping 50 x 75119 Jyn Erso Buildables for a $450 profit I also had a very "special" buy on eBay that offered me a bag of used marital aids. Thankfully he didn't deliver. …

So I'm thinking about adding 14 day returns to my ebay items in order to become a top rated seller. It's the only thing left for me to meet the criteria. I have a few concerns about this so was looking for some advice. Firstly, is it worth it? I know you get 10% off your final value fee, but but how does this stack up against the extra work? Do people take advantage of this, has any one had bad experience with this? I suppose I'm just worried about sending out a valuable set mint, and it being returned damaged in some way, or people renting used sets then retuning them. Any always advice appreciated, thanks.

I know why they call it YOYO.com now because apparently they have a bunch of yoyos packaging the Lego sets for shipping. I bought a vampyre castle and a helms deep from them over the past week and both arrive separately and slightly crushed. They are sending me replacements, but I can't imagine they are going to hold up any better. Anyway...that's all.

I'd like to publicly give paypal a double thumbs up. I was ready to accept a $120 rookie mistake when I sold to someone in the Russian Federation who had only had their account for a couple days. Shipped off a Spongebob set via First Class international. Received a chargeback notice after shipping, saying the purchase was unauthorized. Now I know (but then I didn't) that paypal seller protection covers you in the event that you ship via a traceable service (USPS priority express). I'm pretty sure that these people go searching for sellers that list first class international as an option as I had ANOTHER sale two days later from a different person in the Russian Feder…

Hi guys, I wanted to ask for your opinion on a claim one of my eBay buyers is making. I am a newer seller so I don't have a lot of experience with problematic sales. I got a message from them this morning asking when the item would arrive. I replied with a link to the tracking, showing it had been delivered on Saturday. They then replied with this message: I just received the package today in the mail along with a letter from the post office, seems the lego got damaged during shipping. The package is empty and I believe they sent the damaged item back to you so you should be receiving it sometime this week. I don't know what that means for me. Do I get a refund sinc…

So in 2011 I started hoarding Lego... not bulk sets, but I had an obsession with buying one of each. This year I realized how much I had been spending and had to cut it off and start cleaning it out. I had no idea how much the stuff was going to rise in value and I started with the most valuable sets and cleared out my 50 per month on eBay without having to pay any listing fees. I got tired of being that chick who had two full rooms in her house loaded with bags of Lego sets. I've never hoarded anything else, but for some reason I started buying Lego sets. I was able to go cold turkey thankfully starting January 1, 2017, and just want to clear them out. So now I sit …

So I was wondering how everyone is taking care of this - Its one of the few things I haven't really developed a "system" for. Do most of you just calculate your taxes at the end of the year and just pay it? Do you take a certain amount out of each of your sales to stow away? I was thinking about just withdrawing 30% each time I withdraw from Paypal to a Savings account so I make sure I have money on hand. I was curious if others do it this way - or do you do more? Less? Obviously its tough to know exactly what you will pay unless you are putting it straight into a tax calc - which maybe thats what people do?

Just wanted to you know that the unimog that I originally thought might be from a scamming illegal drop shipper arrived yesterday. It indeed was NOT a drop shipped item, the seller however fabricated his shipping box out of a few much smaller boxes and taped up the seams as best he could, but a few were wide open when the item arrived. I want to be clear here, this is not one of those shipping nightmares where the lego box has been punctured or crushed, however, due to some of the edges being exposed, it did arrived pretty frayed and was not something I would have bought in a store. The seller in this case has over 1000 feedback and 100% positive, so he must do somet…

I see tons of postings on here of people driving around to Walmarts, Targets, Kmarts, Fry's, etc etc to save 10% or 20% off advertised price which is sometimes inflated. Why do people do this? You can easily get better deals online from the comforts of your home and you can buy massive quantities versus the limited supply on the shelves at the stores. Am I missing something? Also, any serious reseller with a fair amount of cash, why not just reachout to the fulfillment centers at Amazon and negotiate a better price if you buy 100x a month, or whatever it may be. I did this out of Avondale, AZ on the 60051, I purchased 100 on June 11th, it took several phone calls from Ken…

Hey, if you got a package weighing over 13 oz, say 2lbs. Is the best way to ship priority mail? I was checking to see how much it would cost through paypal, and I think my item which is a game would have to fit in the medium box. At 2lbs, I am looking at $11 to ship. That is crazy. Is it better just to take the package into the post office and get an estimate?

