General Buying & Selling

Overall discussion on the buying and selling of LEGO

  1. Started by S4J,

So I have a ton of mini figs sorted by theme and I was wondering if someone could share some insight as to what they have found is the best way to sell minifigs? I have been selling smaller organized by theme lots on E-Bay but i'm not sure that is the most productive way to sell them. I thought about a BrickLink store but I was wondering how much luck you guys have had selling them individually through B-Link. Any insight would be much appreciated as I have a ton of figs and trying to maximize both my time and return. Also if someon is looking for specific figs feel free to reach out to me as I may have what you are looking for and I'm happy to help out.

  2. I have seen some of the trans clear Vaders, Troopers, and C3PO in the past and am looking to collect some of those items. Who else has collected these items and has some advice on how to order them, or where to order them from? Should I order them as whole, or just the unique molded pieces? (Meaning, the torsos and legs may independently be cheaper than a whole Trans Clear Vader.) Thoughts?

  3. I have an 8 year old girl who loves Lego's. Due to the cost of Lego's of it, she usually builds whatever I can get on clearance. Most times the sets aren't really what a little girl likes. I am curious what sets I could buy that once opened I could recover 75% or more of the cost within six months to a year. For example today I bought the friends riding camp for $93 at TRU. Anyone have any advice for a dad looking to provide his daughter with something better than galaxy squad stuff? I clearly don't expect anything to be a sure thing.

I sold a set today for over $100 to a buyer that has feedback from the past, but nothing in the past year and a half. I have sent a follow up email and tried calling. Would you guys wait to hear back at a minimum before shipping or would you send anyway as I have to mail within 1 day? I don't see any issues as it appears the account has been active for a decade but don't think I am able to confirm their address has never been changed? Perhaps I should call Ebay customer support to confirm this. Thanks

Hi, I'm new to the Lego scene and my sons love them. Where can I get the best deals on Lego sets and large amounts of bricks? Thanks

Hi I just received the new lego 42042 technic crawler from Amazon UK today (not market place), and the box came with no packaging. Ie it was just a lego box with the address label and various other bar codes stuck to the lego box. Obviously the box is damaged, with scrapes and damaged corners - bit of a mess really. Has anyone else had a problem with Amazon not using any delivery packaging for Lego, clearly this is a no-go - at least it is just for myself, not a gift or for investment. I have complained of course, and am waiting for an answer.

  8. I just sold a 4x4 Ltd Edition Crawler on ebay to a buyer in the Netherlands who has no feedback, and has already sent me a message saying he will pay in 2 days once his paypal account is set up. Apart from obtaining insurance on the shipping, is there anything I should be doing or worried about?

I have 3 old lego brand cars (vw bug, mercedes coupe and a for something) that are small metal cars with clear garages that the door open on. I also have a bunch of lego gears (red large, blue medium and white small) and lot of green plastic moulded trees that i was told are from lego as well (although there are no markings on them). Are these worth anything?

Does anyone know where to find the ASIN number for individual LEGO minifigs?

  11. Started by stackables,

I left a small padded envelope for my mailman to pickup this past Wednesday. I just checked the tracking number and it only shows "shipping label created". Doesn't show any progress or that it was even picked up. Should I just assume that it just was never scanned? Maybe usps is too busy this time of year?

so, I've been selling on Amazon for around 15 months now, basically since eBay has been on a major decline. I've always been interested in selling on Amazon via FBA, but including another party in my picking/packing was always a worry on my mind, anyway, I decided what the hell I'll take the plunge, worse case scenario is it's a total disaster and ends up being a tax write off anyway. So looking at my inventory I had 27 Grand Emporiums, so I figured I bought in at around £110 each current selling price on Amazon was around £320 so after all said and done I'd be making a tidy profit on each one. I research Amazon FBA and it turns out if the item is selling at £300…

  15. I just bought this set for $13 at my local K-mart (the one me and BlackJack are ranting on about). It retails for $35, so for me it was an impulse buy. They have three left, should I pick up another one? With two more movies coming, and Christmas slowly closing in, I think that anything Hobbit related will do awesomely!!

  16. There is definitely some interesting reading regarding income tax reporting, but I don't see much discussion about sales tax. I am gearing up to begin selling off 30+ years of collectibles aside from my LEGO stash that is constantly in flux (ever growing). I've been a casual seller on eBay for over 15 years now, but only just recently have I begun to get all of the paperwork in place to become a licensed and registered business (Sole Proprietor). The collectibles were not purchased for profit, but they are still MISB or MOC, so those I'm not too worried about and will most likely start with liquidating those. Combined with LEGO sales, most of which were purcha…

I sold two Simpsons Houses in the same order to one buyer, and when I go to print shipping label, it shows twice the weight, but only the dimensions for one box... Will eBay print two separate shipping labels, or do they assume I'll ship both together? Is there a way I can select to do it one way or the other? If so, what do you guys recommend? Thanks in advance for your help.

I've been thinking about this as I have a 6, 4 and 2 year old. After seeing kingfishe2's post on Customer Mapping (which was a great idea, btw), I thought I would start a topic on how you involve your kids. Good tasks for young kids - sorting by color (my 4-year old is crazy good at this and likes it), using the visual dictionaries to put mini figures together correctly (my 6-year old has mini figures memorized like an encyclopedia), sorting built pieces by manuals (my 6-year old can take manuals and place them out and find partially built pieces to match the set), building to completion (my 6-year old is extremely accurate, so I will often watch him as I build …

  19. Hi, a stupid question. Do I have to pay any duty fee for LEGO I bought in BL that the package is shipped from Singapore? the total value of the LEGO is around USD$900. If I do need to pay, where can I find out how much? Or what is the maximum value that is duty free? THanks

A guy on Eurobricks just posted that he is willing to sell a used cafe corner and is willing to negotiate the price. He has taken the model apart and put it in baggies and has sealed the box with the instructions and no missing pieces. He will ship to the U.S. and Canada, so if you're looking to get a good deal on a used set that goes for over $600 when used here's your chance. The link- http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=72781&pid=1366958&st=0e;ntry1366958; The only question I have with this though is will the value continue to rise or is this the peak since the set has lost value the last 2 months with last month being a 2.5% drop

  21. I recently bought a lot that included almost all of the parts for a set still sealed in the original bags. I would like to find a source for the other bags of parts so that I can package them together as a "new" set, but am not sure how to find someone selling in this manner. I am sure that people part the set out for sale on BrickLink, but I am not sure how to interrupt them in the process of parting out the set in order to get the full bags. Anyone have thoughts on methods to do this?

  22. Good morning, 1st time on this forum. I have a lot of my sons Lego (37 sets) unassembled, but all pieces included of various Ninjago, Lego Movie and City from 2012 - 2015. What is the best way for me to sell this? Thanks, Jon

So they are having a toy/comic/cosplay convention here in Jacksonville later this month. I am going to have a vendor table and will be selling my current Lego stuff and my G.I. Joe's and Transformers from when I was a kid. I wanted to see if anyone else has done this and if they have any advices or recommendations. Also, it's the week of August 20th, should I get a Disney castle and ask like $500-$600, since it won't be available yet? Then if it doesn't sell, keep it for the inevitable Christmas shortage.

Im looking to sell some sets and manuals on the german (dutch, french) ebay. So it would be very helpful to get the names of the sets translated. I tried google, but cant find a site like brickpicker or bricksets in german. You can find some of the names on the lego site but its slow and only works with new sets.
