Scooby Doo

Discussion for collecting and investing with Scooby Doo themed sets.

  1. Since something bizarre happened to the original topic dedicated for the new theme, I am merely making this as a temporary replacement for further discussion until or if the original thread can be restored. Moving along the last bit of news was we have an image for the Mystery Machine and Mystery Mansion sets which I shall attach below. Release date is around August this year.

Scooby Doo is among my favorite characters that's why I'm looking for its newest sets, if there are. I hope Scooby Doo will have another film and a new set this year or in the coming year. The classic fun and comedy of Scooby with the blend of mystery are the things that made their fans hooked.

Not a lot info yet, but coming out sometime in 2016 is 30601 Scooby-Doo. Edit to add: Looks like it will come with the new LEGO Scooby-Doo movie, LEGO Scooby-Doo Haunted Hollywood

If anyone wants the hard to find LEGO Scooby Doo Micro Mystery Machine only available at the LEGO Scooby Doo Mystery Tour, here is the link. Looks like its only hitting about 9 malls across the US. Original LEGO instructions for the mini build and pieces included. Must not be many of these available since this is the only listing on the eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/121771032423?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

There is a new Scooby Doo movie coming out in September of 2018. I wonder how that will affect the current sets?

Finally to round up this first wave of sets, here at the price of $89.99 includes 860 pieces and a whopping seven minifigures between exclusive Velma followed by Daphne, Shaggy, Scooby, and three crooked criminals to catch with the Black Knight aka Mr. Wickles from the very first memorable episode that started it all "What a Night for a Knight", the Ghost aka Bluestone the Great from the first season's third episode "Hassle in the Castle", and then the Vampire aka "Big Bob" Oakley from season one's eleventh episode "A Gaggle of Galloping Ghosts". The mansion itself is a mix of different locales one of which could be the haunted mansion in the opening credits for the origi…

Retailing for $49.99 is a set comprised of 437 pieces and five minifigures including Scooby, Shaggy (exclusive seaweed torso print), fashionable Daphne, and the two criminals of the Lighthouse Keeper aka Verona Dempsey from the third episode in the third season of What's New, Scooby Doo? titled "Fright House of a Lighthouse" and the Swamp Monster aka Mr. Brown (as per the official LEGO site). This is the first set to have two separate cases come together in one setup. It does work well and I'm sure kids will have fun making up their own stories. To note there was an older episode involving a lighthouse keeper character in the Scooby-Doo/Richie Rich Show on the very first…

For a few parts and dollars more than the Mummy Museum Mystery, at $19.99 you get 128 pieces and three minifigures of Shaggy & Scooby (with exclusive aviator gear) plus the legendary headless horseman aka Elwood Crane from the fifth episode "The Headless Horseman of Halloween" in the Scooby-Doo/DynoMutt Hour mini-series. Interesting to note there was a similar aircraft in the cartoon (in fact it was Elwood Crane's) only here LEGO turned it into basically a flying version of the Mystery Machine with the color scheme chosen. Considering the colors on the original plane didn't quite pop and now there is a play element of a chase scene such changes make sense. SET RE…

The smallest in this wave priced at $14.99 includes 110 pieces and three minifigures with of course Shaggy and Scooby plus the mummy aka Dr. Najib in episode twelve "Scooby-Doo and a Mummy, too". The headdress was not in the original cartoon but it does add a touch of class to the set. Also don't forget the cheeseburger! Based on one of the most iconic vehicles in animated history is a well priced set at $29.99 to include a total of 301 pieces, a cast of four minifigures between Shaggy, his faithful companion Scooby-Doo, exclusive (at the moment) Fred, and the witch's zombie aka Zeke from episode thirteen "Which Witch is Which?". Obviously for any fan of the classic series, this is a 'must have'. I know for me it is.