Well the time has come to sell my grand collection of classic space sets and some castle. Sets range from 1979-1992. Close to all sets have the boxes and instructions and are complete. Lightly played during that time and has been boxed up for 20+ years. These sets meant the world to me and as any brick collector knows, very difficult to part with, especially my Blacktron sets I have been putting them on this sites estimator, and have been impressed with values these sets have established for themselves. I am going through all the sets to verify that all their parts are there, so far all complete. So far i have come across duplicate sets with out boxes, …

I've had some good luck with kmart.com, and wondered if regular Kmart brick&mortar stores would be a good thing to add to my buying rounds. Do they have a specific day of the week for markdowns or clearance? Anyone have good luck there? Thanks for any help, as always.

So my story begins upon leaving the movie theatre after viewing The Desolation of Smaug. With nothing scheduled for the afternoon, I decided to take a quick peek in the nearby Wal-Mart to see if there was anything of note within their clearance section. This particular Wal-Mart is one of the older, less desirable ones, small and disorganized that I had frequented only once before. If I had any expectations, they would have been extremely low. So into the store I go, heading straight for the clearance banner hanging by the garden section of the store. As I walk down the aisle, my heart skips a beat when I gazed upon a new, undamaged 4840, The Burrow. I couldn

Good afternoon fellow Pickers. I come to seek ye ol advice. I have a decent amount of used sets that I need to sell. My wife has already begun the "every time I come in the bonus room there are more legos" bit. Plus I need to make room for a baby in August. So my question is... How do you ship used sets? Do you literally leave some assembled? If any one could attach pictures of how you do it, that would be phenomenal. I may post on CL and FB groups, but I don't figure to get what I want out of them. But it would at least be local. I will ultimately try to sell on eBay once I figure out how to ship so I don't lose money on shipping. Thanks in advance ever…

I have found an actual government agency that investigates all internet crimes, it is an internet crime complaint center that combines resources of the FBI and National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), from what I can tell, they actually pursue internet crime activity unlike your typical police department. For those who have had items illegally drop shipped from internet orders or been scammed in any other way, they are there to help. www.ic3.gov

I've been listing Lego again on Ebay trying to sell out my collection for financial reasons. I was contacted by a person wanting to buy everything I had listed so far (about 20 sets) and everything else I have (about 80 more sets). He said we could do the transaction through a paypal invoice. He has been a member of Ebay since 2013 with 100% feedback. In his message his emailis different from user name. It ends with Uptown trades out of Brooklyn New York. Would you do this deal? I would have to ship everything.

Anyone else finding their local TRU has been ravaged over Xmas, and there's very little good stuff to spend the £20 gift cards we were given before Xmas on? My local store has probably less than 25% of the sets on the shelves it would usually have at any time of year, and there's a lot of City, Chima, Ninjago, and Scooby Doo sets nobody wants (i.e. not the good ones). Vouchers expire on 16th of Jan, I think. Torn between buying the best of what they have now (not even sure what that would be!), and holding on for a week or so. Don't want to find that after that week, there's even less stock left! Anyone any idea on what the TRU restock pattern m…

USPS prices increased today so I thought it may be useful for members to share how they are handling it with regard to selling on ebay. The biggest one for those parting out sets or selling from bulk lots will be first class package increasing from $1.69 to $1.93. I offered free shipping until I got my feedback to a respectable level, then moved to charging for shipping. Will you continue to offer free shipping? Or will you move to charging buyers for shipping charges? Please don't turn this thread into another USPS bashfest, it's not very useful and I think we have enough of them.
