I say just join LEGO VIP and get it two weeks earlier.

I agree with this to a certain extent.

If you are going to only build it, I would wait for a decent discount before purchasing.

If you are going to have it as an investment, I would also wait, unless you think that if you get it early enough, you can sell it on eBay or some other online selling website, for an inflated price (<-which I have seen many people do).

I would wait until it is discounted.

Only reason to buy it straight away is if you a a collector and are genuinely wanting to build/display it. Even then you could wait for a discount if you can. I know with things I collect I have to get them on release day :)
