General Buying & Selling

Overall discussion on the buying and selling of LEGO

  1. Started by skinsfan0521,

There are a few LEGO stores within a few hour radius of me (one just opened yesterday) and I've never visited any of them. Is there any reason to visit one of these for special deals or promotions or anything? Basically, am I missing out on anything other than "the experience" by not going to these stores? Or am I better off just continuing to order everything online? Sent from my Pixel 3 using Brickpicker Forum mobile app

  2. Found a new DK LEGO Ultimate Halloween Book at Sam's Club in the USA for $14.98. Contains the Exclusive Zombie Skateboarder that was included with another DK Book several years ago. Has some nice photos of vignettes and building ideas towards the back of book...

Hi BPs, I have a collection of MISB legos that I've collected over the period of around 10 years. Everything is in great shape, sans maybe a few boxes that have dents or dings. I was very selective and usually had a dented box shipped back to LSAH and returned for a good one. Ideally, I'd like to have msrp (I already paid 6% sales tax, which I would'nt be charging for. I realize thats not easy, because someone with a large wallet will need to put up $, and thats why I'm willing to let it go for msrp, currently. I realize there are some good sets and some sets that may take a bit longer to sell, but overall, I think there is decent money to be made. I'd be…

Found Bulk minifigure Lot for sale on Craigslist -$300 for the lot.. posting attached its a time consuming task to reassemble and try to sell....I’m sure it’s worth it but, is it?

  6. So I know there are other threads floating around about this, but I was curious to get a current pulse check. My gf recently has been showing me the power of Microsoft Access and has built an internal database for her lab. The thing is incredibly powerful and I immediately wondered how well it would work with my lego inventory / collection. Cons of Access for me are 1) having to purchase Office Business and 2) not having a PC so either a) running windows on my mac or b) finding a cheap PC to start this on. My hesitancy is, that is a lot of financial and time investment though on a gamble with access. I currently use Excel to track a lot. I have personal co…

  7. So tonight I did something I told myself I would never do...buying a bulk listing off Craigslist. 2-3 times a week I'll scroll through CL, offerup, letgo, etc to see if there is any deals or anything worth while. I've bought a few sets off offerup/Letgo with overall success from my reason used Tumbler for 160 or the UCS AT-ST for 120. I've always looked over the "bulk/lot/Lego by the pound" post for the thought of going through all the sets gave me shivers down my spine. Despite that feeling I came across a deal I didn't want to pass up. I bought roughly 130 sets for 700 dollars tonight. Sets from all different themes (mainly city and SW) from Detective office to Kwik E…

We are having a garage sale this weekend and I thought of putting some sets out. I know people go to these looking for deals. Is it worth the time since the sets I want to sale would be $50-100 each. Just curious if anyone has had good luck selling unopened sets at a garage sale.

Hi there, i've been checking like sets in the days of avengers tower, first wave of jurassic world etc, in those days, and damn, those set have high resale value now. They is less seller on bricklink or other platform, less people who invest and it's profitable. Better then it was, still some turd of course, but in general, a 2 years old is really great. 2015 sets have done better than older one, (post 2012 maybe).,...

Interesting to see them doing this. Wonder who they’ll let into the program. https://www.cnet.com/google-amp/news/ebay-will-launch-its-own-delivery-service-in-2020/?__twitter_impression=true

I don't know how I missed this, but the new Dimentional Weight pricing is going to hurt when selling any of the larger sets. Just wanted to point out the change so you guys are prepared. 13. I would like to sell my box of Legoland 6374 . The box has never been opened and the outer covering is still sealed. This Lego is even blistered (see photos) It is an unique collectorsitem. Is anyone interested in buying this set and how much would you pay for it? Keep in mind that it is a collectorsitem and there are only 2 to be found on the internet in this condition! Kind regards!

  14. Hi, I purchased a 10179 MF last week from seller JackMcDonald in the UK and transferred the money via bank. He has plenty of good reviews, so it did not seem risky at the time. Since transferring the money he does not respond anymore. I gave him a negative rating to warn other people for him. In return, he gave me a bad review, which really hurts my three years of positive reviews here. The guy is still getting positive reviews from a couple of accounts repeatedly, which makes me think he might have hacked a couple of accounts in order to build a positive review legacy. I tried Bricklink to do something about this, but they only cancelled the order. Since I …

Hi everyone I'm new to all this so would appreciate some assistance please. I am am getting into Lego through buying bulk and separating out any sets based on instructions included in the sale. I am no doubt going to have some left over to create an inventory with. My question is how can I identify if I have any sets, or at least partial sets, from the bricks in my inventory? Along the same lines I've seen what seems to be quite a cheap bulk lot based on the per kilo price but there are no instructions included. Part of the description says there are Harry Potter, Indiana jones and a few other themes in there but how can I find out what sets there…

Hi all, I couldn't find a thread along these lines, so thought it would be worth starting a discussion. Have many of you run pop-up shops before? I've run a number at local LEGO shows/toy shows, and figured there may be a lot we can learn from each others experiences. I've gradually grown my main popup over 5 years, now running a ~8m frontage and two registers. We typically have 3 staff to run the space, and use Vend as our POS as it's fairly easy to upload by excel stock files and manage payments etc. I actually didn't manage to get any photos of my last big show, but here's some from a small show we did earlier last year and the year before. I've see…

Im not big fan of star wars series but maybe it would be okay too. Thank you for every suggestion.

  19. We operate a small souvenir gift shop in a beach town in Michigan. The town is packed from Memorial Day thru Labor Day and the town only has a junky toy shop (with no LEGO). I've thought about adding a few display cases with individual minifigures, packs of Collectible Series minifigures, smaller sets (polybags) and the like to satisfy those parents looking to keep their kids happy. I wouldn't have room for large sealed sets, and I'm not sure the market would be there for those. Anyone have any experience or war stories to share from brick & mortar retail? Or even convention sales? I'm trying to figure out what items would be most in demand, etc. Thanks!

  20. I'm curious to see everyone's perspective on long term potential of Lego Dimensions Starter Sets All formats, as well story, level, and team packs. Anyone buying and keeping for long term or selling now. I picked up a big lot of them a while back and making money on them just wondering if I should keep raising the price or leave them at current levels since it looks like i'm the only one left with any stock now. I'm considering some of it bulk as well. Since I want to free up some cash flow too.

My mother had a Lego Model Team 5540 sitting in a closet for YEARS. She gave it to my son today as a birthday gift. It is brand new in the box, one side-seal is broken and there are some minor scrapes/rips on the box but, not on any of the pictures. This isn't the light blue box but, the dark blue one with the flap that opens to reveal the inner plastic tray. I'm trying to figure out what the value of this thing would be. Based on the "Average" value, I see around $50, however, I've also seen numbers between $100-200 and there are some people selling them on ebay for $400-695 (which is nuts). My son only cares about the value on this because he is saving up …

Hey everyone, Decided to take a shot at BrickStock and unfortunately I hit a roadblock instantly. A lot of Youtube videos tell me to go into preferences and connect my BrickLink store via the network tab. I have done this, but received no "confirmation or denial" that is connected. I assume it hasn't though because I go to Import and try to import my store inventory and the option simply isn't there for me. Was this the difference between free and paid version? Or am I missing something simple. Maybe it cannot connect to your current BL store anymore due to lack of support? Any help is appreciated!
